    • @PowerToolsWithThread
      @PowerToolsWithThread  2 года назад

      That's kind of what I did with the bunny nose - creating a design from nothing. I'm not much of a digitizer, but the Luminaire Design Center worked for me this time. The order of steps are: use a shape to create a canvas to work on, decide what type of stitches you want - either line drawing or fill stitch inside that shape, and then fill the shape with the paint bucket or drawing on the screen. That's about the extent of my skills. lol

      My iron is the Sapporo Gravity Fed ironing system. I've had this iron for 6-7 years now and it never spits on my fabric because there is a condenser that turns the water to steam before it gets to the iron. Pro garment sewers use this iron. It's in my Amazon store. As to the top of the line before the Luminaire (XP2), next to it today in the lineup is the combo Stellaire (XJ1), but before that was the Dream Machine 2. amazon.com/shop/powertoolswiththread

      Yes, you can download the .fcm file to a Mac - meaning, the download function itself will work. However, Embrilliance doesn't allow the import of .fcm files that I have seen. • @SherryCarrigan1

    The FCM file is not proprietary to Microsoft. It is proprietary to ScanNCut. I use Mac for all my SNC/Canvas work. I use PC for all my Simply Applique/BES/PED11, Bernina, and Floriani software.

    • @PowerToolsWithThread
      @PowerToolsWithThread  2 года назад +1

      From my research, that .fcm file type was created by a Microsoft developer for the video game Minecraft. It's a placement file extension that allows a gamer to leave the game at one point, and then return the next day in the same room location they were in when they left so they don't have to begin all over again. I believe, and I could be incorrect, that Brother partnered with MS for the use of the file as an applique placement file in its Pacesetter software for cut files created by the SNC. Yes, you can certainly use a Mac with the SNC and Canvas. But if you want to use the fcm file to create applique as I was doing in this video, you'll need a PC just like you're doing. I appreciate the clarification as I misspoke.

      @@PowerToolsWithThread Interesting. As a Brother Dealer, never heard that explanation. Very well could be. Not trying to be a smarty pants, just don't want Mac users to turn away from purchasing the SNC in fear of not being able to use Canvas. I also use Embrilliance on my Mac to create FCM files and create Applique from the FCM files. So much technology and so little time. I do enjoy watching you create!
