      Evan Kirkpatrick What happened with the foul call was this. The catcher sometimes blocks the umpire’s vision of that kind of pitch. As can the batter’s swing. Often, one has to try and listen for a sound, and the ball bouncing off the plate must have been what the plate umpire heard. Usually, the other umpires are just too far away to see it. Umpires don’t have the advantage of slo-motion replay from a different angle.

      stalinnnFor Timee not just Hernandez. CB Bucknor, Joe West, and Doug Eddings are all pretty bad as well. I’ll never forget when Joe West called Mark Buehrle for 2 straight balks, even tho he didn’t balk. Buehrle raised his arms in shock after he called a balk, didn’t even say a word, and West tossed him. Even the commentators said West is a disgrace to the umpiring community and should be suspended for that

    • @peterg5247
      @peterg5247 3 года назад

      You don't blame them for their actions? Acting like a child over disagreeing with a call and you don't blame them. Bad ump or good ump is a good enough excuse to act like a spoiled child?
      Try doing that at work or anywhere else when you're upset.
      Google the definition of the word professional.

    • @samputt5045
      @samputt5045 3 года назад +2

      Peter G first of all, I said “some”, not all. Second, Angel Hernandez, Joe West, CB Bucknor, and a couple of other umpires are the definition of “unprofessional.” They escalate situations when they don’t need to be, and they eject players for “showing up the umpire” when they’re in disbelief about the terrible call the umpire just made. Take for example Mark Buehrle. Joe West called a balk on him, and he put his hands behind his head in disbelief. Joe West threw him out for that. Ridiculous, right? I agree with you on some players. Manny Machado for example. Biggest idiot and baby in the MLB. Rugned Odor. How is he still playing baseball?! This comment was not intended for those players though. This comment was intended for the players that were in disbelief about the terrible call that the umpire made, and got thrown out somehow. If you read some of their lips, they are usually saying something along the lines of “that was a terrible call” or “that’s twice this game!” Not being a baby.

What's Bryce Harper's batting average? What's his walk to strikeout ratio? What's his RBI with RISP? Only thing he's got going for him is he's had two teams dumb enough to pay him loads more than he's worth. He's (apologies to Jay Bruce) Jay Bruce with a shit attitude.

      @Get Offended you really picked a good time to disagree with me sir. I didn't only mention batting average. I mentioned walk to strikeout ratio, RBI with RISP also. I don't care so much about home runs as the next guy, because if all your homers are solo jacks, they're nearly useless. If a man has 30 homers but only 30 RBIs, that's not gonna win too many games. I've been watching baseball longer than you've been alive son. I want to see a power hitter get at LEAST 3 times as many RBIs as homers, and at least walk way more than he strikes out. I hate that baseball has become ok with hitters striking out so much and so enamored with home runs.
