Addendum edit (For those who want to know everything and then some): ● The rules of Bullpen Chicken are as follows: During the game, as the pitchers are sitting in the bullpen, either on the bench along the wall or on folding chairs in front of the bullpen mound, they face the batter. If a foul ball comes their way, the object is to remain as still as possible, regardless of how close the ball comes to them, or even if it hits them. ● An official winner was never declared. However if a player did take a ball to the face, and didn't flinch, they would have been declared the winner. ● Bullpen chicken was started by the bullpen catcher Chad Noble in 2015, and then resurrected by reliever Travis Wood. ● Management did know about the game, but did not publicly disavow or stop it. ● The plan to move the bullpen to under the bleachers was already planned as part of a large scale, long term renovation of Wrigley Field, it wasn't done because of the bullpen's antics. ● Most importantly: The ball did strike Wood on the calf, and he did pitch in the 9th that day, where the Cubs won 6-1

jhanks2012 I’m not so sure. I’m from Denver. Arenado is a helluva shortstop. He could have potentially gunned that ball to 1st, even after applying the tag and ended the inning. I think. I could be wrong, but it’s not unheard of?
To be fair, it was the Wild Card game, bottom of the 11th and there was still a runner on second after the play, so it's understandable that Matt (the announcer who was calling the play) was confused as to why Arenado wouldn't just turn 2 and end the inning, with the extremely high stakes and all.

I had been in this country for a year ( Ireland) the old man took us to a game, my first, there was a rain delay, and several players came over to the wall (third base line) and taught us to play quarter's. My first lasting memory of this country, God bless baseball.

i think that carlos gomez one was a bit of playing off the pain. he tried to look okay but his body wasnt okay for a second. it looked like a perfect kidney or liver shot and those just lock you up for a moment. still pretty funny tho
Favorite part of any sport, where the players can take a moment to relax from all frustration of wanting to win, and the losses. After all it's just a game, even if it's a professional one it's still a game
