Enzo owned an early E-Type Coupe Garaged away from the factory. He rode his bike to it, late evenings, after Grappa with his old pedal bike racing cronies Felt it more BEAUTIFUL than the GTO.. After the Carlo Chitti schism... I wonder who as it today?? J.C.
@@sorry-but-im-italiano5958 Enzo allowed 4 door ferrari be made for a king and lots of special Ferrari in various colors rotting in the Sultan of Brunei's various garages. He only cared about his money he lost the love for cars long before his death I'd dare say even before his sons died coming how he depreciated Ferruccio Lamborghini as a peasant farmer that only knew of tractors.
One of my all time favourite videos. That Engine sounds like it was designed by God. Look at the keyring, the driver is sawing away at the wheel but the car is so smooth in every stage, never shifting its attitude in and out of corners. Absolutely awesome skill!
The human perceived mastery of steering input, brake, clutch etc in videos like this just affirm my love of this sport. We'll never be perfect driving machines but trying to get close is sometimes a beautiful thing to behold.
I do not think the owner would ever make it a trailer queen... The owner never owned a real, original GTO, so he built one for himself. He bought a 1960s Ferrari 250 GTE, modified the bits like the engine, gearbox, suspension to match the GTO specs, then built a new chassis and bodywork to place all of it in. All this just so he can have a GTO of his own...
IIRC, this engine had two sets of dual points, stacked on top of one another. The distributor was a work of mechanical art. Each set timed the even & odd cylinders separately, 60° out of phase.
The sound that engine makes is incredible - like having Pavarotti singing Nessun Dorma right in front of you. The McLaren F1 is another fabulous engine as well, we need a side by side comparison just because it would be awesome.
This driver is awesome. Not only are they really matching those revs with lightening speed and precision but cars from that period were not known for being light to drive or shift. Masterclass on the drivers part.
I wish we had some HD footages, both onboard and trackside, with A-level sound from the 60s when they were racing these things at full tilt around the wildest circuits...that would blow some minds
The most expensive was actually the "Serie 1" (designed by Bizzarrini), which was waaay more beautiful that the "Serie 2" (designed by Scaglietti), this exact car. The scaglietti was a mix between the Bizzarrini and the 250 LM.
This is such an old car yet the shifting is sooo smooth and soo quick! My heart is beating soo fast, what I would do to get one lap in this perfect car.
Went to my favorites list on youtube wanting to see this beauty again and it wasn't there... I cannot believe i forgot to add it to favorites.... Someone slap me
I love watching this driver clutch and shift! He is an expert at old school driving! Put any of the modern top drivers, who are used to paddle shifting, and no clutch, and that driver probably would blow an engine or a gearbox within 2 laps!
I really wish they still made cars like this. Remove the safety, electronic nannies, and smog requirements. I just want a pure driving experience back. My S2000 is the closest I will ever come to this
This is how Enzo wanted his cars to be used. Respect for doing so.

Not a real one..
Its a 250 GTO Series II recreation.
That's the most beautiful engine sound i've ever heard, BY FAR.

Just by the way this car's being driven, I can say the owner deserves it.
An exemplary example of how good one camera can be.
Love how "floaty" the car seems through the corners. Excellent driving, good to see the car being driven properly.
It’s dancing the whole way
That car is way quicker than I thought
300 cv on 880 kg
It even had disc brakes all round
Surprisingly yes!
Remember - the GTO was a track car that just happened to be road legal!
@@paulcaswell2813 back in the day you just needed some lights and seatbellts and your car was road legal
Amazing how flexible this v12 is! Doing a 4th gear dig from low in the Rev band and it just pulls light hell out on exit. Fantastic sounds
No grass talk, no stupid music nor nonsemsical camera angles, just the right stuff, ideal automotive video.
Nothing like it! The raw feel, the sound. No electronic trickery. My favorite car!
This footage is perfect. Even the small vibrations make you feel you're in the car.
Must of replayed this at least 5 times. Man what an amazing sounding engine, the rev match downshifts sound incredible too
absolutely shocking how insanely good it sounds and revs! one of the best engine sounds ever
This video deserves 1000000 views !!! Super!
that 3 liter V12 sounds so good!

It's amazing that the Ferrari V12s 50 years later sound incredibly similar to this.
That's some driving right there. Amazing machine.
Ill say it again. You are producing some of the greatest content on RUclips at the moment. This video is 5 years old!
Wonderful to see classic cars getting a real spanking round wonderful race tracks. Well done, well driven, great viewing.
It's great seeing these old race cars doing what they were designed to do, instead of just being fawned over. Thanks for sharing.
One of the most amazing videos I ever saw!
Awesome! That's some serious skill, and confidence 😉, right there!
One of the best onboard view and exhaust sound I’ve seen and heard, honey for my ear. Thank you!
You’re very welcome!
The keychain works perfectly like a g-meter!

Awesome car, great driving, awesome video. And this GTO came equipped with the analog g-meter, attached to the ignition key.
Wow I didn’t expect it to be so quick. Looks fast enough to stand up to a lot of the modern track cars.
Amazing how this car is from 1961! Unbelievable. Truly breathtaking
Just watching this car move is beautiful! Great bit of driving and thanks for not making this a garage queen!
I do not think the owner would ever make it a trailer queen...

Wow... Considering this car is over 50 yrs. old... It still shows how much power it can give.
A GT40 owner disliked this video...
This is not the Ferrari that the GT40 had beaten.
@Holden Tudiks Yeah I think, but I'm exactly not sure that the Daytona is the one that raced alongside the 250 GTO.
@Holden Tudiks *330 P3 and 330 P4.
Amazed by the high rev sound and how the transmission responses, even if blindfolded(I thought it's a 575).
That steering wheel fits wonderful on this car.
What an amazing driver showing what these beautiful car where made to do! Race

The pinacle of Ferrari in my opinion. I have loved the car since I found it as a diecast model as child. The design, engine and philosofy is peak.
This will be perfect for my alarm clock. What a way to start the day! Super-Nice!!
What a beautiful sound! Best sounding engine ever ❤
Take a look at the key chain in the ignition and how at times it goes horizontal.
A, the "old" Zandvoort circuit, lovely car, lovely sound, lovely circuit.
