I would like a gimbal that you can have "presets" on the settings for different lenses or packages instead of having to calibrate everytime you change the package.
Thats exactly what i need
The funny thing is that the original Ronin-S has this. You can save 3 presets as modes and configure them in the app. I have one for normal speed, one for very slow pan, and one for infinite roll. I suspect the RS3 has this somewhere in its interface and it just wasn't used or shown here.
@@virgilhawkins5680 Hey Virgil - I think he was specifically commenting on a preset to not have to recalibrate your gimbal every time you set your camera on it
@@Fabianedwd ah, I see now, thanks. That may not be possible the way these gimbals are currently designed. If you don't set the camera plate and all of the axes to the exact same position every time for each package, calibration could end up being a little off. That could damage the motors over time, especially if you're shooting on zoom lenses. At least, that's my understanding.
What you're asking is customed presets like modern cars have for different users. For that you might need an electronic plate, positioning the camera on a given specific place and then let the gimbal move every single parametre (plate included) to the requested user preset. I presume one day we will get there, at the moment I think it'd make the product too expensive but this is just what I think. Maybe Dji is already projecting it 😁
as always veeery pleasing to look at, because of all the great shots and not a typical review as most people do (talk a lot about specs and almost not show the result), great job Danny! 😊
DJI seeing what Matti and others see in you… So talented man, thanks for the great storytelling as always. Stoked to see your video. This gimbal looks awesome.
Thanks Tucker!!!
So awesome seeing you in the official dji release video!!! ☺️ and great review btw👍🏻😎
The RS3 that you're reviewing is a replacement for the RSC2 and not the RS2 - hence the lower payload.
RSC2 replaced with RS3
RS2 replaced with RS3PRO
Yeah, it's weird he didn't see that or DJI hadn't told him. That was his "cons". Change of name.
Took almost half the video to finish with that. I got impatient 😐 sorry
Love how humble you talk about your upcoming project in 11:02 - really symphatic!
Awesome review and footage. You really show what great gear in amazing hands can produce.
Every time I watch a Danny Gevirtz video I have something new to strive towards. Love your work man!
love you Danny, keep up the work ❤
Another great review Danny, love it. very inspiring! Thanks a bunch.
You're perfect for this review, I always think about the RS2 shot on the truck for your other bike film. Excited to see this one finished :)
Love how fast the setup is. That feature is make or break for run-and-gun!
Been running with my a6500 and original RSC for about a year and a half now. What a blessing it is to have a budget friendly gimbal on the market like this. About to upgrade my camera and I’ll still have the funds to purchase this!
the video is so rad bro, I love it
Always so modest about your films😂I’m sure Connors video is going to be yet any other masterpiece! Can’t wait!
Thanks for covering this, and congrats on the collab! Biggest concern was handling bigger lenses (e.g. 24-70mm f/2.8) with mirrorless bodies and smoothness, so this answered all my questions. Seems like a really solid upgrade from the RSC2.
It barely has any differences from the RSC2.
My rsc2 balanced my a7siii with a 24 to 70mm sigma easily. So this should do it too
I'm using rsc2 with eos r + adapter + ef24-70 f2.8 and it works :)
@@amohammed5181 Can you do zoom in and out without rebalancing with the rsc2?
@Lance Razon you can if you balance the gimbal with the lense midway e.g. at 35mm. That will allow you movement.
Cool! Didn't expect you as one of the reviewers, so that's a pleasant surprise!
Haha me neither
The only thing overshadowing this video is the insane endurance level your Ironman friend has. Thank you btw for the honest opinions on the RS3. Well done!
Those swimming shots are next level man. Great work!
Excited about the new short. The swimming footage is so cool where you're in the kayak. That had to be a little scary with all the gear on you.
Great review and footage mate !! Even though I don't use gimbals as much as you this will probably my next one :) (or the Pro if I need that one for my bmpcc6k Pro)
So glad they put you in their RS3 video, because you are amazing already
Thanks Frank!
Excellent review. Concise and to the point. Probably going to pick this up. Thank you.
Great Video and review good to hear your take on it . I thought I saw you you in the official DJI video brilliant well done nice work well deserved
Thank you..love your work!!!
Impressive video stabilization! And it's exciting that there's more features to look forward to in the the RS3 aside from that!
In the ancient sport of "spending money I don't have", I ordered an rs3pro for my trip down to Costa Rica this week. I was sweating that expense pretty hard since I won't have it in my hands until the day before I leave, but dang man, this video you put together has given me some faith back. Quite content with your content. Kudos.
"In the ancient sport of "spending money I don't have" awesome ! 😊
Dude those kayak shots are sick haha. Bet your were nervous. Great video as always brotha!
Oh wow, You switch back to Canon! Thank you so much for all the lesson over years! You inspired me to make my Moving Picture video of my Hometown the most beautiful place in Vietnam! My channel is very small now but I hope I will grow bigger and make a video with you one day! Good luck on your film! :)
Incredible work Danny! So happy that DJI discovered you. Btw, where in Vancouver did you shoot the short film?
Footage looks incredible Danny
Thanks Chris!!
Solid review!!
I love your videos man! You are so likeable. Just go on like this! Greets from Stuttgart, Germany.
Thanks very much for this very concise and helpful review. I think the RS 3 will be fine for me, as s single user that wants to keep things simple.
Just waiting for this short film 🙏🔥
The don, the boss, the hero! Amazing footage, great review!
Haha thanks man!
Danny, I have the rsc2. Amazing kit. I shoot portrait mode a lot. Can this do it? Or would I need to get a vertical mount? Also, I've never purchased the active track but I want the camera to be focused on the subject. Do I need that or can this do it now without it? I don't need all the follow focus stuff.
You rock bro! Thanks!
Excellent video!!!!! I pre-ordered mine...can't wait...quick question about the H4n pro mic...where is it in this video you recorded?
Didn't realize this was a Danny Gevirtz video when I saw "Review" in the title haha
But amazing work! Thank you for the content :)
Looks like a sick gimbal and not super pricy. Probably gonna end up getting this one. That footage you shot looks sick, can't wait to see the film.
Thanks Blake!!
550$ and can't handle more than 3kgs? Lol, theres way better and cheaper options than this. i think its a total flop, i also can't see many differences in comparison with previous models. Love stabilizers, this is not it.
They removed the image transmitter from the package and no one is talking about it. Sponsored trash reviews
I'm on the Komodo with big cine glass so I'll def keep running the RS2. And it runs perfectly so no complaints or reason to really switch. Actually surprised they announced a new one so soon.
Nice new upgrade to the RSC2! The autolock feature is insane!
Hello Danny! first of all congratulations for your work! You are a filmmaker that I love and I have been following you for a long time from Pamplona. I wanted to ask you a question, do you know any filter that works well to recreate realistic anamorphic flares? Thank you!!!
The final result was amazing!!! love it!
One question...you have used the camera on the gimbal with a cage too?
Really nice and calm review, thanks for that 🙂 Does RS3 have active tracking and possibility to mount it onto the slider? We've got Canon R5, the 2.8 lens trinity, maybe adding 100mm macro for food photos. Curious, if RS3 pro is unnecessarily big for R5 or some future Canon simpler FF camera. No intention to go bigger tahn R5.
Danny what autofocus mode are you using most of the time ? Ex: Zone / Spot / Wide
Hi Danny, nice review!
The RS3 is the new version of the RSC2, and the RS3 pro for the RS2. Yes, it's really confusing, I know
A tech review from the man himself, a rare but welcome occasion 😂
Danny- do you think there is enough space for an FX3 on there with a cage attached ? The right side of my 8 Sinn cage is quite bulky!? Thanks for the review.
Hey man, thanks for the review.
What do you think about the RS3 mini?
Hello there!
So from what I understand, a Sony A7IV with a 24-70mm should be more than okay to balance and manage, right? Even while filming cars (so being out of the trunk)?
I'm new to gimbals. I'm a welder, cyclist, mechanic -- I do all kinds of stuff. I was looking at the Weebill 3 and the RS 3. for a novice who wants to start filming his work and for doing city walk thrus with a Canon 80D, what one would you recommend?
What brand is your yellow backpack? Thanks and amazing work 👍
Hello Danny! Please check it work with Sony PZ28-135. You can use camera transfocator with control wheel on steadycam, i work with that, but how it will work via blue tooth control?
I can’t wait to see the new film!! It looks epic
You’re epic
Vancouver representtttt!
Hello! What about active track? Do you still need the raven to use that mode? Great review btw!
This was such a rad project Danny! Super grateful for the chance to work with you on this one. It was such a fun time hanging in Vancouver. Thanks again for having me out!
Thinking about taking my R5 (and potentially this nice gimbal) with me in a kayak just gives me anxiety.
When you go on water in *sorta* sketchy boats do you have a waterproof bag immediately available to throw the camera in?
Danny, can you put eos r with 24-70 (or other massive setup) on this gimbal but vertically (to shoot for IG) ?
The final piece is really nice, well done. What were you riding on for the cycling shots in the forest?
Look at you doing product videos. Tech genius. 😂 but seriously, can’t wait to see the short. And if you got time, bless us with another breakdown of the film. 🙏
Hah big tech guy here!!!
This is such a great video and motivated me to get the RS3 thanks 🙏🏻
The music in this is called “can you feel the sunshine” by UTAH
Can you please suggest me which gimbal is best for lumix S1 (24-105 & 50mm). I am confused between dji's RSC- 2, RS2 and RS3.
So active track on the RS3 can only be used when in the app on your phone using the transmitter?
Is it balanced with a Sony a7iv camera and Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 DG lens?
Danny! Do you think I’d be ok with my Sony a7iii and the g master 24-70??
Thanks for the video mate! How does the RS3 perform with the FX3 + ZOOM lense such Tamron 35-150? Thanks!
Can’t seem to find info if the RS3 have active track? I have a Sony a6600 and hoping to slap it on the RS3 onto a tripod to be to make more cinematic footage without a cameraman.
awesome footage man congrats. How do you manage focus ? I'm shooting with S5 and GH6...
Hi there - do you know if this would be large enough for the Sony A7IV + 24-70GM2? Thanks! Can't find the answer anywhere...
Hi! which is the page where you get shots of different movies. I remember you mentioned it in a video but I can't find it :(. please help me with that.
Greetings from Peru
With the R6 and EF-L lenses with eos adapt. Will the rs3 work? Better to get rs2 ?
Oi that's a classic spot in North Van, Indian arm Rd. is the bestttt. Looks dope Danny!
Can the Ronin RS3 support active track if you have the raven eye and use your phone as a monitor. It looks like the pro only has the active track feature on the 1.8 touch screen but can I access that feature still within the DJI app using raven eye?
can this gimbal support the r5 + canon rf 28-70 f2 lens which is a beast of a lens?
I notice you have both canon and Sony cams, is it expensive to have both? I’m think to get a fx3 for video along side my R6mk2 for photos
where did you find those referrence image that you use on milanote danny? so curious tho! pleaseeee...
Love the video! Would you happen to know if the RS3 is capable of balancing an FX3 with a 24-70 (or similar setup) VERTICALLY? Or would the RS3 Pro be needed for more strength and clearance?
yup same question here, any answers?
2min into the film and places the order lol. Super good and helpful Danny!
Love you
Nice work 👏🏼
Thanks!!
Can you tell us which backpack you used (the beige one)?
Yo great review...i am going to get the Canon R3 to use it with the RS3..the canon R3 is a bit bigger then most of the mirrorless cameras...do u think its still ok to use it on the RS3? I noticed you use the Sony FX3...i was also thinking about the FX3 as well...but i watched a lot of reviews on the R3 and i dont think im going wrong with it...although the FX3 is still a few hundred bucks more..thats my reason..what do you think....and thanx for sharing that crazy cool and smooth video on the RS3..
hey! do you think this thing could carry a sony a7iv with a 24-70?
Amazing channel, Danny! You’re using the RS3 (non pro version) with an fx3 and a 24-70? I’m looking to do just that but probably add a cage into the equation. Do you think I’ll be alright? I did the math and it’s well under the payload recommendation.
Hi, cud you help me please? I have sony Fx30 and tamron 17,70 f2.8 does rs3 handles my kit?
I'm just waiting on the day when self-balancing gimbals become mainstream. I can't see there being that much of an upgrade until it's a thing.
So the rs3 regular one is great for fx3 Sony 24-70 gmi ?? That’s what I have too
Hi Danny, I live in Vancouver and have a RS 3 on order. Will it handle a 24 to 70 active zoom, or do you have to rebalance?
You need to rebalance
Smooth like butter
Love me some BTS
Nice vid! Did you bring the onewheel on the plane?
Great work as always! Where is your sweatshirt from though?!
Can I ask what lens you use most often with the gimbal? Pancake lens? What mm?
Do you think the RS3 pro would also work for SMALLER cameras?
pretty cool presentation with some cool shoots my brother ... nice one. support from josh connect media. a true fan of dji. which one would you suggest i get ? i am into motorcycle and scooters and trying to go into car reviews now. i got all the generations of osmo gimbals but trying to go into the ronins ...
Whats the name of the camera and the lense that was on your demonstrating gimbal
Love the cinematic review. Do I upgrade from the 2?
Thanks man! I can’t make that decision for ya
Brilliant yet another awesome DJI product especially designed to keep me broke 🤣
Hahaha
When you say warp stabilizer, are you using the WS in premiere pro or DaVinci? I was disappointed when I saw a lot of jitter even with the IS on using the DJI RS3…
Then again…I was on-foot, not a board or a car
