    2017 Police Interceptor Utility (Explorer), 3.7 NA, 6F55 Transmission 130k miles. Did the same as your customer, changed valve cover and intake gaskets, spark plugs, and coils - no improvement to the shutter but acceleration felt the tiniest bit better. Plugs had some rusty looking corrosion from the tip through the threads. Did a drain and fill on the transmission, got out about 4.5/5qts of fluid. Replaced with 5qts Mercon LV and 2 tubes of Lubeguard shutterfix. Issue is 95/98% of the way gone. No more harsh shuttering, still tiny variations in RPM below 45mph when the torque converter isn't completely locked yet. Never had issues during full throttle accelerations but the 1200-2800rpm range, low throttle, up to 45mph area was the zone of concern I was targeting. I have all the work orders done on this car from back when the police department had it. They've been using 2 units of Lubeguard each time and the fix seems to last for ~10k miles at a time, and they did it 3 times before quote for a new transmission was ~6k and they sent the suv to decommission and auction. Definitely need a replacement torque converter but it's impossible without removing the entire powertrain - TC runs ~400$ for a remanufactured, with labor it would probably come out to ~1600$. Plan on doing this till it completely gives out or I sell it.

    That was great! Simple fluid change. Routine maintenance wins!
    I remember the Honda's with the CVT transmission when they first came out. They had a low speed shudder and Honda came out with a fluid update that cured it.

    I've been living with a shuddering transmission in my 2012 CR-V for about 5 or 6 years. I had taken it to a mechanic and he told me not to worry about it, that it would last many more years. I loved the CR-V but this shudder was driving me crazy. So, after reading lots of reviews, I ordered Instant Shudder Fixx and put it in my transmission 2 days ago. Afterwards, the wife and I took a 20 mile trip and there was not one shudder. Not even a hint of one!
    In the future, if I ever have a vehicle that shudders I know what to do. Instant Shudder Fixx is easy, quick and effective!

    @scannerdanner called this stuff “Dr Shudder Fix” in a video he made last year. It was hilarious because they were so skeptical and it made them feel like they were less than professional to call it a fix. Since then it spurred an ongoing joke where they call anything related to a chemical fix “Dr ……… Fix”. “Dr Connection Fix” etc…. I love that you took the extra steps to prove it. Well done Azael.

    I can confirm this100%! I drive a 2014 ford explorer. The dealership I bought the vehicle knew about this issue and thought it needed a transmission replacement. after doing se reaserch and adding shudder fix it went away after driving it around for 5 miles. Going on almost a year now and it hasn't came back!
    Thanks for putting this video up and sharing your knowledge ( as a auto technician myself) it's crazy how quick and easily people can misdiagnose vehicles and jump the gun on changing parts rather than doing research first.
    Even after graduating from tech school in 2012 you never stop learning and reaserch is key before even turning a wrench, it can save you big time.

Viola. the shudder was gone. By the way, I added this LubeGard instant shudder fixx just in case. My transmission fluid was never changed. My car km was 140k. my mechanic who change the ATF showed me the magnet plug which he took out to replace the old ATF. It did work on my 2009 Subaru Tribeca with the 5 EAT Transmission, I did a full fluid flush using the OEM Subaru Fluid via transmission cooler lines to get all clean fluid into Transmission and the shudder was bad going uphill, There is a TSB from Subaru with the 08-09 Converters with Subarus of this vintage, However between labor and parts it's an expensive fix, So far it has not done it since I added this additive, No idea how long it will last, I'm hoping between the clean fluid and the additive it will be ok for a little while.

      Well I just did a fluid change and I drive for a living. The fluid change only lasted me about 1500 miles before I felt the slip/judder again. My dealership recommended a transmission replacement. They agreed to do another flush (for another 400 dollars) and add this additive. It has only been one day and about 300 miles. So I’m on fresh fluid and the additive. I’m hoping that it lasts for at least 20,000 miles and I’ll change the fluid out again. If it fails prior I’ll try to come back and say so but it’s doing great today

    The most notable item that predicts shudder was the torque converter clutch pressure. When it was relatively low, say, ~35 PSI, it would shudder. When it climbs past 40 PSI or so, it would go away. This tells me that, for whatever reason, the transmission wasn't able to generate sufficient pressure to make the torque converter clutch grab as hard as it should have, thus causing intermittent slippage, which manifests as shudder. At least, that's what appears to be going on to my untrained, amateur, shade-tree mechanic eyes.

    I had what I thought was a engine problem.after watching several videos of shudder fix I'm giving a tube a shot. Transmission fluid looks good.hoping for good results. 2 ounces doesn't seem like much to do anything but if it helps I'm adding a second tube. At about 12 bucks I haven't got much to lose.at 2 ounces I'm happy I don't have to drain anything.anyone have a experience using it in a ford taurus?

  • @magicone9327
    @magicone9327 8 месяцев назад

    Would in be explained as a pump? The engine spins the converter which sucks up trans fluid then expels it under a higher pressure. This higher pressurized fluid is pushed against valve plates which make clutch disks come in contact with their drive plates which causes the main shaft to spin which the pins the wheels via differential.
