I wouldn’t be surprised if Lolita ended up moving to a sanctuary, because that’s what everyone wants for her. Even I think it’s sad to see her swimming in constant circles and she’s been doing that for FIFTY TWO years. This is called surviving, not thriving. And how can anyone think ramming her dolphin tank mates is playing? This is an adult is 3 ton female orca, not a calf. Her longtime vet was even fired just for doing the right thing and questioning the neglect at the park. So happy to see that they FINALLY retired Toki. Now they can concentrate on preparing her to go back to her home waters. I heard they played the dialect of her pod and she responded well to it.
Yes we all hope that she will come home, but the mayor and the owner of the dolphin company are talking much and saying nothing!! 2hy wouldn't they say it when they give her a chance in aseabay with human care???
Please send Lolita to Washington to her seaside sanctuary to reunite with her pod and mother, and to spend the rest of her days in DIGNITY! SHE DESERVES THIS!
There's probably as good a chance of a comet striking and wiping out all life on earth, tomorrow, as there is for any currently captive orca to ever be retired to any sanctuary, ever
In this day and age, it makes me incredibly sad to see animals "performing". And keeping orcas in tanks sooooo small is nothing short of barbaric. All this cruelty to animals has got to stop.
We shouldn't take animals from their original homes in the first place, this needs to stop...If it's not for education purposes animals need to be free.
I hope she gets a better ending then Honey the Dolphin did. It's great she has new owners, but if she's sick and she's still just sitting and stressed in that tiny pool, nothing is still being done. I understand not being able to be released into the wild after that long in captivity, but for sure a sanctuary. These are pod animals (both of them), they both deserve to be with their own pods.
well I wouldn’t exactly say successfuly, he failed to adapt to his new life in the wild and died not long after his release, bearing in mind Lolita has been captive for almost twice as long as keiko (52 years) so if she was released in the wild she would never be able to adapt after half a century in captivity. The best course of action would be to send her to a seaside sanctuary where she can enjoy the rest of her days.
I identify as an orca. I think they should make a deal to send Tokitae to a seaside sanctuary, the one in Washington. Thousands of humans would be supportive of this.
@@poisonapple6138 Even Keiko's Immunsystem got better in seawater, why not the seabay with human care. Commeon, it is not in Alaska it is Washington DC
Please please please please release her to a sanctuary at least..being a prisoner of that small tub is just brutal and barbaric!! Do the right thing for this Majestic animal!!!😔😔😔
Let her go home to her pod family. Let her see her family before she dies or her mother dies. PLEASE LET HER ENJOY THE REST OF HER DAYS WITH HER FAMILY!!!!!!!!
Not really, they have been playing recordings of different pods including her family pod that they have been tracking for 50 years and she is talking( responding) and gets excited when she hears her family so there is hope. Also her mother is still alive in the pod. Every pod in the world has their own language (sounds) and it is amazing she still remembers it after all this time. She should go home.
Unfortunately she is, and she wouldn’t do well in the wild just because she’s been captive (basically) her entire life. The best option would be to move her into a seaside sanctuary, if her health gets better :(

Wow! 52 years! I was a kid when I first saw her years ago. I had no idea she be alive today. I hope for the best for her.
This whole thing of keeping animals captive is criminal!!
It should’ve been criminal 50+ years ago when they were capturing these orcas and killing the bigger ones so they could get to the babies
It’s amazing how we call our selves a “civilized” society while allowing animal cruelty to be viewed by children for profit

Please don’t let her die in such a horrible little tub like sweet Tilikum and so very many others! 😔
She died and I’m devastated
Travesty. Corporate cruelty.
RIP Tokitae. All orcas go to glory!
