Best photography channel I’ve found on RUclips Gary, and I’ve searched most of them I reckon. You’re explanation is simple for people like me, while achieving outstanding results! Thank you 🙌
Superb Gary, you have a fabulous way of demonstrating your process and have an enthusiasm that keeps everything very interesting 😊 I totally loved seeing your final edit with the power lines removal and adding the lights to the flying saucer 😁😊
Love a night of light painting and light trails. I have to say, though, that music at the end! I thought I was about to fight a final boss 🤣🤣 as ever enjoyed this vlog. Also that is some crazy photoshop work at the end. I wouldn't have a clue how to do that.
Top video, Gary, and stunning images! Not done this myself, yet, but one thought that crossed my mind as you were setting up, was to prep your lens and any filters before getting to the bridge, or certainly away from the edge!
great location Gary and just like Ferrybridge, if they ever decide to demolish the old Forton tower, then you have images that shows it prior to the demolition.
Thank you for explaining in such a way it was easy for me to understand. Love the end results and the lights added to the tower certainly added to the picture. Also thought the B&W images were outstanding.
I've been half considering trying something a bit like this, since I have a freeway overpass just a few minutes away. This video has convinced me to give it a go!
@@GaryGough yes it does Gary medium format and large format but the can’t afford it I can barely afford 35mm film now that the prices have been jacked up so high.
Another great video Gary. I remember your first video on this and this one is just as good. I have just got to get my arse in gear and try it lol. Great final image's.
I remember doing this with a friend, probably 25+ years ago. All went well until someone sent the police to see what we were doing 🤣. I don't think they'd bother tuning up now. Good fun to do as the sun goes down.
Love doing night photography because you never know what you have until you see it. I bet you were called some choice words by drivers thinking speed camera operator.
i did the light trails last week at your other location [Ferrybridge] i got some good results for my first attempt, but its not as good there now since the cooling towers were knocked down, but a good location for practice as i only live round corner
Holy Cats, this one is out of the park. I've done some PP with wires and windows. Not your usual nice beach. Freakin loud yes, but a good result. I would have turned my hearing aids off. Is there a US version?
Great vlog, Gary. I enjoyed your first light trails video as well. I think I will wait in the spring and summer to try some as Canadian winters can be brutal in the evening and night times. :)
Hi Gary, another great video and images as usual. I would have loved to have tried this however, I can no longer do my photography hobby due to the medication for osteomyelitis, medication has resulted in the loss of feeling in my fingers. On the upside, I can still watch and follow you on your RUclips channel. I’ve always said I have loved to meet you for some photography lessons. But I guess that’s now out of the question due to my loss of feeling in my fingers. He is a bit of useless information for you about the tower at the services. The services is notable for an unusual hexagonal concrete tower on the northbound side, named The Pennine Tower, which originally housed an up-market restaurant and a sun deck. The tower was designed to resemble an air Ttraffic control tower and is a prominent local landmark. The tower is 74 ft across. The tower closed to the public in 1989 due to current fire regulations (there is no means of providing an alternative exit from the restaurant deck in an emergency), and is only used for storage and occasional staff training. The tower was built to give views over Morecambe Bay to the west and the Trough of Bowland to the east. Recently, Moto has refreshed the services. The tower has been painted in a beige colour and one of the passenger lifts has been refurbished. The tower was listed Grade II on 15 October 2012. Looking forward to your next vlog. Graham
Nice one Gary and great images. Stood in the same spot a couple of weeks ago. Have to agree, it really is a simple as you say. I didn't wait around until nine though. I'm not that mad. 🤣🥶
Do you ever experience hit pixels on the long exposures? I was capturing long exposure lightning shots the other night on my Canon R6 and noticed colored dots on my images. I was told they were hot pixels.
Always do love your Motorway Long Exposure images Gary, I’d love to go to the one near Wakefield, but it’s a little too far for me whereas this is just up the road for me really. I’ve a list of about 50 Motorway Bridges but most are either closed or boring compositions. Always remember those services from being lIttle, just wish the “UFO” was still in action
Great work as always, but did you leave your filter on as to soften the glare of the oncoming headlights? And just thought I'd say, as a trucker I'm up and down that stretch of motorway everyday, wonder if you caught me😂😂
I remember having a meal in those services with my then-girlfriend when they were new. A long time ago, we are still together in body, if not in mind. I should have some negatives of the area from that time, but not light trails.
Another top tip is to ring the police and tell them there’s a suspicious bag been left at the Services, within no time you have dozens of blue flashing lights to add into the mix👍. . . You’re welcome!
Sir, Huge fan of your, following you since many many years..can you help me on this when i am putting my iphone 13 footages on Premeire Pro timeline i am noticing color shifts. I tried Modify Clip->Interpret Footage->Color Management But everything is grayed out under Color Management,to enable Color Management ->Use Media Color Space from file i changed Project Settings->General->Video Rendering and Playback ->Renderer from Software to GPU Acceleration but unable to Enable Color Management Option and hence failing to change Color Management ->Use Media Color Space from file I tried this on Premiere Pro 2020 and 2023 as well. Whats the solution?
the only good thing you can say about the 'rush hour' --- comes in useful for light trails LOL
Agree totally 😂😂
You never fail in simplifying you techniques for a numpty like me to understand and maybe put in to use. Thanks Gary.
Cheers Peter 😁😁
Couldn’t agree more, days it how it is without all the “ Mumbo Jumbo “ as Gary would say.
Love how you added lights to the tower, great job Gary, thanks for sharing

Cracking video Gary , the tower is known as 'the mushroom ' to us locals . Not sure whether Tony is local or not though 🤣🤣
Tony's from Morecambe. Cheers btw

No filters when the light dropped. 👍👍

It's a real shame it's out of service. It'll be a health and safety thing no doubt

Amazing Gary ! Love doing light trails. My only issue is I haven't got a clue how to use photoshop so my good work goes to waste.
Come on John, you’ll have to learn it. It’s probably a lot easier than you think
@Gary Gough I've tried it mate and haven't got a clue what to do . Where to start.
@Gary Gough maybe you should do a video all on photoshop to help us out. What you think ?
very good job 👍👍👍👍
Cheers Mickey
Love it. I feel the black and white does not work on this occasion. ❤
Cheers Thomas. I agree, not the style for B&W
So I noticed that you use a filter. Which one is it? ND? Gradient? 10 stop???
Nice work!
Thank you! Cheers!
Great images, but I'm sure you would rather be in the Lake District or somewhere on the coast.
Great work as always, but did you leave your filter on as to soften the glare of the oncoming headlights?
And just thought I'd say, as a trucker I'm up and down that stretch of motorway everyday, wonder if you caught me😂😂
Lol did you beep at me? 😂😂
No filters were used when the light dropped 👍
You'd have known the air horns are very loud 😮
I remember having a meal in those services with my then-girlfriend when they were new. A long time ago, we are still together in body, if not in mind. I should have some negatives of the area from that time, but not light trails.
What filter were you using ? Was that just to simulate darkness whilst determining your settings or was it used during the actual night shoot?
No filters were used when the light dropped. I shouldn’t have shown a filter at the beginning. Sorry
