I think the reason why people find statistics (and math in general) daunting is because usually lecturers and textbooks present the big scary formulas in the first step, and that puts up a mental barrier of understanding with the student. You've explained it very well here without introducing any formulas. Of course, eventually we do need the formulas, but it's far more important to get a grasp of what and why we are doing it first, and then the formulas come in.

      Really great breakdown.
I have a question. All of these methods test for statistical significance based on a sample or samples selected at random.
but I can’t get past the problem here. All sampling is not random. There is always some form of selection bias. Method of data selection, availability of data being sampled, voluntary participation biases, …. These degrade randomness, meaning samples are not selected at random from any population.
Wouldn’t that effect the validity of theses significance tests??

No words in this word can describe how much I appreciate the existence of this video. This is among the few of the BEST educational videos I have seen on this platform, or any other platforms....I was taking notes all along, and it serves as an incredibly clear outline for introduction of statistics for someone who has never taken a statistics course but needs it for research. This is the type of video I will 100/100 recommend to others when they need a summery like me. No joke, top 1 on my list, 100% will recommend. I mean, the video itself, the representation, everything is perfect to the point I really, really have no idea how this popped up in my recommendation and only has some nine thousand views!!!! All statistics students, even non statistics student should see this......!! This is the type of content I would wish I can make if I do start making educational videos one day!!! Thank you for being such an inspiration!!!!!!!!

I am sure there are a lot of more technical details behind it but it is not necessary to communicate them in order to understand the main message of the video. Thanks much for setting such an elegant example. This is encouraging for myself to pursue and do something similar. Once again thanks for the content, very illustrative.

Furthermore, the summary table at 3:12 claims to have an upper range or 1.7 for males, but this value isn't actually in the data set on the left. You remind me of Hal Emmerich from MGS 4. A genius! The editing of the video and your explanation are outstanding. Thank you!

Thank you - You explained this in simple terms that even I can understand. It could be marketed under the “for Dummies” flagship; however I feel much smarter now ;).

This is without a doubt the best video out there. I believe it is because it has very clear animations to accompany it. ...I could literally run an inferential statistic on that now.

thing is my teacher stretches it out so much that by the end of the class you wonder what the hell it was about. Then when you look it up online there’s always someone explaining it in a few minutes. He makes it harder than it needs to be smh.

The background music on this video makes it very hard for me to concentrate, the content seems great so I'm sad i'm missing out. This is just a reminder to consider neurodivergent people's in your content :)
