Be carful Graeme, be very carful, you could be invited to join my snow foam cynic club🤣. Great video mate. As you know my go to pre wash is HDD Road Rage.
I am very much a snow foam cynic now mate 😅 if these citrus clean better using it in the lance I may never bother buying another snowfoam EVER 🤔 Only weird thing is I found Road Rage works better as a spray than a foam 😤
I’d certainly take a leaflet! 😂 Haven’t bothered with snowfoam on the last few washes I’ve done - it’s becoming a bit more of an extra step that isn’t necessarily benefitting me
Good video Graham, i helped my neighbour clean his red Audi last weekend that hadn't been cleaned in over 2 years !!!! & he does heavy mileage. He has a really really cheap low power pressure washer so we used my Road Rage at 20:1 with no pre rinse or snow foam.. The results were truly remarkable after the power rinse off, i stopped him using Fairy Liquid for the contact wash & again supplied him with some GT One shampoo. He had no rinse bucket but the water & sponge showed absolutely any signs of dirt. The car actually looked beautiful for a 15 year old neglected & abused vehicle.. For me Road Rage is unbeatable in terms of cleaning ability & price.
I was just saying to Martin that Road Rage wasn’t as effective as a foam but as a spray it’s brilliant , I think this is leading to a test of 5 citrus pre washes on the rear of the car when it’s dirty enough 😅
@@GMDetails Yes Graham, i've never even considered using Road Rage in a foam cannon but if you had seen the results on my neighbours car with a sprayer you would have been mightily impressed. I actually think it's better than Surfex HD.
Really interesting testing there Graeme and brilliantly edited together 👌🏼 I don't like having to use a 2nd hit of pre-wash but I'm even less of a fan of caustic products. I used Spritzer myself in my Quick Test Tuesday series (in fact it was the first ever episode) and found it to be a decent product, not the best pre-wash I've ever used but certainly worthy of a spot on the shelves 👌🏼 The fact that the Shiny Garage one dissolved the label in transit doesn't really convince me that I'd want to put it on my car too often!
Thanks Mark!, I’d forgotten you’d tried it way back in episode 1 of QTT, Well I’ve already tried a few citrus pre washes now so maybe I’ll start the quest for what’s better than Spritzer 😅 The shiny garage doesn’t seem to be any more caustic than Garage Therapy Zero Decon, something between 1-3% realistically 🤔
Great bit of testing there with lots considered and planned out as usual with your vids mate. I was initially surprised at the results you were getting as I expected both to perform much better but it was great to see at the end you mentioning how one had performed better on a different day.👌 Just shows you can't always just slap a product on and base a solid review on one use🧐
Another top video Graeme, for this winter grime a good citrus is the way forward, I haven’t used any of the 2 you used today however what you mention about different results on different days is so true, sometimes I use a product and think is fantastic then go to use it a week later on a different car and get completely different results!
Thanks Dave!, I def think I’m going to stop pre rinsing and pre spray citrus instead , only thing is reviewing other brands snowfoam this will alter results of the foam 😤
Thoroughly excellent video Graeme. I was definitely much happier with spritzer when I used it last and citrus oil looks decent too. Also proves the need for a pressure washer I think too. Keep em coming 👍🏻
Thanks Ben!, it was certainly a tough task for the products , left the dirt a bit too long but there are people who don’t clean their cars at all during winter and really struggle when the time comes to peel off months of crusty grime, results on the day were ok but I have seen them perform better but I’m intrigued now to try surfex, Autofoam and Toochless as a spray not foam, cleaner for cheaper maybe?, more tests needed 😀
Great video, Graeme 👍 Incredibly informative as ever! Good point about the pour style tests - definitely important to understand why that’s not a normal testing method
It ‘can’ be if it’s realistic, like somewhere around 30-50ml of solution would be quite realistic to expect from an IK sprayer on a panel but not if you’re pouring 250ml it’s just unrealistic and may show the product performing better than it would normally If people doing these kinds of tests would only be honest about what they’re doing and not trying to win points or favours off brands 😤
Really enjoyed this video ,especially the testing I think Spritzer is a good product but when it comes to pre wash products I much prefer HDD Road Rage or Surfex ,looking forward to more tests like these 👏👏👏
Both are brilliant as a pre-wash or foaming pre-wash. I think the Shiny Garage just edges it for me when it comes to cleaning ability. Both give Autofoam a run for it's money at the same dilution which is the biggest compliment you can give any pre-wash 👍
Great video. Interesting as I am considering which route to go regarding pre wash as snowfoam Dosent cut the mustard this time of year. Do like the idea of a foaming citrus to give a bit of bit and dwell.
Hi Graeme, i hope you are well. Bit unrelated to this video but i could do with some help / opinions. My location in Devon has a hosepipe ban that is likely to last for a long time (areas in Cornwall have been restricted since last August). Detailing is such a passion for me so i need to come up with new processes that reduces as much risk as possible for cleaning my cars and motorbikes. It appears that garages will still have accessible jet washes so if this is the case my nearest option is 5 miles away. I could get to a garage do a dry pre-wash via say some IK sprayers using SurfexHD topped with a snow foam and then jet wash. When home continue a process if the condition of the roads are favorable. I live in a rural area that makes this hobby very challenging for much of the year, in the winter i often use completely contactless cleaning regimes at times when the local lanes have been ridiculously dirty and maybe this approach will have to suffice for periods😪. I have considered rinseless, but have major reservations even if my vehicles are cleanish i would probably not enjoy / spend more time trying to clean the huge quantity of cleaning cloths / mit's etc that i would probably go through. A water Butt might be possible longer term if i can get one in the right location (doubtful) plus concerns that any contamination in the Butt could be filtered effectively before being sprayed onto a vehicle (water would come from a stone tiled roof, so not great). Sorry if this is a bit long winded, i'm in a quandary as to the way ahead. Best wishes.
Hi Tim, aw man that’s a real conundrum!! Water butts are more hassle than they’re worth in my opinion as you have the filtration to change / clean and the worry of legionella How about a pressure washer with a suction hose like Karcher have to use with a 20L bucket that way you’re not using a hosepipe? Other than that I would think using waterless or rinseless Wash to be your last chance in detailing 😭 Or move house 😅 Seriously tho I would forget all about snowfoam and stick with Surfex / Autofoam and use it through a pressure sprayer at your local garage maybe once a month , then using ONR to do a rinseless wash every weekend until you can get back to the garage pressure washer might be the best plan there Good luck mate

Hi Graeme I use citrus pre wash topped with snow foam normally but on a really dirty car I use M & K HD Snow followed by Snow and get good results from that combination. To be honest I have never used citrus leave to dwell and rinse but I might do some testing myself sometime and see what my results are.
