This video is especially helpful and inspiring. You don't have to have grand mountainous landscapes to create stunning images. I live in a comparatively boring location, but I am learning how to turn to simpler, more minimalistic subjects to keep me interested and out there shooting instead of wishing I could be someplace "good" to photograph. It's amazing what you can find once you change your perspective.
Superb mate. The second blue hour one was outstanding. I like your favourite one but for me the second was the best just the way the light was hitting them groins and the way the white of the wash was fantastic.
I really liked the last one with the rocks in the foreground, and the blue hour pics turned our really good. Another great video it was worth watching till the end.

To add . I was inspired by this channel to try long exposure. So I went out for the first time with ND filter it was 5stop. used Canon 1dx3 with 70-200 at F32 iso 50 and only managed to get 10 seconds at best. Still loved the outcome of waterfalls though. Just ordered a 10stop ND filter.
Conventional wisdom would suggest mono for these images, but tbh I prefer the colour versions. I particularly like your final image with the rocks in the foreground.
Thanks for posting the video, it was very good 😊 Could I ask a quick question regarding 15 stop filters, I own one, but when I use it there always seem to be , what look like water drops marks on the image, but my images are fine with the 10 stop, all are clean, but can't work it out, any ideas much appreciated, thanks
@GaryGough thanks for getting back to me, to be honest I haven't tried 8 minutes, but my 10 stop is good for 2 minutes 😅 I will have to give a longer exposure a try with tge 10 stop. Thanks for your thoughts 😊
That shot where you wanted a higher tide but still the end of the groyne could have been done with two exposures comped together. Would have taken commitment but could have been done
A nice video Gary and interesting compositions, but like warm toned film Velvia landscapes, or HDR digital, isn’t it time to move on in photography from 10 stoppers? I mean how often do people need to photograph essentially the same thing? If you can see waves crashing they will be different waves, turning everything milky and they become all the same wave.
@@GaryGough no hardly personal choice, it’s peer pressure, copying photos others have made of groynes and such like is an epidemic, you don’t even need to find your own subjects never mind think for yourself how to interpret them.

It might be a flaw with your 15-stop filter. Does it happen with really long exposures i.e. an 8-minute exposure with your 10-stop?
