The "How to sell your truck fast" tutorial
I can smell that through my phone
Ya it smells yak
Good thing you can't smell my gas through the phone😂
First job at 15 pick parts/sell on back counter to the shop and fuck I still dream about part numbers and the LOVELY funky smells… 22 now and it damn sure gave me tough skin dealing with the “Covid back orders” and the average joe dirt Einstein.. our area didn’t care about pande at that time so hell man trying to explain it’s bigger then me that production has been slowed = backorder 😂Ted talk done I don’t work for ford anymore due to gray hair at 19 😂Ford purist though
Yep! Fixed A LOT of the AOD-E and 4R70W converter "shudders" by this very method.
“Fixed”
Put Lugard shudder stop in my 129,000 miles 6R80 and didn’t feel a shudder for 10,000 miles. Swapped the fluid with Maxlife at 140,000 miles and haven’t felt it again.
How many miles now?
I was wondering if I changed fluid afterward if it would just blow up on me.
@@nameless-og 148,000 and just did another fluid drain and fill. Just trying to stay ahead of the problem.
@GusMahn thanks. That's reassuring. I'll take the risk then and put the good stuff in. I just don't want to find myself needing to do it over the winter. Will make it a spring/summer project to actually pull the TC out... seems like the unit itself is pretty pricy on its own, anyway.
I was going to say this exact thing. Shudder stop always does the trick. Changing the fluid followed by 2 tubes of shudder stop makes for a long lasting smooth transmission shift.
HP tuners, Turn pressures up 25%. Fixed.
That's in the handbook for my 2005 explorer. They have it for the transfer case and both pinions.
Been using that for shudders since the 80's
Yep! Fixed A LOT of the AOD-E and 4R70W converter "shudders" by this very method.
And it works on other than fords
@@robeatsalcko5760 There is a shudder fix product. probably same crap.
Will it fix 2008 Toyota tundra rumble strip noise?
The truck shudders between 3rd and fourth gears sometimes if I’m cruising but when stepped on gas or take off the foot to slow down it stops the shudder.
Grab the lube guard instant shrudder from auto zone worked like a charm for my slipping trans
I put this in a 2004 F-150 a buncha years ago and it took care of my shudder almost immediately and until I got rid of the truck!
Lube Gard Instant Shudder Fixx worked like a champ on my 2016 f150 4x2 5.0 162k
hey those things work on more than just ford pretty much anything can use it makes shifts smoother and seems to help that shutter he’s talking about
Lubegaurd platnium friction modifier is the best one
That helps. But I ALWAYS try changing the fluid first. And it often works for 40+ thousand miles. Maybe I’m lucky. But at our dealership I always sell the fluid exchange first. In the 6R80 it has worked for me 8 of 10 times even in higher mileage vehicles.
Did you dump and fill or do a full flush? We do full 15-qt flushes at our dealer and some of the techs don't like doing them
@@joshuac837 when there’s a shudder , we do a full exchange because we want to get as much of the old fluid out as possible. Some are still fearful because they believe that it will destroy the transmission to do a full exchange. That might have been true back in the day. But with today’s transmissions, a full exchange is safe.
Ford dealer refused to change my fluid and filter to fix shudder in 2017 f150. They quoted 4k for a torque converter. Brought it to the transmission shop my regular mechanic recommended. Changed fluid and filter added shudder fix. 20k miles later, and it's still good. I'll have it changed every 30 or 40 k miles.
@@jayclark5912 That’s crazy! But to be honest, it sometimes depends on the individual tech. I ALWAYS recommend a flush as a first attempt as long as the customer knows it MAY not work but probably will. But we have another tech that almost always recommends a converter without even attempting a fluid exchange. I don’t like that approach
@@dmandman9 I think your most likely correct but the service writer reminded me more of a salesman than a technical person. He made it sound like it was the 70s or 80s and changing the fluid would ruin the transmission. Whaling City Ford.
Did this on my 16 f150 it cleared up the shutter immediately.😮
How long did it fix it for?
@@MrEstrada1988 it's been 5-7 k and still working.
And now I gotta get it fixed.lol
Did it end up being the torque converter that went bad?
@@Tilethoughtsthe follow up comment 😂
Cant tell everyone all the secrets man 😅
Or..... you can change the fluid and put in Shutter Fix by Lubeguard and be good.
That shit is a Miracle fluid. Had a super aggressive 2 way LSD. After adding that stuff you could barely hear it engaging
Bg trans flush… fixes it every time, have not had it come back in our shops experience. But as always everyone has there opinion. This is just our experience.
My 2015 F-150 has shudder maybe like 3 times since I’ve owned it for about a year now and I’ve noticed only when in sports mode so I just keep it out of that lol
He didn't stutter when he urged you to sell that shudder.
How much of the oil should I put?
Thanks Mayson.
Nothing like adding friction modifiers to clutching parts.
It worked on my 98 Ford explorer
I know it's just temporary, only lasts about a hundred thousand miles for my ford and then I just add a little bit more and after about 100,000 miles I might have to put some more in. I know it's just temporary but I'll fix the transmission when I have time.😅
Will this help the chair dragging noise that comes with the shudder when re-accelerating at 40mph?
Done this yesterday on a 16 f150.... Definitely works.
You use same stuff in vid? And did you inject in like he did? My 15 f150 definitely has got it
@@michaelH0000 that I did.... And in my experience it worked instantly on the 1st drive after I install the addictive.
@@michaelH0000 I've also had great results using the lubegard 19610 instant shudder fixx from AutoZone. That may be easier to find if you don't have a local Ford dealer
@@rillybiggs5152 okay thanks
Smells good
I put that shit in everything. Every time 💯💯🤣🤣😘💰🔧🔧🔧🔧
Whould this help chevy shutter due to TC aswell?
Shudder fix will fix a shudder also, I think Transco has it
Exchanging about 6 quarts of fresh trans fluid will restore the friction properties of the fluid.
Does anyone know if you change your gear ratio on your truck should you change install a torque converter with a different stall speed or does it affect your torque converter at all
Cat mechanic hear : Cat had that same problem and they did the same thing , fixed problem !!!
So he putting in the transmission dip stick hole right?
Same for the 10R80?
Used car dealers used to use sawdust.
This feels like another design flaw Ford seems to be proud of.
They ain’t getting shudder til over 250k tho
Do you guys think its OK after doing this to continue pulling a camper. I had mine serviced fluid, pan, gasket and filter. They added this stuff and immediately it shifted correctly again, no shudder and had plenty of torque at low speeds again. No problems at all anymore. Been 2k miles since.
I wonder if that would help with a Chevy torque converter shudder
Does Instant Shudder Fixx work too? Which is better?
How about 2018 f150
Will it fix 2008 Toyota tundra rumble strip noise?
The truck shudders between 3rd and fourth gears sometimes if I’m cruising but when stepped on gas or take off the foot to slow down it stops the shudder.
Could I use this and instant shudder Fixx together you think?
Literally commenting on this video with a healing burn wound all over my right thumb from that f******* cat
I literally hate messing with my transmission, got a scar for everytime ive checked my fluid. Toping fluid off is the worst. Gotta go through passenger fender well
I use Lubegaurd.
Have 2016 explorer ecobo that has over Dr shutters … change fluid and slowed way down will this help also with explorer? 130,mi
2014 F150 5.0 STX - shudder/vibration in rear at Highway speed (65mph +) and bed seems to hop sometimes when going slow after highway speed. Is this product a solution?
I have a 2009 with 6r80 will this work
I've done it
Would it hurt a 10r80 trans to use this?
Probably not. These are only bandaid fixes so you can trade the vehicle in to be honest.
gm add nmf drive chande oil add nmf goes away for now will see
Can you explain exactly what the tq converter shudder is?
It's when the clutch inside the torque converter doesn't lock up smoothly. Normally under load you will feel it and in higher gears.
@@brarautorepairs what do you feel exactly? Can you explain what it feels like?
@@BigDaddysPlati Feels like a misfire but the PCM won't log any faults. Like running over really rough rumble strips.
I believe they use to call it moa
I changed my trans fluid and it fixed the problem. How long will it last?
If the transmission shifts perfectly good now that means there’s nothing wrong with it. I had the same thing.
Nice…
If I changed a f350 water pump and the customer said it’s over heating in like 3 blocks and has to turn it off for a while what is it
Thermostat or plugged radiator. Check the hose's and make sure they aren't collapsed also.
Now my phone smells why would you film friction modifier?
Your in Atmore alabama? I'm at autonation ford in mobile. I didn't realize you were this close
110 % ? I like those odds
Anyone run this in a 10r80? Seems like my TC has some slop to it.
We had a good ford e150 with the 4r70w transmission is that a good transmission for a van that’s a daily driver
The AODE was mint in my 97 mustang and in my 2001 had it bad.
Van has a little bit more than 200 thousand miles and has never been open up except for fluid changes and filters besides that it’s factory
The same amount of castol oil is cheaper.
Sure would be a lot easier to add that if ford would put a got damn dip stick tube under the hood like a normal person should smh why do these engineers design shit like this
So is there a difference with 6r80 and 6l80 transmission?
yes the 6r80 is a ford trans and the 6l80 is a gm trans but you should be able to stop shutter by doing this no matter what car you have depending on how bad the trans actually is. the 6l80 should have a dipstick under the hood depending on how new your truck/ suv is if its anything below a 2019 the dipstick will be under the hood on the passenger side by the fire wall it will be black and have a gear on it just pour the fluid in there. if i was you however id just take it to a shop all these newer fords/ Chevy's/ dodges all have major trans issues and imo all need to be recalled i dont know why these manufactures keep making these transmissions when they know how shitty they are
The GM transmission doesnt have shudder problems like the Ford does.
@MWilk098 yep they just come apart and fill everything with a bunch of metal to the point it stops up the filter and it stops moving
Just long enough to sell it
Hilarious I could’ve used this. Rear diff was CHOWDERED when I finally made it home from my road trip. If I didn’t put it on an uncommonly used gear it would’ve exploded fs
Amsoil Severe Gear works as well, at least on the Rangers. I bought a bottle of this as a backup but ended up not ever needing it, even pushing around 80lb tires with a limited slip diff.
Used car dealers: 😉😁😂
Now ya see if you'd just bought a chevy you would just watch the body fall off but everything else is fine
Same transmission. Ford and GM shared a lot of technology between the two
Will this work on Nissan cvt low speed torque converter shudder
No, lubegard makes a product specifically for cvt trannies. Need to do a fluid change and add it in. I believe it's called cvt recharge and protect.
Cvts don’t have torque converters, unfortunately if yours is having issues it’s on its way out I have seen somewhat frequent fluid changes help but only minimally, junk ass transmissions
@@Ricossmft28 cvt trannies do have torque converters, there has to be a fluid coupling between the engine crank and the trans input shaft otherwise you need a mechanical clutch. Nissan even incorporated a lock up clutch in the converter to increase efficiency.
@@mikejones-vw6hq there are many types of cvts and none of them use torque converters the cvt IS the torque converter that’s literally the whole point of being constant velocity
@@Ricossmft28 this is copy and paste directly from Nissan motor company website..With CVT the engine output is transferred via the torque converter. The torque converter is configured with an ATF and along with working like a clutch, is an important vehicle part for increasing torque and transferring powerful kinetic force when moving off... the constantly variable part of the trans refers to the primary and secondary pulleys that are connected via a steel belt which gives you a wide range of gear ratios and a flat power band. This has absolutely nothing to do with the connection to the engine which as stated previously has to be a fluid coupling or mechanical clutch.
That skunk juice stinks. So you don't want to get even a drop of that on any part of your body.
Cowboy move
6r80 is POS transmission. Constantly needs to get fixed and doesn’t last for shit. Buy an older manual truck with no bs electronic sensors that are cheaply made and break
Just long enough to sell it, that's ethical
Change the fluid don’t listen to this kid
This comment will sound goofy, I have success using a modified Turkey baster, old school mechanic taught me.
In what part of your body do you insert the turkey baster?
Seems like ford can never get their gearboxes right
Or engines. But they always want top dollar.
So other manufacturers have trannys that don’t break down ever huh? Jeez ford really sucks. I learned something new today
110% gonna burn yourself!
What about the chevy 8 speed?
Mobile 1 has a fluid that is specifically to help gms 8 speeds its Mobil 1 lv hp fliud it's even gm certified
