rewatching this years later after having beaten Prey myself, i'm realizing what these tests in the intro are ACTUALLY testing for and i'm losing my frickin mind over here. how anxious Alex is as he tells you to "just be yourself". realizing that you might be a little slow removing boxes from the circle if you only rely on having two arms. realizing that you can indeed hide in the room with the chair.... if you have certain abilities that Morgan wouldn't have. it's about much more than the "personality drift" test in the fourth room

In my playthrough, I crouched behind the chair in the second test chamber and the female scientist said something like, "Is he...hiding behind the chair?" as if I had just done something mind-blowingly cringey :D

glad im not the only one!
I'm going to have to very much disagree, and say that you couldn't be more wrong. The game itself is amazing(I've played it myself, 100% a few times), and there are some good moments. However, the whole tone of this playthrough, especially the second half seems to just be Mark going "I could do that, but we don't have time, we gotta go", even though the entire audience very clearly wants him to slow the hell down. This playthrough seems to be a rush to the finish, which results in a pretty terrible watching experience and a pretty terrible playing experience.
He made an excellent game into a very short rushed game.
This playthrough is similar to his doom playthrough in that they both had significant problems that made them significantly less enjoyable to watch. This playthrough was rushed, and his doom playthrough was just him saying "haboink" or "haboosky" every 2 seconds, constantly interrupting anything he was saying.
Korone can pull that off with her "orayo!!" because she's a cute doggo vtuber, but "haboink"/"haboosky" is nowhere close to that level of cuteness.

@@kikitapika9565 The real Morgan yu is dead, the Morgan you play as is a typhon that Alex is trying to teach empathy and morality. At the end of the game, if you survive, if you've shown a lack of empathy (hurting other innocent survivors and such) Alex kills you, but if you showed empathy and humanity then Alex releases you and you can choose to either kill him and help the Typhon exterminate humanity or you can choose to be an ambassador between the two races to stop the Typhon from wiping out earth.

Yeah, it really saddens me that a Prey 2 will never happen (The irony, right?). Prey is definitely in my top 5 games I’ve played, and the ending of Prey leaves so much opportunity for a really fun an interesting sequel.

If you pay close enough attention early on, the scuff marks on the floor tell you that the walls move. I noticed early, but didn't question it. Now I can't not notice it.

My theory is that when Mark explained the thought that he might be a mimic I thought that that was the reason they were asking him to hide in that room. Because he is a mimic, they thought he could mimic the chair that was in the middle of the room

Yeah, those test rooms were all based on typhon neuromod abilities you can get, the first is remote manipulation, the second is mimic matter, and the 3rd is the Phantom's jump ability (I assume)
@@fobitbswo It clearly stated on one of the computers that he had his neuromods removed. That means they were testing for something out of place with the original Morgan and they knew he didn't have any neuromods.

Mark you NEED physician. You didnt notice but medkits give very little health. Physician bumps it up ALOT. Also, prey is pretty literal about there ALWAYS being another path. Also!!!! When you have Scientist, engineer, and (whatever it was) they arent paths per say, just categories for the upgrades. Just cause you take one it does not het rid of the other. Like this so

Hacking is quite useful, you can hack robots to fight for you, unlock people's computers, unlock safes etc.
I think repair might be bit more useful especially if Mark isn't going to backtrack. There is stun gun on second floor he can access with grav shaft and those make dealing phantoms easier. Health isn't problem if he remembers to crouch to sneak and besides I can see on video that on normal enemies do much less damage than on hard and I've managed to survive with enough medikits to feel pretty safe even if I take lots of damage.
(truthfully though, I just picked hacking and sequence breaked with gloo gun to climb up to foyer

yeah but let's be honest how good at stealth is mark. remember in isolation how long it took him to figure out that being sneaky meant being quiet? physician is the way to be. health before stealth.
I just abuse the Quick Save function because I always try to find ways to cheat games like this through meta lol

So...i have a theory. Morgan somehow found a way to install neurons to himself that would mimic the mimics powers. He caused himself to have the same test day over and over again so he could test those abilities. But the last day something went wrong. That's why the scientists were upset. In the first room they expected you to move the objects with some kind of AOE blast, that's why it was called "area of effect". In the second room they expected you to morph into the chair like a mimic, the name of the room was "copycat". And in the third room they probably expected you to phase through the wall or teleport like a ghost, that's why it was called "spooky action"

Wow, this is weird to see, I watched Mark play the first FNAF, and stopped watching him by the time he played this game. Its so strange to see different fans get into and fall off with Marks content over the years. Especially because there were so many people way before me too.

I still remember playing this demo, spending hours on it because I knew I wouldn't be able to afford the game for awhile. Between the dart and glue gun you could actually get to a lot of places they never meant for you to go in the tutorial, through trial and error I figured out exactly which abilities to pick to get to as many areas as humanly possible. In the end by the time I finally got the game I had a save file with a large portion of the human path nueromods unlocked, a ton of ammo and resources, and intimate knowledge of how to break sequence in the game with ease.
I'm 90% sure 'Morgan' is a mimic. NO SPOILERS PLEASE. ESPECIALLY after rewatching the beginning and in room B, the scientist states "do your best to hide in this room. Go with your gut." and the ONLY thing in the room is a chair. Which you obviously couldn't hide behind. Also, the mimic later transforms into that exact chair.
I was thinking the same thing! I haven't played this for myself, so I wouldn't know for sure, but it seemed like they were testing him as if he were a mimic!
