NOTE the RS3 does not replace the RS2, it's an upgrade to the smaller RSC2 and has 3.0 kg payload. Confusing, I know.

DJI sent me an RS 3 Combo to review just before our family vacation to Jamaica. The tiny gimbal fit right into my Peak Design backpack along with two cameras and two lenses. This is our first family trip with our newest addition, Ruby. It was her first time to see the ocean and I'm so glad to have captured it.

Who’s this for?
The RS 3 with a 3.0 kg payload is perfect for mirrorless shooters who want to stay light. That could be an elopement wedding filmmaker or a travel vlogger. I loved it for my personal travels and never would have achieved these shots handled or my RS 2 for that matter, it’s just too big and would have stayed at home.

Just went for the RS3 as well with travel in mind. Your RS2 Settings video was very helpful for smoothing out my RS2. Out the box it is a bit too caffeinated haha!
Are your RS3 custom settings roughly the same as the RS2 settings?
And to think I just bought the RS2 combo two weeks ago. Well, I just have to make the most of it.

Canon R5 with EF 16-35mm 2.8L
how was the clearence with ef to rf adapter+ ef 24-105 mm , was it easy in under slung mode , i have a black mamba cage on as well on r5 ,, is clearence good enough or tight ?
clearance was fine with the adapter and worked well in underslung mode. Not sure about having a cage, but I think the motors are strong enough to add a few counterweights for balancing.

Thanks a lot for this test. please could you help me about a question, I have a CANON EOS R6 + adapter EF/RF + 24-70mm 2.8L. With the DJI RS3 mini, the viewfinder of the R6 touch the rear engine of the gimbal. So impossible to tip over the camera. Do you think it will be ok with the RS3 ? tanks a lot for your help

@@miltoncogheil3316 hello, yea I found the solution. I have purchased lead fishing and fixed it on the top of the camera( shoe flash). For me approximately 160g
And now it’s perfectly balanced !

@@ianarne Oh! I didn't know there was a balancing issue. I wanted to know about the clearance on the RS3 with an R6, adapter and zoom lens. I assume that isn't an issue. Good to know you're up and running.

It was Beaches - the kids loved it.
You use an ND filter? What brand and stop range if so?
I use EF glass on the R5, so I'll use the drop in filters from canon for polarizers or ND.
What's up with the color grading masterclass? Is that still a thing?
Rs3 or Rs2/RS3 Pro for R5?
RS3 can handle the R5 as long as it's stripped down. I prefer the larger Rs2 / RS3 pro for pro shoots along with the c70 and the smaller rs3 for travel videos.
