I love my scanncut for fabric cutting. I'm not a fan of the fabric support sheet, it's "too sticky" in my opinion. I iron freezer paper into my fabric and put it fabric side down on a standard mat. Once cut, the freezer paper peels off the fabric and the fabric peels off the standard mat with no stretching.
I’m new to Scan n cut and currently watching all of Mel’s video’s I love them ….she is so knowledgeable and informative and I have learn’t lots…thanks Mel ❤
With the faux leather nit just quilting I use it to cut my bag patterns as my back no longer let's me lean over the table to trace and cut by hand anymore .. this machine cm900 has changed my life
Hi could I ask a question please . I am disabled and have a useless left arm that I am having amputated soon. I love sewing and bag making. I use cotton, vinyl, waterproof fabrics, lightweight canvas ect. I’m really, really struggling To the point I’m considering selling everything and giving it all up. Which would break my heart. Do you think this machine could help me.? Could I send the patterns to the machine and have it cut it out exactly as required? If so it could be exactly what I’m desperately looking for. Thanks for taking the time to read this ❤
I believe this would help you tremendously. My wife is paralyzed on one side and able to cut fabric using the scan n cut. May God bless you and enable you to continue a craft which you love
Hi Fiona, Mels only concern is how you would burnish the fabric on the mat. we would recommend this non slip mat to help keep everything in place - www.art-of-craft.co.uk/product/crafts-too-multipurpose-craft-mat/ we hope this helps and that its not too late! Sorry it took a while for us to reply xx
Hi Joanne! The ScanNCut will know which blade you are using, but it wont automatically change the settings. So if you are using a CM blade in your SDX, then change back to the auto blade, you will have to manually change your cut settings back to auto in the settings. Hope this helps!
Thank you for this video. I have been using the fabric mat so much it is losing its sticky. I need to purchase the fabric support sheet to place on the low tack mat as an alternative. Is there a way to restore the sticky on the fabric mat?
You can clean it with something like “Totally Awesome” or “Faboluso” -generally as long as there is non alcohol in it it should work-it cleans off the fabric grunge and it is tacky again. For routine cleaning try an unscented baby wipe
hai, i have scan & cut sdx1200 but i have a problem, it cutting material twice or even triple times. which lead to cut through. Even though my blade is auto function. i have tried everything still cut through. even turn on half cut still like that. why is that??? how to solved it....
if you have an old mat that you dont mind cutting, put some cheap card on it and test your blade depth and pressures, then write down what works best for your blade and machine!

That sounds like a good idea …which blade do you use?

It really is!

Hi could I ask a question please .
I am disabled and have a useless left arm that I am having amputated soon.
I love sewing and bag making.
I use cotton, vinyl, waterproof fabrics, lightweight canvas ect.
I’m really, really struggling
To the point I’m considering selling everything and giving it all up.
Which would break my heart.
Do you think this machine could help me.?
Could I send the patterns to the machine and have it cut it out exactly as required?
If so it could be exactly what I’m desperately looking for.

Try the poplin on the standard mat..the fabric mat s far to sticky for light fabrics
Enjoy watching all your videos and I’m interested in the class for the cards but can not find the link thank you x
Will that fabric blade cut wool or do I need a special blade
because wool contains many fibres it might be difficult to cut and to stick to the mat. If you want to try it though let us know how it goes!
can i cut fabric with my sdx 85S and also can I get a rotary blade for this machine
I would like to know this also!
Mel, what is the name/brand of the stencil glue you are referring to in this video?
I would also like to know
thank you sewwww much! You made me giggle!!! Thank you
When you change blades does the SNC reset cutting parameters? Thank you.

Hi Jacqueline! you can put a new fabric support sheet on the mat, and this will give you a fresh stick. Hope this helps!

Hi! Great question, my advice would be to email Mel with this question and get her expert advice. You can contact her here - Mel@highlightcrafts.com
Why are you using white fabric on a white mat on a white table???
well we put the other mat in the wash!
What is CM blade?
A CM blade is the standard blade that comes with any of the CM series of ScanNCut Machines. Hope this helps!
Couldn't a check be made kn the vinyl with a test cut before cutting the word.
What stencil glue?
Pinflair
Wish you used colored fabric. It would be easier to see
id be afraid my old adjustable blade would cut my mat
if you have an old mat that you dont mind cutting, put some cheap card on it and test your blade depth and pressures, then write down what works best for your blade and machine!
