The adventurous Guinea pig No, it’s more obvious with bad calls
The adventurous Guinea pig idk, are you a guinea pig? When umpires make good calls, no one thinks anything of it, it’s expected from them because they’re in the major leagues. Bad calls are easier to remember
The adventurous Guinea pig There’s more of a reaction to bad calls as opposed to good calls
The adventurous Guinea pig Well officiated Game = Umpires wont be noticed
Poor officiated Game= Umpires will be remembered/noticed
That’s what I meant, More of a reaction to a bad call meaning that that umpire will be more likely to be noticed and remembered than an umpire who calls a good game

Mookies glove was pushed together not allowing for the catch that’s a good call.
Yea I saw that
I know. That was obvious.
Hypnotic Ghost his glove was out of play. That isn’t fan interference since it was over the fence
David Kamps that only applies when both feat are not on the warning track. If he had gone over the fence and caught it then it would be ruled an illegal play. But there is a rule specific to this situation. If the player has a reasonable attempt at catching the ball and a fan interferes then it is up to the umpire’s discretion. Imo that’s a good call because his glove was pushed together. And that ball was still in play.
@@12Charliesgaming12 If the ball is past that yellow line, it is in fan territory and is fair play for the fans to make a grab at it, closing his glove or not. It was a homerun
The call at 1:55 was literally perfect. He doesn't suck in that situation, he is just making the right call.
The fan didnt interfere with it. He clearly missed the ball lmao his glove would have either deflected the ball off his right or went into the fans hand.
@@Whatacomedian_ The fan didn't hit the baseballs they hit the glove. Notice how his glove suddenly closes, that's because it hit a fans hand. Take that hand away and he can make the catch. It was the correct call.
The minute his glove crosses the fence the fan can make contact. Didn't matter anyways because he wasn't going to catch that ball. Its a blown call in any scenario
@@Dannyk25 How could you say he wouldn't catch it? He obviously would have. The fan reached juuuust past the yellow line, which they have no right to do.
@@Whatacomedian_ If you'd look up the other angle where the camera looks down the wall instead of in front of it. The ball clearly past the wall a good foot or two. Fans can interfere all they want after it clears the wall. It was a horrible call and cost the home team the game. The sad thing was the umps looked at the replay at all angles and STILL botched the call. That's when I realized its rigged. Red Sox were pushed into the world series that year. MLB is a disgrace these days and the root of it is the officiating staff. Bring out the robots already.
Joe maddon is smart af, he argues with the umpire to buy time for the bullpen
Charles Hsu hell yes man major cubs fan here. He always does this especially in the 9th
That is exactly what he was doing and him directing the players to go to the mound is considered a trip and Joe called him on it and that is why he went out to argue. That rule is so specific that if the guy in the bullpen throws another pitch after the umpire calls him out of the bullpen then that pitch is deducted from the 8 warm up pitches.
Charles Hsu yeah his goal was to get ejected pretty much and just but Chapman some time
@@CH-qw6yy That was 2016 (as that was the only year Chapman was on the Cubs), they didn't have trips back then. Trips to the pitchers mound did not start to be recorded until 2018. Joe West was just being a dick here. He was trying to speed up the game. He was completely out of line.

Umps have way too much power. Just let the game happen. No one is there to see you and your calls.
The days in which the umpires wouldn't eject someone for looking at them need to come back. Old school umpires would allow managers and players present their grievances and only eject if they persisted or got especially heated.
