I try to only take videos that are high quality and fun to watch. Sometimes I can't find a video that explains things just right, so I've made a few of my own too. This video is to help my architecture students create a framing plan from a normal floor plan view in Autodesk Revit 2024. It shows how to create parts from walls, create a filter to hide parts with certain characteristics, and how to apply that filter to a drawing view so all non-wood layers of the wall can be hidden.

Does/should the short section line exist where it goes through the hole? I wonder if this is one of those things with two school of thought. I was taught you don't put section lines on air, only on the object.

I'm pretty sure I got these files from the VEX robotics website. They provide CAD models for their parts and pieces. I might have just needed to tolerance the holes a little to get them working with the metal parts

What is the perforated iron on which you assemble the parts called?
All of this hardware comes from Vex robotics kits
Im making a steam engine and my governor is driven by a big pulley to a small pulley, and when i make it turn it drags a considerable amount of energy. Now im wondering if it has to do with using a rubber band instead of a regular belt that is not elastic. Do you think that the extreme elasticity on the rubber band makes it harder to rotate?
Do you know if the wheels are moving at the same rate of speed despite rpms?

Copper is NOT a ferromagnetic or magnetic material and as such cannot be attracted to a magnet as you have shown in your video. Otherwise a nice project. .
