  • In this Pre-Wash video we discuss when you should consider using a Traffic Film Remover (TFR) during your Pre-Wash stage rather than just using a Snowfoam. With heavy contamination during the winter months this video demonstrates how a TFR may remove more surface contamination allowing you to have a safer wash stage.

    I have used citrus power for awhile and agree it is great at removing road grime. If you have a coating, wax , or sealant on and have a pressure washer and keep on top of your winter washes you can keep your cars clean without even touching the paint apart from drying off. Great product.

    a great comparo, i've been waiting for someone to do this test just to confirm my own findings. I use avalanche and citrus, how ive been using them is citrus on lower panels then foaming avalanche over the top, but i've never really been so sure citrus actually does much more than avalanche on a coated car. I was thinking of perhaps using an actual apc as a pre wash on a really dirty car - shouldn't affect a coating

    • @VProjectUKDetailing
      @VProjectUKDetailing  4 года назад +1

      Hi Sam Cas - Yes in our experience a citrus based APC should remove more contamination than a snow-foam. Trick is to use snow-foam on light to medium contamination, and an APC on heavy contamination (or on sections of a vehicle which have heavy contamination). A good snow-foam or APC shouldn’t affect any protection layers. However do not spray snow foam over the APC. The whole point of spraying the APC is you want it to clean as best as possible. By spraying the snow-foam over the APC just dilutes the APC and doesn’t give it the best chance to clean. Wait till you’ve rinsed the APC then apply a snow-foam if necessary. Hope this makes sense. Thanks for watching and subscribing. We hope you enjoy the future videos 👍🏽

    Would love to see you re-do this comparo with dynamite

    • @VProjectUKDetailing
      @VProjectUKDetailing  3 года назад +1

      sam cas - Dynamite is effectively a concentrated citrus based TFR version of Citrus Power. The only difference is that where Citrus Power is ready to use you can dilute Dynamite from 1:1 ~ 1:10 depending on the strength you need. Diluting Dynamite to the same strength as Citrus Power will yield the same results - but diluting it to a higher concentration would have stronger cleaning results 👍🏽🏎💯

    Another great vid 👍 So, the obvious questions, if an APC is that much better should we no longer bother with snowfoaming? Would the result of using them both one after other be any better than just the APC? I'd love to see this exact same test with Bilt Hamber Surfex HD and their Auto Foam!

    • @VProjectUKDetailing
      @VProjectUKDetailing  3 года назад +1

      SteveRabbits - Thanks! 👍🏽 As you can most probably see this was our second ever video 😎. APC’s on most occasions would clean better than snow foams but they are not as paint protection friendly. Although APC’s may deteriorate the protection itself slowly they tend to be hydrophobic property killers! It’s really a case of knowing what pH your snow foam of choice is. Alkaline snow foams clean better than pH neutral snow foams. The advantage of pH neutral foams is that they don’t affect paint protection much - if at all, but the flip side is that they clean less effectively so there’s a greater chance of surface contamination remaining which could then scratch your paintwork during the contact wash stage. We would only use an APC on heavily soiled vehicles as snow foams alone will be less effective 👍🏽. Surfex HD + Auto Foam could be a future video but having used this combination already it’s very effective 👍🏽 ... so in a nutshell only use an APC if you have to cause it will affect your paint protection more rapidly but it’s use is more necessary on heavy soiling to prevent scratching during the wash stage.

    Ive a anti corrosion film on my engine and other metal components on my motorbike, will using multiple AF cleaning products remove my anto rust film?.

    • @VProjectUKDetailing
      @VProjectUKDetailing  4 года назад +1

      Hi BlueKnight001. AF Avalanche contains some AF Citrus Power, and AF Citrus Power is safe for use in sensitive applications such as motorbikes. However, although AF Citrus Power won’t affect waxes or sealants it does have a degreasing action e.g. when cleaning oily engine bays, so it really depends on the base carrier of your anti-rust film?, e.g. is it water based? Or solvent based? If it’s water based you should be fine but I would guess your anti-rust film will most likely be solvent based. I would either test AF Citrus Power in a small area first, or use AF Citrus Power then re-apply the anti rust film if it’s a simple spray on application. AF Avalanche should be fine to use and will clean very well. Hope this helps 👍🏽

    • @VProjectUKDetailing

      Hi BlueKnight001 ... I’m fairly sure you should be fine with either Citrus Power, and/or Avalanche. They are both pH neutral so shouldn’t strip your anti-rust film. Hope this helps 👍🏽

    • @migsteele
      @migsteele 4 года назад

      BlueKnight001 are you using act50 or Xcp rust blocker? I use them and they are sticky as hell, so require cleaning more often, if you’re riding the bike and not leaving it in the garage. Typically I find that an application every 3 months for the rust protection. But that is me riding everyday for work (when not in lock down) and cleaning every 2-4 weeks weather depending. Washing often is essential alongside the rust blockers. Sometimes if it’s particularly grim outside, I will spray the bike down with a hose just to dilute and clear out the salt solution from the roads before going in the house.

    • @seanviper99
      @seanviper99 4 года назад +1

      @@migsteele using ACF50, watch few videos, bike gets totally cleaned first obviously then sprayed all over metal and wipe off excess, some people let it drip over night but you can let it hot dry in after you've sprayed it on by turning on the bike and ride same day you've applied it

    Could you add citrus power in with the snowfoam?

    • @VProjectUKDetailing
      @VProjectUKDetailing  2 года назад +1

      Ben Crampton - Avalanche already contains some Citrus Power! We would advise against it - if you have enough contamination that you need to use a TFR instead of a snow foam then adding it to a snowfoam only dilutes it - use it as intended for full performance. Hope that makes sense 👍🏽🚗🙏🏽

    • @VProjectUKDetailing
      @VProjectUKDetailing  3 года назад

      Haroon Khan - In theory ‘yes’. But - you are better off buying the new AutoFinesse Dynamite which is effectively a concentrated version of Citrus Power. You can dilute Dynamite to the required strength and use this. It will be more cost effective. You will need to consider the PIR though. We have a video covering this subject. However, these TFR’s are not more effective when they foam so you are better off just using them in a trigger sprayer or pressure sprayer. If you’ve not subscribed please make sure you do 👍🏽😎

      The Private Life Of Plants - The whole point of this comparison was to show the effectiveness of the products.
