I've been using the Osmo Pocket 3 for a few months now and I'm absolutely loving it. The quality is incredible and it's so easy to use. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great camera for vlogging or travel photography.
:20 seconds into this video, i hear you say you have a tutorial course for sale. You didn't have to say another word -i instantly purchased it! Anything you've produced, i don't have to see a sample of because i already know it is gonna be killer content and quality instruction. Thx!!!
Makes me realize that all of us schmucks who don't make a full-time living in videography or film, spending $1000s on lenses, bodies, accessories are silly when for under $1k you can have it all and a great image for your personal projects, travel/vacations, friends/family, passion projects, YT channels. No need for a z9, zve1, gh7, etc. all a joke sold by YT creators that we need an a7s3 to be "cinematic" the marketing psychology is real ... real billions!
I went through the cycle of starting with minimal equipment, upgrade to expensive equipment and realizing this is not making quality vids for me, loosing all desire to make vids and now I’m back with the pocket 3 and it was the best decision ever and back making videos again. And with joy.
I’m a total beginner in both video shooting and using the Osmo Pocket series. I was looking through tutorial videos about Osmo Pocket 3 when it came out, and came across your video shot in Hong Kong demonstrating how to use this little gadget. That video amazed me with how much the Pocket 3 can do, and how well you explained the functions that even totally beginners like me can understand right away. When I heard in this video that you’ve developed a course for Pocket 3, there’s no hesitation from me to just go straight ahead and purchase it right away! Can’t wait to begin the course now, and thanks for the tips offered in this video, as always very useful and inspiring!
You are the Man! I'm a complete novice so going to pop over to your tutorial and learn how to use my P3 better. Thanks for making this easy to understand.
I am so so obsessed with this camera. Since I take my Sony A7iii, multiple lenses, Mavic mini, and laptop everywhere I travel, to have something this powerful and small is so epic.
Just came across your video and loved it. I've seen a load of youtubers giving tips on the P3 and yours is by far up there with the best. Your Paper Slide tip is brilliant. So simple and yet really effective, ill definitely be using that one. Only just got my P3 after a six week wait,so tips like these are great. Just subscribed so will have a look at your other vids.👍🇬🇧
I bought this for vlogging but it’s been sitting in the corner since I have no idea how to use it (aesthetically) lol. I’ve watched so many tutorials but yours was SO helpful. Thank you! 😊
You are the best guru on this DJI OP3! I’m learning so much on how to use my new toy. I just need to go out and use it for the first time. 🎉 Could you pls share on how to do 360 video using this? Cheers from Sydney!
Good setup, I’ve been using geared heads for a few years now, love them, would never go back to any kind of ballheads, but the detail electronic leveller sounds like a great add-on 👍🏻
Great video, love the channel. I’m considering getting the pocket 3 for my RUclips travel videos, but can it shoot interviews as well? I’m really confused. Will really appreciate a reply to clear my doubts.
10:29 In this part of the video I find i have the same issue, since I move my hands when I talk, the osmo is contantly refocusing on my hands instead of my face so there is this focus jitter that is distracting. What's the best way to avoid that?
Nice vid! Learned some new tricks! One question: How do you get that audio so good? When I record it like that it sounds less smooth and less warm. Do you edit it in post?
Love your content as always and I'm about to purchase the Osmo Pocket course you put together. Quick question for you, I've seen mention of variable ND filters. Would you say they are a better choice when you need an ND filter?
I tried to get some but they were out of stock at the time. I think also maybe there has been some problems with the image quality. Maybe check some reviews and try one
That was good advice, thanks. Is there a way to film in log and while viewing it in rec709 on the Mimo app. Easy on the actual gimbal screen but not found it on the app, only seems to show it in the log colours
Thank you so much for this, I've just ordered the Osmo 3 and patiently waiting :D I had the first one but the quality and sound just wasn't great, and then I've been filming with my Micro 4/3 camera but it is just too much of a hassle so my RUclips channel has not been as active as I've wanted it to be. I feel that this camera + learning these tips and settings with help get me back on track with video! A quick question: Is it possible to have a specific set of settings for vertical filming (for Instagram stories etc) that are saved and activated as soon as you flip the camera from horizontal to vertical video? For example what you mentioned with using 30p for vertical. That would be quite handy :) thanks again!
What mic settings are you using for it pick up audio from within your shirt? I feel like sometimes it still sounds fuzzy if it's right near my mouth 🥲🥲
Hi, I have a question about the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 camera. Why does the file size of a video change during transfers? For example, a video file may show as 500 MB in the Mimo app, increase to 510 MB after being downloaded to a phone, and then decrease to 180 MB when transferred to a computer. Similarly, why does a file that starts at 500 MB decrease to only 100 MB when AirDropped from the Mimo app or a mobile device to a system? What causes these size changes? 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
I don’t know why whenever I use the DJI Mic 2, it always sounds so quiet in post.. When I put it in Final Cut Pro, even after I maxed out the volume, it’s still doesn’t catch my voice in the volume that I wanted aka still very quiet 🥲
If you record internally, the level will be very low. You will need to boost a lot in post but the signal is super clean, so you won’t have noise. Use the Gain audio effect to get more boost.
anyone figure out how to slow down autofocus shift speed? so when im walking it doesnt focus on every person and then snap back to whats ahead so noticabely?
I saw another video where the person was using the single focus. He was setting his initial focus to x feet, then move forward and use fences for reveal shots and the Osmo 3 would not go crazy.
I’m really close to just buying one but I wanted to use it for nature videos and cooking I haven’t seen anyone use it for that really on the cooking side so wondering what everyone’s opinions are seems awesome I usually just use my phone!
Brandon, I purchased the course. For the most part, I'm satisfied, but I wish you had spend more time teaching to shoot creative shots using FPV mode. Also, in the "Setup & Features Overview" section, it would have better to point the lens towards a dark surface, as it is quite hard to make out the white words on the pocket 3 LCD against the light brown wood. Please consider this as constructive criticism. I have been a fan of yours for a very long time. I implore you to update the course with an additional section on how to shoot more creative shots using the FPV mode.
the problem with pocket 3 is, every time I record myself, I look very skinny, almost like a fish eye effect, which is not good at all. However, when I use Sony Alpha 4, I look normal (not too skinny, no distortion), that's the difference between pocket 3 and Sony Alpha 4. Any solution?
Hello Brandon I hope this message finds you well. I just wanted to follow up on the email I sent yesterday regarding the issue I'm experiencing with the course I purchased from you. Your prompt assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

The new course is great, thank you!
Thank you!

Everyone is not poor like you lol
Has nothing to do with being poor, has everything to do with not needing expensive equipment to make great content.
Facts look at goonzquad they use a iPhone and have 2.62 million subscribers don’t need fancy gear to make it

I dont think that was the point of the comment to be honest.

In a tube of repetitive videos, this one was amazingly original and helpful

great video as always, can you do the same video for the action 4 please?
Informative indeed!
Cool tips. Do you know what the base ISO should be for D-log M?
Great video, love the channel.
I’m considering getting the pocket 3 for my RUclips travel videos, but can it shoot interviews as well? I’m really confused. Will really appreciate a reply to clear my doubts.
Will you do a lot of Insta360 Ace Pro videos in the future? Would love how to shoot and how to best use shot labs.
Love your videos...looking to buy this...and I need your videos to help. Awesome stuff lad. BTW, editing tools.....or post....what sw do you use?
Thanks! Resolve
Great video!!, Would you choose the pocket 3 or iPhone 15pm for a family vacation with kids?
Muy agradecido. Saludos desde España
Thanks for the great tips~! I heard Dlog-M is not DLog though. DJI has made it clear.
Hi! Do you mind sharing how to apply the DJI lut? Is that something we need to purchase separately?
Thank you for the tips!!! 🙂

Brandon, thank you so much for creating this amazing and helpful tutorial! 🥰🫶
Great video as always. I already purchased your Osmo Pocket course as I was super happy with gimbal course. Looking for a promo on Fusion course :)
That was good advice, thanks. Is there a way to film in log and while viewing it in rec709 on the Mimo app. Easy on the actual gimbal screen but not found it on the app, only seems to show it in the log colours
What brand u use of that mono selfie stick?
Hello Sir,
I will love to learn from you
thanks for sharing 😍😍
Nice video sir ❤

Is there a tutorial on adding the DJI LUT? this part confuses me
Exactly! Also, the app is only available on the phone
What mic settings are you using for it pick up audio from within your shirt? I feel like sometimes it still sounds fuzzy if it's right near my mouth 🥲🥲
There are no settings, it’s automatic
Cool!✌️
hi sir Brandon. I just got my osmo pocket 3, wondering what SD card suits best my osmo 3? thank you .
Not sure, but small differences in file size are normal. Large differences mean it’s being compressed during transfer.
Make sure you update your pocket
Hi, do the training videos have French subtitles like on RUclips?
anyone figure out how to slow down autofocus shift speed? so when im walking it doesnt focus on every person and then snap back to whats ahead so noticabely?
I saw another video where the person was using the single focus. He was setting his initial focus to x feet, then move forward and use fences for reveal shots and the Osmo 3 would not go crazy.
Is it still necessary to apply the DJI lut at post when you already used an ND filter?
Yes
I’m really close to just buying one but I wanted to use it for nature videos and cooking I haven’t seen anyone use it for that really on the cooking side so wondering what everyone’s opinions are seems awesome I usually just use my phone!
I enrolled in your film school years ago; is this course included?
Are you panning and tilt shots on 60FPS and slowed down to make it match 24FPS? Or are all those done on 24FPS?
24fps
If i were just to put dji lut on post prod how much different it will be compared shooting default profile ???
does anyone knows what kind of ND filters he use?
I cannot believe I'm watching this for free!!!
Is that thavorn palm beach resort?
Where can i get the LUTs for the d-log m edit?
good Vid
Why dlogM over HLG? Isn't HLG actually a wider color space and also a standard?
Does the OP3 have a base ISO?
How long is the video of the course?
Best SD card for pocket 3?
Questions that need answers
Where can I find the lut?
DJI website has it under downloads
@ thanks I just grabbed it. Great vids btw.
Brandon, I purchased the course. For the most part, I'm satisfied, but I wish you had spend more time teaching to shoot creative shots using FPV mode. Would you say the course is worth it? I’m considering purchasing it.
How many hours of video of the course ?
The afs is super important. After watching my vaca footage I have pans with really bad auto focus twitches
What about the auto focus? I notice when I shoot with the foreground or passing an object, the auto focus automatically adjusts which ruins the shot
Single mode
you are great! lucky pocket 3
I am sure YOU can do the same even with a phone
2:40 exposure looks good ? 😂 Alright then
You can shoot real estate with this sheesh
the problem with pocket 3 is, every time I record myself, I look very skinny, almost like a fish eye effect, which is not good at all.
However, when I use Sony Alpha 4, I look normal (not too skinny, no distortion), that's the difference between pocket 3 and Sony Alpha 4.
Any solution?
Hi Brandon I bought the course but I did not get the course in my gmail.
We’ll fix it! For support just email hello@unscripted.studio
Hello Brandon
I hope this message finds you well. I just wanted to follow up on the email I sent yesterday regarding the issue I'm experiencing with the course I purchased from you. Your prompt assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Is this video footage of the osmo?
Yes
