If you want to learn more about using your gimbal, I just made a free checklist for gimbal shooting and you can get it here: gimbalmasterclass.com/free-checklist/
I've literally just bought one of these and been searching on how to use it properly. Thus video has shown me that and more! You've literally demonstrated how to use this gimbal and also the camera too!
Your videos are amazing thank you! A lot of people who use the gimbal don't know the lock button on the front of the gimbal, you are one of the only people Ive seen that explains this! Thanks!
I really liked the instruction on shutter priority mode! Very helpful to understand what tips and tricks to use in different situations, and incorporated with the new gimbal. Keep up the great work!
You're the first reviewer I've seen that doesn't take off the horizontal plate when mounting vertically. Does it cause any problems keeping it on there while you use it? If not, that's a huge win for anyone that needs to quickly switch between horizontal and vertical shooting. Thanks for the awesome review and all your work!
Best review of the gimbal out there. I watched several others and they really didn't show all the features and capabilities that you were able to. You also demonstrate so well how a gimbal can be utilized that I now understand why I need one.
Not only a sponsored video…..? But a dang GOOD sponsored video..!! Really good, intuitive, informative video on the RS3 mini thanks Brandon! May your 2023 be as good as the start of your 2023!! VERY good video👌
Thanks for the lens change tip. When testing it out, I discovered that the 45° tilt feature at 5:31 also includes a 45° tilt DOWN which makes it much easier to navigate the menu for any major camera settings changes.
I feel I need a new gimbal now!! BTW, I am working through your film school content ... really love the quality practical bite-size pieces of information that build upon each other. 😊
Vertical compatible... wow! Game changer. I just bought a cage last month to be able to do that with my old Ronin... Now for double the price I could have had a whole new gimbal! Still going to get this new mini
Mate I've just discovered you and can't thank you enough for your tutrorials and insights. So helpful. Big fan here! Gonna switch out my Rs2 for this one
this video made me buy the rs3 mini , i just like how the payload and the advanced features of the dji rs3 mini are more advanced compared to other small gimbals of the same size
Only BL can make a gimbal look so much like a Steadicam. Beautiful! Discipline, creds, kudos and pronams. So grateful for showing us that small cameras can make smooth video. Hard to understand how few Tubers care about this - bouncy-bouncy. Ugh-ly. The tracking shot along the wall was amazing. Must learn to ninja walk while twisting sideways...
I'm just a hobbyist photographer wanting to improve the quality of my own videos and I've learned so much from your channel. Great review. This might just be what I add to my arsenal next!
Cool gimbal. Size is perfect for travelling. I wish it was shot and exported at 30 fps though so we can see how clean the motion looks. 24 fps movement + RUclips just seems like a jittery mess.
Hello mate, what sd card/s would you recommend for new Lumix S5 II & being a beginner (me) to vlogging etc....would you recommend the DJI RS3 Mini.....to start with???
I was about to buy the Zhiyun M3 2 hours ago and tested it in store and found out it is not the best for my camera, what is the coincidence this is announced just after my decision!?
I've been taking your Unscripted Film School classes (best course I have taken ANYWHERE btw, you're so articulate ) and was going to skip the gimbal bootcamps, but then this gimbal came out and it's small, and even fits my not-so-popular Olympus camera, so guess what the present truck delivered today. ;) Very excited about leveling up.
That’s funny when you say “don’t take my word for it “… The whole reason to watch your videos is to take your word for it. we trust you, you are a master at this… And quite an influencer.
Thanks for your thoughts on this one Brandon. I'm still using a Moza Air 1 gimbal, which if I recall correctly, you were a big fan of for a while. And it was primarily because of its size and weight. This finally seems like a powerful gimbal that is also very compact and doesn't seem to compromise on feature set like some of the other compact gimbals from competitors.
That wide lens is distorting you like crazy. When I saw the thumbnail I was like "What have they done to my Brandon?" Great content as always. The gimbal is very stealthy for travel.
Hi Brandon to be compact it does its job well but it's not quite perfect. regarding the weight it is not 795 grams but 843 grams excluding the supplied tripod.
Another question i have is in your video, you switched from horizontal to vertical mode. When you switch to vertical mode, do you need to rebalance again? Since the weight distribution of the camera and lens change from horizontal to vertical position, I would think that you need to rebalance again. I never try to balance a camera in a vertical mode before.
Hey Brandon!! Awesome video man like always. I can't decide between the Zhiyun Weebill 3S & DJI RS3 mini.. which one would you recommend? I want to use it with a SONY ZV-E1 with a Smallrig cage. Mostly going to use it to get camera movements like in movies (dolly in/out, tracking, etc etc)
..This seems to be just the gimbal I'm looking for, price and size-wise! I have an A1, but don't have much room in my camera bag for accessories, etc. This seems ideal as a travel/vlog gimbal... thanks for all the gimbal video tricks you added to this review!
I have this gimbal for over a year now. I record walking tour/video tours (see my channel). What I really like about this gimbal is the fact that it is really lightweight and easy to use. Also the battery performance is outstanding. I have filmed up to 8 hours a day with this gimbal and never run out of battery. The major con in my opinion is the stabilization. itself It is not that smooth (at least not my gimbal). The amount of shakiness is still really persistent and I always require internal stabilization (camera) applied or even post-processing stabilization in order to get the best result. Which takes a lot of extra time and effort.
If you want to learn more about using your gimbal, I just made a free checklist for gimbal shooting and you can get it here: gimbalmasterclass.com/free-checklist/
Cant wait to see your Morocco travel vlog.
May I know the model of this monopod you use for RS3 Mini?
The gimbal master
No mate, that should be my friend @aldosoeprayogi
That re-mapping of the MF/AF button and bluetooth control is genius Brandon. Very cool. Thank you!😁👌
This trick should work on Rs3 & Rs3 pro too right ?
Yeah, I was coming to the comment section for that too! That insight is pure gold
So how do I start recording if I remap that button?
use the shutter button@@RayLenses
@@RayLensesyou press the recording button on the camera b4hand silly
I've literally just bought one of these and been searching on how to use it properly. Thus video has shown me that and more! You've literally demonstrated how to use this gimbal and also the camera too!

7:14 that tipp is so good

its all physics. Also, having that horizontal arm is great for adding bottom counterweights when needed
SAME! Never seen someone do it that way! Way easier to swap back and forth!
Congrats on the DJI launch
This channel is where you can have a real world gimbal review... The gimbal master... 🙏
Simply the best at breaking down the shots. 🙌👏
This guy has the greatest walking/running pace. So smooth!
Glad to see your video after long time 👍👍
Best review of the gimbal out there. I watched several others and they really didn't show all the features and capabilities that you were able to. You also demonstrate so well how a gimbal can be utilized that I now understand why I need one.
Thanks for the informative review Brandon! The RS3 Mini may be smaller but with features like that it doesn't look like a downgrade at all!
WOW!!! Great work Brandon, thanks for helping me take the proper decision
Not only a sponsored video…..?
But a dang GOOD sponsored video..!!
Really good, intuitive, informative video on the RS3 mini thanks Brandon!
May your 2023 be as good as the start of your 2023!!
VERY good video👌
Love your gimbal tutorials…awesome review on the RS3 mini

Came out just as I was going through the master class. I guess it's a sign.
Always great to watch the Gimbal GOAT in action. Thanks for the video and the tips
Simple and neat gimbal! More importantly, the stabilization technique is as impressive as the bigger RS3 models
Mate I've just discovered you and can't thank you enough for your tutrorials and insights. So helpful. Big fan here! Gonna switch out my Rs2 for this one
Looks like the perfect travel gimbal for sure
this video made me buy the rs3 mini , i just like how the payload and the advanced features of the dji rs3 mini are more advanced compared to other small gimbals of the same size

This is awesome! Do you have any tutorials on how to balance the gimbal with the Sony wireless mic attached? Would love to see!
Oh man. The king is back with another gimbal.
Man, those zoomed in gimbal shots are totally bonkers... really got that high end movie vibe! :)
Great review! Exactly what I needed to hear. Definitely picking one up.

I think I need this gimbal!
Amazing as always Brandon! Thanks for the great review.
Another awesome review Brandon! I'll be reviewing one soon too! Looks fun to shoot with!
Cool gimbal. Size is perfect for travelling. I wish it was shot and exported at 30 fps though so we can see how clean the motion looks. 24 fps movement + RUclips just seems like a jittery mess.
Thx4sharing, great tutorial
Thanks for the tip about not looking at the screen while moving, I'm a beginner and pretty unstable during movement
Such a great video! Been looking at this for months. I'll be getting it. Love your channel.
Another great review! Thank you…

Great video Brandon!
Greetings from Uruguay
Damn, these are some awesome tips. I just got the mini and honestly, I have no idea how to use it, so thank you! It's my first gimbal ever.
I was about to buy the Zhiyun M3 2 hours ago and tested it in store and found out it is not the best for my camera, what is the coincidence this is announced just after my decision!?
just a bit of catalyst browse stabilization and its perfect

Native vertical is dope

Thanks for the review Brandon! To be honest though, you make any gimbal look flawless.
Thanks man 🙂

Great gimbal overview videos as always!
Thank you for the video. Does this stabilizer have an active tracking function?
Thank you for this video. What microphone are you using? Thanks
I like travelling and shooting Filming
You make amszing shots, and the remaping of the record button is genius ! Is there a way to attach a phone to be able to tap focus?
