Thank you! I finally understand the Embrilliance essentials software! Your amazing Becky and so generous with your detailed videos. I wouldn’t have learned the software with out them.
I do "batch bonding" too - I find I waste less and it speeds things up a bit. I just spent the morning making cut files for another project I'm doing - so satisfying. I made a separate folder within my design file just for cutting files. For some reason some of my cut files were actually showing the design with a small Edge icon in the lower corner and some just the Edge icon. Guess my computer is confused this morning. Great tutorial as always.
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I was able to watch and actually follow along in Embrilliance. I have a Cricut Maker so I am excited about not having to trim the pieces by hand.
I hope you don’t mind but I took a screen shot of the mat / heatnbond directions. I can never remember how you do it. Thanks for doing this video. Love your style of teaching.
Your video is very helpful BUT I am trying to do fonts only for a customer. When I follow your instructions, I only get the outline of one letter. Can you explain how to get the entire word to cut? Thank you so much. Linda Bowen
Becky what SteadyBetty do you have? I would like to buy one, it would be so useful!! Have you ever tried Misty Fuse instead of Heat and Bond Lite, everyone at my quilt store uses Misty Fuse.
You don't need to increase the pattern on the SNC for this project. Since the svg file is created to be the exact size of the placement line, it is not needed. I only +2 on Kimberbell svg files.
I watched this video which inspired me to use the my connect to send the design to the scan n cut and it was flawless until I got so excited that my pieces cut out beautifully that I forgot to mirror the images, uuuugghhh I was like, NOOOOOOOOO. But it’s okay I got a lot of practice in. Becky your awesome I watch pretty much everyone of your video’s and I’m still learning. The only thing I can’t figure out is if I send a design from the online canvas workspace and send it to the scan n cut the scan n cut tells me no data was sent. I’m stumped.
I've done that (forgot to mirror). Consider it a Right of Passage on cutting fabric. lol As far as transferring from Canvas Workspace. Did you connect your SNC to the Canvas? ruclips.net/video/CBYfaaNruyY/видео.html
Thought I would try smaller project to start so pulled up chicken mug rug but there is no description of step as your steps do. Trying to locate placement stitches so I can turn into appliqué. Tried to widen objects but still doesn’t show it. Do I not have my settings right? Would appreciate any help I can get . Thank you for all your great lessons.
They are not identified as placement stitches. You kind of just have to understand how applique digitized files are organized. The very first outline of the applique piece will be the placement line and that is the one that you can turn into an SVG file.
which heat and bond do you use..i am having trouble getting the paper to stay on the pattern piece to cut on the scanner. in your older videos you use heat and bond softstretch lite...i notice in your videos the iron stays on longer than 2 seconds to seal and you turn the pieces over to heat on the back...2 seconds on just heat and bond lite does not stay and i always want to hold the iron on longer.
Wow! The Scan and Cur is really incredible! Are there classes given when you buy it? Where do you go to buy one? Your tutorial on it seems really complete, but I usually need help with any type of technology, so an in person class would be helpful. Having the pieces cut to the exact shape really is much easier on your hands. Thanks.
Are you talking about making the svg files? You'd have to print the design and go over the placement stitch in a dark marker and scan it to create an fcm file in the SNC to cut out your pieces.
I thought I followed the instructions, with embrillance and then to creating svg files to canvas workspace to the scan n cut, but now I am on my embroidery machine. Started on my chicken outline but it is going the wrong direction. Did I miss something? Maybe I should have mirrored it, but when?
I think I figured it out. I think I put the fabric up (with the heat n bond on the back) instead of the opposite. I had a hard time cleaning the mat afterwards. Oh well live and learn
Question: this pertains to a general scan n cut question. I recently purchased a design that included svg files. I’m sure they were grouped together. When I downloaded it to the scan n cut , I got a message that said the file was too large and it was automatically reduced to fit the mat. That’s was the message said. So, out of curiosity, I cut and indeed the pattern was 1/4” short -so my question is this; how do I prevent canvas workspace from resizing. Why doesn’t it just put the design on two mats ? How do I go about ungrouping the file before canvas workspace reads it. I mean. Luckily, I had the real measurements so I was able to use a ruler and rotary tool. But, that won’t always be the case, I’m sure. Especially for a more detailed cut. This was a simple wallet. Did that make sense?
Yes I have seen this before in designs from Urban Elementz. That problem came up when we were making either the Howl-lelujah quilt or Warmest Wishes quilt. I addressed it in a video and showed how to keep it from happening. I'll have to dig around and find it and I will reply back to this when I do. It can be fixed on Canvas I just can't remember how right now.
Nope! :-) You can stitch the placement line, place your fabric square over the placement line, then stitch the tack down line. Once the tack down is finished you can trim around it with your embroidery scissors. No SNC needed!
Sapporo 527 Gravity Fed. I've got it in my Amazon store. 6 years and still going strong! amazon.com/shop/powertoolswiththread You'll need an IV pole from the store too if you don't hang the bottle from the ceiling.
Girl you are a great teacher again. Showing me how to use more of my Scan N Cut. Thank you
Oh my gosh! Those lil chickens are sew cute!! ❤️
Bought the chicken design when it came out. It is so cute!

Me too! Thanks Becky!
I’m just waiting for my kit. I ordered it today!

Did you remove the Heat and Bond paper backing before placing the fabric on the cutting mat?
Learn every time. Hints help so much

Hey Becky, which scan and cut do you have? I hear you talk about it all the time.
SDX225. The didn't have the 225F when I bought mine so I purchased the gold mat and blade separately.
Did Becky increase her cut patterns by a +2? I didn’t see that step
You don't need to increase the pattern on the SNC for this project. Since the svg file is created to be the exact size of the placement line, it is not needed. I only +2 on Kimberbell svg files.

Can you do the svg’s on Cricut design space too? So sorry if i missed that info ❤️
If you create the SVG file in imbrilliance in umbrellas you should be able to upload it to Cricut to be able to cut out your pieces.
@@PowerToolsWithThread thank you
I missed what embrillance software we need to have to create the svg cut files.
And can it be used with other designs besides designs by JuJu

How many placemats does the kit from DBJJ make, just one or does it make a pair.
The pattern is from DBJJ. The fabric kit is from JellyRolls2Go and it makes two.
You can make the sag files in the essential?
Yes! I show you how in this video. :)

Depending on the model you buy, you can get them at any Brother dealer. Many dealers offer classes. Or you can go to 'RUclips University' lol
We don’t need to save the file in Embrilliance after we make the SVGs, right?
No. No saving is required.
Can I use BES4 or design 11. I don't have embrillance
Are you talking about making the svg files? You'd have to print the design and go over the placement stitch in a dark marker and scan it to create an fcm file in the SNC to cut out your pieces.
Never mind. I should've finished watching first.
Where do you get your kits for these projects? I get the files from JUJU but where do you get your kits?
If you get to the video on a phone or computer there is a link in the description box to the kits.
What is SF 101 on the back of your pieces? Thank you
It's a Pellon product called Shape Flex 101. You can get it at Walmart or Amazon.

Did you accidentally hit a reverse button in Embrilliance?
I think I figured it out. I think I put the fabric up (with the heat n bond on the back) instead of the opposite. I had a hard time cleaning the mat afterwards. Oh well live and learn

In embrillance is there a way in objects to make the little pictures bigger? I am having a hard time seeing them
I don't think so but you should submit a ticket to their customer service ti ask. I could be wrong.
Thx
