I purchased the scan n cut sdx 125e and for quite a while I felt lost. You are so easy to understand, I relate to not being tech savvy. I’m 72 yrs young and probably have a nerve buying this machine LOL. However, I wanted to cut my drawings and this seemed my best option. I do like the machine a lot. Thanks for a great video!!!
Thank you so much for this informative tutorial. You've solidified my decision to get a Brother Scan 'n' Cut and I'm now a happy subscriber too. So I shall be binging your content while waiting for the machine to arrive.😊
I just came across your channel today and you were real easy to follow. I just recently got a Scan n Cut DX 1200 and I love it, and am in the process of learning all that it can do. I have subscribed to your channel and I am looking forward to watching more of your videos. Also, thank-you for the free downloads of your designs...I love them!
WOW WONDERFUL, ive been searching nonstop for a video thats so informative and straight to the point about everything. Im buying this exact cutter and tossing the cricut as it cant even do something simple like scan and cut but wow this video is great
Glad you like the demo. It is great being able to draw your own designs and then scan them straight into the cutter without having to use any design software, c x
Hi I see that this is an old video but I'm new to the scan and cut since 2022. I had a sdx125 but decided within a couple of days after seeing what else was out there I decided to go with the Brother sdx330d. I did not really need the Disney but the price was the same as the sdx-325 which does not have Disney. Your class was informative and well presented. There are many videos that people make showing they were not prepared to Make the video and it is all on the fly. Good job, could tell you were in Europe because of the SDX 1200 which is a European version.
Thank you for this wonderful video, very clear institutions your a great teacher and the best I have seen so far!!!I always love your video's, This has been very helpful as I am thinking about get a new machine, have a Pazzles but it's old now and dose not work good very good anymore! Thank you for sharing! Liz x
I really appreciate how you speak slower than a lot of other showing us how to use these machines. You are so much easier to follow. Thank you for the demonstration of doing different functions with the same shapes in different sizes.
sorry to be so offtopic but does anyone know of a trick to log back into an Instagram account..? I stupidly forgot my login password. I would love any assistance you can offer me!
@Moshe Leland Thanks for your reply. I got to the site thru google and im in the hacking process atm. Takes quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
Brilliant tutorial so easy to follow. Can I ask I use Crafts u print cards . Can I scan the page and gave machine cut out all the different parts. Thank you
I would think so. I've had a look at their designs and as long as you custom set the scanning contrast to drop the background out it should cut out the main images, c x
@@eileensmyth6284 It's fairly straightforward but you will need to check the cutting line on the screen to check it's picked up all the bits you want to cut out. Sometimes it misses the smaller parts but in all honesty it's quicker to stop fiddling with the adjustment and just cut those missing bits by hand. Here's the link I think you want - ruclips.net/video/oB5OvEucq9w/видео.html Let me know if that's not what you were talking about 😁 c x
I have started making cards and selling online. However a lot of my designs I cut out free hand so I have been researching cutting machine ands have found your channel very informative. During my research I have found a variety of models and really like the brother. Could you advise the best place to purchase. Thank you
I'm not sure, sorry. I think their preferred retailer is Makers Superstore but it might be worth asking in your local craft shop to see if they can order you one or they might have one they use so you can have a proper look, c x
Your demo is so easy to figure out how the machine works and helped me decide to buy a Scan n' Cut. Thank you so much. Just have one doubt at the moment: does the machine comes with all the accessories needed to work straight away, or do I need to buy them separately?
I think they all come with at least one cutting mat and blade, pointer, spatula, 6 small drawing pens that fit in the blade holder, and 2 fabric marking pens. You can get cutting as soon as you unpack it, c x
great video :) but how do you set the machine to cut in negtive? for a stencil, you can choose what part is going to be cut out and kept. but it can also be the other way around ;) ty
If you're going to make a stencil you will need to plan your design so it has tabs to hold pieces together. There is another demo on our channel for stencil cutting with the ScanNCut, c x

Your information is delightfully detailed! I did laugh when you mentioned "imperial measurement" The United States is moving towards the metric system...inch...by...inch...
Have you got printed versions of the label? You should be able to do an outline scan and then cut it out accurately as long as you don't remove and re-postion the print on the sticky mat, c x
I think the CM300 is probably more affordable as it was the first machine they made. I'd imagine the SDX 125e is better as the SDX range is newer. Both are capable of scanning and cutting your own designs but I think the SDX would handle more intricate lines better than the CM, c x
This is a great video . Would this work on a cm900 as well? Could I say scan in a pattern that I want to cut out, store it in the machine so that I can make multiples then cut it out on whatever material say Cork fabric? Thank you.
I would think so. The basic method of working seems to be the same on all models. I think the main differences are resolution of scanning and extra editing facilities. c x
Yes you can enlarge or reduce it, and the dimensions are shown. You can also take off the proportional dimension so the image can be stretched in either direction, so a circle can become an oval, c x
I have a question and there probably is an easy answer. I would like to know what each icon is for and what each is used for. I have searched everything that came with my scan n cut and just don’t see that at all. I pick up the usage on some by watching videos but I feel lost and frustrated at not knowing what all these do. Appreciate any help you could give.
I admit it was a bit trial and error with the icons. I'm assuming you mean when you go to 'edit' ? I don't have it set up right now (and no space to do so!) If I'm honest I'm not even sure myself what some of them do! c x
@@TheCraftsChannel Thank you. Also thank you again for the great tutorial. I feel the education on this machine here in the US (unless you purchased from a dealer) is greatly lacking. I usually use the Maker before I think of the Brother.
I got the scan n cut DX125 exactly for this ability to draw my own designs. I draw on my procreate on my iPad...then can pull it into scan and cut and it cuts it beautifully in whatever medium I choose...the circuit just could not do that.
@@TheCraftsChannel It’s amazing...I can just draw an object or shape...or letters....go into canvas workspace and download it I to workspace and use it...it is awesome...I make costumes, so I am still playing with this for making my own various shapes of appliqué to fit the design. I use procreate sketch app on my iPad Pro. Having a bit of trouble cutting Lycra’s stretch, but think I have figured it out. I have a fabric blade. I put fusible web on it and that has worked. I can’t just put stretchy fabrics directly or the mat or it gets bunched up.
