- This video will show you how to use some basic statistical functions in Microsoft Excel, including calculating the Mean, Median, Mode, Max, Min, Range, and Standard Deviation for a data set, as well as how to create a frequency table and histogram. This video is an instruction manual for my engineering students, so if you are using this for your own knowledge, please excuse the sections on saving, exporting, and submitting.
Thank you. This video so very easy to follow, and incredibly helpful. Normally videos on this topic are off-putting, but yours was engaging and approachable. Thanks again.
Excellent work and kindness overload. Thank you a lot, Teacher
Thank you so much, this video was really helpful to me.
It's very detailed and very clear. Thankyou!💓

You deserve a super like
Wonderful!
I Thank GOD 😇 and I thank you 😉 That was REALLY good Do you KNOW of any more examples/samples in a series Or can you recommend a good book Let me know I look forward to hearing from you 😎
Thank you so much
Thank you
Thxxx
thank u i am in tears
Thank u
why im hearing sirens in the background
I thought it was a crying baby
It's his laptop fan
anyway we can zoom for help with mine?
This is a great tutorial but what about for analysies of Categorical Data rather than purely mathematical/cumulative data? Eg. from my studies the other day I compiled a list of Several hundred infants (although many cases are from years ago so not now) Diagnosed with Retinopathy of Prematurity. It lists Sex, Birth weight, birth weeks, Right eye and left eye levels of the condition, treatment given, Presence of Cerebral Palsy, Presence of other disabilities, final visual outcome right and left eye respectively. However most of these categories are just Categorical and not numerical ie ( CP- Yes/No, Level of ROP- 1, 2, 3, 4a, 4b, 5 etc, Treatment needed- Y/N, Treatment Type-Laser, Injection, Encerclage, Lenssparing Vitrectomy, Lensectomy Vitrectomy, Cryo etc) (jargon not important) but as you see most of this is not numerical.
If I wanted to do a statistical analysis of these eg. CP frequency by ROP type, Sex vs ROP Level, Birth-weight and Treatment, eg compare a variety of columns too each other, how would I go about a task like this? Sorry if you already covered this in another video, if so just link it.
Thankyou
Can anyone explain is the bin step is necessary ?
how do I use functions if my data set is more than 255 cells
You would select the first cell in the column you are using and press Cntrl, shift, and the down arrow at the same time. This should select all of the values in the column from the first row you select all the way to the bottom of the sheet
Bins data are different from 1st column data ? I don't understand.
Yes they are different. bins are for frequency data or histogram. To create bins we have to set a fix class interval among all the values but it should be such that it shouldn't exceed the original data values( must be between min and max) Carefully observe the interval and also see the 1st and last value of bin which ensure the values are between the range of original data. Once we fix a class interval then we don't care about how many bins should be formed, they continue forming upto the max value. Hope you got it.
