Becky, Thank you for the great demonstration. I just bought the SDX330D and I have a Luminaire with 1 & 2 upgrades. I watched your program, connected the machines, but it did not work until I went through the connection process on Luminaire to connect with CanvasWorkspace. That was easy. Thing I learned was that on the SNC I did not retrieve the design from the lower left corner where it says “Retrieve data”, instead we have to press the < (back arrow) to go to connection with photo of sewing machine to retrieve. Once you do it , it is easy and wonderful for these machines to talk to each other. I also look forward to using SNC to make designs and cut data and send to Luminaire to make designs. Thanks again.

Would you believe that my sign came from a FB ad? I can't recall the store. You really only would want to upgrade theSDX 230 if you have a Luminaire so you can use the MyConnection feature with the either the SDX325 or 330D. Otherwise, you really don't need to upgrade. :) Save your pennies for fabric. LOL

Becky, just got my sdx 325 and unboxed it - looked at some of the icons and tried to find videos for my machine - found others for different machine - but now that I've found yours I think I can manage getting it set up with no issues - after watching this unboxing video I do not have a Brother embroidery machine but I have a Bernina 880+ (which has wifi) can I still connect to my Bernina machine? Thanks in advance looking forward to the rest of the videos

Becky I wish I would have checked out alll your videos for scan n cut, unboxing and connecting. I would not of let my puppy eat those papers. Turns out it was the activation code for scan n cut. An I hate to say this but Brother support is never there. And o brother dealers in Long Island, NY, very frustrating. So thank you!

Right now, Baby Lock doesn't have the My Connection utility or anything like it that I'm aware of (June 2022).
I have a scan n cut sdx230D I believe... I have not taken out of the box because I do not know how to use. I am hoping these are close - so that I can follow you and learn.

Not at the moment. Your machine needs to have My Connection (or something like it) in order to connect to the SNC.
Do you have to have the Luminaire 2 or 3 to use the Scan n Cut SDX325?

I need a refresher as to how the communication works. I tried it recently and got all messed up.
Was the activation code on the screen of the luminaire? If So, you might want to blur that out too.
Blurring after the fact on YT isn't an option, so I went ahead and whacked out that part of the video. I'm not sure what could happen if anyone else used that code on their machines, but better safe than sorry right? :) Thanks!
ridiculous my connection only works with the luminareseems strange to cut out so many other customersthat have wifi capable machines. I do have this machine hoping one day that will realize their mistake and make an upgrade to work with more machines🤞
The SNC and the Luminaire are made by the same company (Brother) so they are able to configure the wireless language in both of them so they are able to communicate with each other. Brother doesn't have the rights to the proprietary computer technology in other machine brands. However, you bring up a good point. Perhaps one day a third party company will create a utility that can bridge the gap between the SNC and other machines just like Embrilliance did to be able to send embroidery designs wirelessly to the Luminaire and Baby Lock machines. Also, other brands may not want the SNC to communicate with their machines for some unknown reason. Many companies are VERY protective of their technology and are unwilling to allow external communications with brands outside of their own. If you're talking about Brother making the My Connection available to other Brother machines, I would bet that if the demand is there, they will create a way to make it happen to other wifi capable machines.
@@PowerToolsWithThread I have a Brother Stellaire, it is made by Brother just like the scanncut. It is wifi capable and can do many of the same things as the luminare. It has a 9.5 x14 hoop capability and no built in scanner or projector. You have to use the app. Brother is more than capable of including other wifi machines to my connection it makes no sense that they only set it up to work with the luminare. Not everyone has a luminare and it seems they would want to sell new scanncuts. Hopefully you are right and they will figure it out. I'm excited to see your new scanncut in action 😁

Would it also talk to my Brother Quattro 3? I have a photo of a patch that was created by a Papason from Vietnam in 1970 for members of the small 8 member landclearing team out on the Cambodian border. I would love to recreate the patch not just have a photo. I am told that it would be possible to do with the newest model SNC.
The SNC uses My Connection to 'talk' to certain models of Brother machines. My Connection is not available for the Quattro series. I'd recommend contacting I digitizer I use to recreate the patch. She's very good and digitizes by hand. She's out of British Columbia and is very reasonable. Her website is artembroidery.ca/

Absolutely!
Will this work with any brother embroidery that has wireless?
Yes, but in different ways. As far as I know, it can connect directly to any machine that can be upgraded with the MyConnection feature. If a wireless machine doesn't support MyConnection, it can be done with the Artspira app.
Will this work with my brother 1055x machine?
At the present time, the My Connection option isn't present on the PR1055, but who knows? :) Maybe one day!
I scanned an image on my scan n cut 325 and added it to sent to canvas workspace and it not showing anything on canvas -- yes I'm all set I did all the same steps you did in your video I'm not sure what else to try
Did you register your machine with Canvas? Look in your account on Canvas to make sure you can see your machine.

How can we connect a scan n cut 330D if we no longer have that activation card number. I had my cutter for a while and had no idea what it was or think that I would need it later for my embroidery machine when I they made my connection available for the stellaire xj1,. Any thoughts on how I can still do the my connection without the card?
I would check with a Brother dealer that is also an authorized service center. I know Allbrands is a service center so you might call them and ask. I poked around on the internet and didn't have much luck. You might be stuck with just using a USB to transfer designs. Sorry.

I found my card! I was able to follow your directions on this video and everything is now working. I am so happy Brother decided to include the Stellaire in MyConnection. Thank you so very much for your attempts to help me with this. Almost forgot to add where I found the card, in the compartment inside my scan n cut with my tools. 🤭

Right, it doesn't 'talk' to the Baby Lock comparable machines (that I'm aware of).

Don’t have a scan and cut yet , but sure would love to have it.
I will be selling my old CM650 once I get it and the mats all cleaned up and ready to go. I'm keeping my SDX225. The 650 still works great!
