    I was wondering why Sachtler is the only one who makes a tripods with a fast setup, but wow here we are, even better faster than a Sachtler now

    • @HeeGeonKang
      @HeeGeonKang 4 месяца назад +4

      there is YC Oninon pineta peak and Sirui SVT75 which have fast set up.
      BTW this tripod looks great

    • @waveland
      @waveland 4 месяца назад +6

      I’ll take the Sachtler any day for sturdy sticks, and no one can beat the Aktiv heads they make for ease of leveling. You’ll pay a whole lot more for the Sachtlers, but 10 years from now you’ll still have a stable camera platform. this SmallRig won’t stand up to a beating. Did you notice how much the camera wiggles when Potato Jet moves the tripod around?

      @@HeeGeonKang The YC Onion is very rattly (if thats a word) I had to send it back as there is a little bit of give in the legs, I believe they have already stopped making it as its been sold out since Christmas, The Sirui one looks good but I already feel there is a version 2 on the way as that also has some issues

    Probably one of the coolest products at NAB this year, and you gave it 2 min of footage. How low can it go? How high? Show us the mechanism for extending and retracting better!
    Also smallrig: make it have a 75mm bowl top. None of that center column stick stuff please!

    • @noahyv
      @noahyv 4 месяца назад

      I dunno, they don't really need the ball leveler with the one touch adjustment so that just adds bulk and weight and the center post allows super fast height adjustments without having to worry about level... I know they are frowned upon but this small tripod clearly isn't prioritizing payload or rigidity, I actually think it's a smart move to give this the maximum number of features and useable range in the smallest lightest (and hopefully cheapest) package. And I own the fancy sachtler stuff but I hardly ever use it if I can get away with something lighter weight. I'd rather save my back and my wallet as cameras get better and smaller.
      The only downside I see here is that adjusting level may slightly change camera position when done on the legs but then again I level on the legs all the time when it looks faster to latch and unlatch one leg vs loosening and tightening the whole head.

  • @Captyvate
    @Captyvate 4 месяца назад +10

    Those telescopic centre columns are terrible for stability. Give it a 75mm bowl.

    Trigger feature is next level, but fitting a lightweight, heavy duty fluidhead tripod in a check-in suitcase for me is a game-changer!!!

  • @ErisedMediaCo

    This is an amazing way to accomplish this. That quick release system is a great idea.

  • @waveland
    @waveland 4 месяца назад +4

    Cute, but I don’t like the way the camera flops around. I would say they still have some work to do.

    • @KPOPPERjp
      @KPOPPERjp 4 месяца назад +1

      that's probably because it's using a counterweight/counterbalance and isnt actually locked in so you can move the camera about

    • @jeffrey3205
      @jeffrey3205 4 месяца назад

      That has nothing to do with the tripod, that's the head, which has nothing to do with the tripod except that small rig makes both

    Have the YC Onion, Flowtech 75, Sirui SVT 75 and the Smallrig Freeblazer.
    The Smallrig Freeblazer broke after 2nd use.
    The YC Onion is closes to the Flowtech feel.
    The Sirui SVT 75 is now replaced by the SVS75 which has twisting locks instead of lever locks. I think they replaced it cause the SVT75 was too stiff for rapid release lol.
    The Flowtech is still OG... If Sachtler could make a more compact Flowtech 75 for smaller cameras, that would be a winner.
    I think these other tripods are aiming for this market that Sachtler is not currently addressing.

    Gotta say, this is pretty much exactly the kind of tripod innovation we need. Could be faster, lighter, cheaper, and more compact than my flowtech and does the same thing when im using relatively Compact cameras... Hope they didn't screw anything up!

    Looks good, Ive tried the YC Onion Pineta but that was flimsy and felt like it would break soon, Ive got too many tripods already but something that fast to deploy is a win in my eyes and it has a centre column which is a must for me

    I hope it doesn't have the shake it's showing here when he moves it around. The head should be confidently sturdy just like the rest of the tripod. Or maybe it will have a 75/100 bowl to use another head on it?

    The legs will definitely get stuck after a few uses especially when dusts gets in betwee. Happens to Sachtler, will happen to this. The payload for the legs might be great but the fluid head looks filmsy asf. Whenever Gene puts his arm on the arm, it looked like it was about to break off
