Yes that's nice and all.... but where are the Straightaways ? I want to hear that thing sing. It may be because of too much traffic...... I really wanted to hear it stretch its legs.
I'm lucky enough to have been taken for a ride in an original GT40, and I have to say, it has ruined almost every other car for me. Simply an amazing experience.
I know what you mean and it sucks, I had it with a Lotus I owned and was stupid enough to sell. Even tho I drive a car now thats even a lot faster it's not the same experience, I want one back so badly and will probably in a couple years when I am in my early midlife crisis haha.
@@DESTRAKON it was complete sensory overload. You can hear every part doing its job. The intake noise alone is worth whatever the car cost. Hearing it transition from cruising at partial throttle to wide open throttle acceleration is intoxicating. Partial throttle almost makes it sound like its gargling fuel, the engine a bit unhappy. Once the pedal goes down, it smooths out, and pins you to the seat until you run out of rpm. It's amazing!
@@Vichislitel I was thinking the same thing. That movie was very good but it had not a single moment that truly captured the nature of the cars and the racing.
@@mgdavid1380 I mean what is the actual difference between a replica and an authentic GT40 aside from its age?If it's built to the same spec, i'd consider it a GT40.
7 years ago when I did the first 289 head for a original gt40 or Cobra to be raced at Goodwood ....I: 1th , never heard of Goodwood and thought : 2th ..why race a 3 million dollar car ???? You can ruin it.. Till I saw the races and thought : THATS RACING!!!!!! Some owners race an original car but almost never the original engine. Matching numbers is roughly 30 percent more value . Meaning if the original engine is ruined irreparable .......the car owner looses say 600k or so......
This is the pinnacle of racing, no computers or driver assistance just man and machine. Just watching this you can see it is on the edge all the time with the driver pushing everything to the limit and only his skill and fast reactions to keep the car under control. They may not be the fastest cars now but they are still the most entertaining to watch by miles.
That’s effing insane. The skill level, to drive those cars, like that, in those conditions, in amongst slower traffic, is truly ridiculous. Racers are different animals.
Could feel the emotions from this video; angst, fear, doubt. Above all you could see the drivers had some big b alls out there and drove like it was meant to...mega great video again Robbert!
I have it running just as audio, not watching the video, while working in office. Perfect soundtrack to relax and stay focused. Feels like there are tears of joy dropping out of my ears. Wonderful. Thanks for uplaoding. And big respect to the driving skills of those people. Purely lovely.
I initially couldn't believe they still ran actual races, let alone endurance ones, with such a legendary grid of cars that I had to look up the event site. What a lineup! Thank you for having me discover that this event exists. These drivers are absolute chads to be pushing these legends to the limit.
I can scarcely believe this is real footage. Just a decade ago a picture like that only appeared in into videos to racing games. And the stuff that's happening on track, man oh man. Absolutely sublime.
Beautiful. I experienced the 6H of Spa in 17' and it was truly something special, just like your films. What else is there to say other than to keep it up!
Magnificent Drive. Ragged edge of control when it was sunny and dry. True talent in the stormy night. Thanks for not ruining the epic sound.track of that V8.
This is may not look eye-catching to most people but honestly this was so cool to me. The sound, the lights, the smell of petrol, that's an S tier video right there.
What an absolute masterpiece of automotive cinematography. The raw sound of the engine, the gear shift, rain, lighting and on the edge racing. Just fantastic 😇
Freaking amazing, this ticked every box for me. Gorgeous cinematography and totally captured the rawness of driving a GT40. The immersion I felt while watching this was incredible.
Just stumbled on this video- Fantastic work! As both active racer and historic Motorsports fan I must say you captured the essence and distilled it down perfectly! Judging by others’ comments on the channel this doesn’t seem to be coincidence either- subscribed👍
this was a cinematic masterpiece... somehow capturing the actual feeling of the moment. No other automotive related media, whether it be movies, youtube, or anything else, has given me the visceral feeling of actually being in the car, on the track, like real life, until this. Incredible cinematography work! just got to the part where it's overcast and beginning to get wet. INCREDIBLE car control. You can really tell you're pushing the edge of grip both based against yourself and how you're driving, as well as based on the overtakes. Even with the spin, handled it beautifully, got back on, and didn't seem to damper the attack you have. That stint with the other white gt40 was NICE. Kept on them well and could tell they were feeling the push. Was the spin, from what it looked like, from you trying to downshift 4th to 2nd with a double rev match in between? Maybe it just hooked up a bit too much (coming from a drifting scene it's a great way to get lock-up but often just gives way too much snap oversteer) Last but not least, great dodge on the yellow gt40. Car seemed to actually handle the gravel pretty well! INSANE driving!
Absolutely fantastic, I had to share the video with a great friend of mine, and I know she will love it. Those cross ply radial tyres are a handful when the rain starts to come down. The skill set to try keep something like that on track in those conditions is just a task in itself. Thank you so much for such a great video have loved the GT40 for decades the sound and how they look just perfect.
Gosh! If I had known you were in Francorchamps I would have come! It's partly thanks to you and your videos that I started working on it! I would have been honored to shake your hand! Nice video, as always!
How do you have only 15k subs!?!? The things you create are not only some of highest quality, most cinematic automotive media I've ever seen, but just media in general! This is some real talent and I really hope you get the recognition you deserve.
Finally a video on track. No music, not a drag strip, and real racing. I sure miss the GT40 I use to have way back when. Seams like rain always shows up on one of these racing events. A true test of skills to keep it right side up. Thanks for posting.
