Well said and funny. Ii
I thought the rear hatch was coming down on your head 😂😂 Lola bumped the stick !! I thought it was all over 🤦 love you Mike !!! ❤
As a Swede I am happy you got that incredible Volvo to start. She will be a great car with your help.
Volvo has always been awesome when it comes to access to the top of the gas tank from inside the trunk
Oh man that duck is hilarious 😂
Well done, I admire your persistence... I could never be an Auto Elec... I guess when you go to look at auctions on the check list should be a 'wire check' to make sure Mickey and Mini Mouse have not been in residence... LOL
I don't believe it, you have fixed Volvo, you are better than a lot of so called professional mechanics
Finally, a video worth watching
97 850 T-5 is actually a fairly rare configuration in the US. There just weren’t many of them made. Definitely change that water pump and all the timing belt parts like the idlers, tensioner etc when you can. Changed an original one on a 97 2 days ago and while it wasn’t leaking or making noise.. it was definitely breaking down on the inside. That engine will go 500K+ if maintained!
Yay 😊 good for you Mikey, Benzo was Rooting for you when you were first trying to start the Car He's your Support Duck 🦆😂😂😂😂😂
This episode brought to you by AFLAC!
Haha!!
Another great comment. Ha
We love Lola and Benzo !!
That’s Great Mike, Good Seeing That Volvo 850-T Wagon, Running Now.. Can’t Wait To See What’s Next Sir..
The TURDO WAGON had more poop in it than you thought but it's looking much better Mike
@@thomassmith6027 when he first got there Volvo he needed a name for it and ratwagon was taken. He showed the tremendous amount of poop from all types of critters in the car that's why wires are so chewed through. I suggested the TURDO Wagon as it's shined up well after Mike's Detailing but looking at the fuel pump looked just like when he started with it.
Hi you should attach a filter to your pump to save it
Fantastic job Mike, once again “ It’s Alive !! “ See you next episode!👍
I respect your hard work, thank you so much for bringing volvo to the channel
After 03:12 Sir Quacks-A-Lot clearly warned you that Lola has a bad case of the Spring Zoomies! Congrats on getting the Volvo to show you it still has life in the system.
Sir Quacks a lot, thats good.
One tiny piece of advice, as a longtime owner of this platform…. The radiator support that you like to rest your hand on is made of fiberglass.. put a towel or something over it so you don’t get little shards of fiberglass in your arm! Ask me how I know lol. I’m loving this project!
Benzo a chatter for sure. Could swear he enters a conversation with you. 😅
Those wires under the power steering pump are your ECT (engine coolant temp sensor) wiring. These things get angry if they have no input from there, that's why your fan was running. Sounds great! Good job.
Thanks for the info!
Great work Mike, shes looking great 👍
Absolutely one of your best videos…congratulations!!! 😊
Carpe Diem, and you did. Victory is earned by you today Mike. You took a non running car you were not familiar with and got it running. If Tally's Diner is still in Tulsa on old route 66 treat yourself to good food cheap. If not Rib Crib might be good too. Your fan in Wichita. Daryl
Your consistent commitment to spreading positivity is changing the game. Kudos!
The sound of sweet success!! Glad all that hard work turned out great :) now I want to buy myself a Volvo turbo wagon 🤣
35:52 YES! You don’t like the gas can design either. 😄
I have one to fill my lawnmower, but being winter I decided to pour the gas into the truck vs. letting it sit all winter. I had to use a funnel and screwdriver to pour the gas in… sucks. 😡
Great content 👍🏻 love it when you stick with one vehicle.
Good job Mike the engine didn't sound bad
That will be fine Mike especially with writing on it 😊
Awwww Lola wants a hug 😊❤
I love seeing people learning how great these cars are. Most people laugh at me when I tell them i drive one and love these vehicles. P80 and P2 Volvos are great vehicles. One day ill pick up a C30 or V50 to learn about the P1 platform.
I continue to restore/maintain my daily driver 05/CX-90/2.5T(I love her)
Nice job, Mike. It sounded great just cranking, I'm sure that engine has a lot of life left!
You make me miss my 850 more and more, been waiting for this moment Mike....thanks a bunch my man!!!!
Is one for sale near me for 3k and has 226k miles on it. 😊
@@carlbernard4197 Amazing! I sold mine for 500 back in 2008 with 186k miles but it needed some work....seats were torn at the seams, the air compressor went which is in the dash along with the airbag covers peeling up on both the dash and steering wheel.
Its alive its alive . Nice job you did, Mike
I like to watch you and randy work on the car, but please show us your work. Even if it you speed it up in time, lapse
Mike, check the idle control valve. Congrats on getting her running. Believe it or not but if you use smooth peanut butter to polish the fadedplastic bumpers, they'll look new again. Basically the oil plus the psteactslike a rubbingh compound to clean the grime out. Use a microfiber and tooth paste to polish the headlights too. Just cheap DIYs Excellent work.
WOW!
Not to sound like a know-it-all, but I’ve been playing with cars for so long (50+years) it isn’t often that I learn something completely new. This I’ve never heard of! I can’t wait to try it myself.
Peace,
DrRick
And invite the rats back in for another party? I'd pass
That way, the rats will eat the bumpers and leave the wires alone. 😂
@@andrewthomason3857 Haha, true. I have asthma and can't use commercial chemical and toxic products. I used this for a long time (once every 6-8 weeks) but I have no rat infestation so I can't really say but you use it to polish and buff out with a rag, nothing stays behind but if that's an issue, you can allways drop a couple of peppermint oil to that paste. rats and mice can't handle that smell. Aditi, onally, you can mix a spray bottle with water and a few drops of peppemintoil and spray the whole engine bay to keep the vermine away for weeks!
@@drrick8839 Actualy I have asthma so I needto use non chemical products but here's another one. I lerned from a friend that worked in a car wash that wiping the bumpers with antifreeze also works great but I don't use toxic products or containing silicones.
She really sounds great Mike. The whole prosses was difficult ,but you managed to get her done, an I enjoyed these videos very much. I was very happy when she fired up, it took awhile but it sounds great, and now you know a lot about Volvos for the future. Thank you, this made my afternoon.
Please replace the grey coolant reservoir cap with the turquoise version, the grey is known for failure of the pressure release valve!
And the chewed wire near the alternator goes to the coolant temperature sensor, if the ECU misses this signal, it runs a rich fuel mixture as it thinks the engine is cold. That the engine stalled can be because of the not mounted MAF-sensor.
Great job Mike 😊
19 gallon tank, very good car
You could throw in a 302 and make a Paul Newman rally grocery grabber... :) glad she runs, lot of work you put in.
Loved watching this video. Had two 850 Turbos back in the day and really liked them. I hope you can get this one sorted, I don't see these cars around much any more unfortunately.
Hi Mike, just so you know there is an easier way to change a timing belt without having to set it to TDC (top dead centre). On an engine not locked up, simply cut the belt half way along the whole length. Then simply fit the new belt on the pulleys, so you have one and a half belts on. Then cut the rest of the old belt off. Then slide the new belt the rest of the way. No struggling. All the best from the UK
The trick is to remove the crank pulley, that makes everything easy.
Always good to see you Lola my love ! Oh same to you Mike except the my love part .
Great video. Good to see the Volvo running and glad you are feeling better.
Once the motors warm try slightly tightening the spark plugs before undoing them.
If in doubt change that timing belt.
Cheers Pat 🇦🇺
Mike I having flow even when I not waiting it. But it always looks clean 😂😂
Love the old Volvos
Yayyy wrenching on the Volvo 😀🤘🏽
This was the first engine i ever did a timing belt. The first start i was bit nervous but it turned out great.
I had a specialist do the cam belt on my C70 T5 - he didn't think the water pump was urgent as with some other cars. He did say the 2 serpentine belts needed changing as they wipe out the cam belt when they fail. I wouldn't rush to replace the fuel pump either for now as it works and certainly not with one from a junker that may not work!
Water or sugar in the gas both not good, Good call Mikey
That grey bumper on the front be like new with a scouring pad and some atv restore juice!
Great Job!!! Great Process!!!
None of this stuff is easy and also I know that none of these cars come with instructions.......... as in what the previous owners had done.............. or did or had changed.......
Love the car working videos fantastic!!!!!
😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁❤️😁
Worth the wait to see it up and running. Nice wirk Mike!
its funny how the duck keeps trying to talk over you🤣
Excellent content!
Good to see you again.
Good informative videos thanks 😊
Great video!!!
Nice work Mike!!
Great video like always Mike!!!🤠👍🏻🍻
Congrats on the big win!
Very happy to see that Volvo running. It is a great car to put back on the road without too much effort and $$$$ to invest !!!
Great Mike! Helluva job thus far, keep going to the end.
Good job Mike! 😊
Great video Mike, liking the Volvo and content
Very impressed with your patience
Good Job!
Finaly, great long video and work on this volvo💪🔥
well done mike, those volvos are pretty quick, cant wait to see it on the road 🙂
Glad to see you back doing videos, your so enjoyable to watch, especially Lola running like crasy in the back ground
Good job.
Mike , Mike , mike Mike mike !! I love the Volvo . Loving the lengthy content as well . Huge congrats on your purchase . Can't wait to see more of her .
Nice mike good job love it
Well done Mike
Well this video was better than your walking around a junk yard video. At this rate you may get the Volvo on the road by December.
Your great attitude is 50% of the wrk already so you are good to go 😂 I love ❤ Volvo's 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Using a silver sharpie marking the belt and marks and everything then matching it up to the new belt is the number one way then when you put it on zip ties hold the belt on the pulleys while you're getting them on the other pulleys
Feel better mike😊
I just replaced the timing belt, water pump, pulleys on my '98 - first change. Original belt was fine, just a bit stiffer than new. No cracks. The new ones look identical to the original - you can't tell by the labeling. There is no "top dead center" on these motors - it doesn't work that way. The plastic piece at the top of the tensioner is inserted after you release the tension pin - you snap it in from the side and press home with a pry bar. That rodent damage would be very frustrating. Nice model of Volvo - hope you can save it.
Good work mike i love seing you work on cars and when are u doing more content with randy sheer from A.A.R?
Good job Mike 😎😎👍👍Hi Lola and Benzo 👋👋
Great saving 👍
You did it!!
Hi Mike congratulations on the Volvo. Timing belt change it went smoothly I think you get the wire all fixed from the rats your going to have a nice car with a turbo like the video a lot tell the pets hello good to see you working on cars again thanks 😊
It isn't hard too subscribe, like, and comment!!
Love the Volvo!
IT LIVES!!!!!
The ducks the real star of this video 🤠👍
At the end of the video Benzo was translating everything you said to duck for all your duck viewers out there. lol Benzo needs a girlfriend.
Love the Volvo Mike. Hopefully everything works out. Love the channel.
Great video 👍 yes id say that's the original timing belt they say 75,000 miles iv seen them go to 100,000
Lola and her henchduck just like to help.
That's your new word? Spell it for me lol
I replaced my belt at 125k, and it still looked good, probably another 10-15k possibly.
Most vehicles with timing belts, the belts should be changed every 100,000 miles. Is dye to the fact that the belts are quite tough but they can have defects that shorten their life much like tires. 😊
Hey Mike Lola and Benzo
Take the rear headrest out and the seat backs will lay flat.
Sharing the Video to My club they're probably wondering what happened 😂
