*points to the cake* "now that I know where you live, I'd like to see you home" haha I love this movie! :)
I know
It s great
I've watched this movie many times... 1st time I've heard that line🤣
at 0:45 what a genuinely honest smile from gene. he's never ever looked so happier ever. R.I.P. Debbie :(
RIP Debbie Reynolds. Whenever it rains we'll know you're singing and dancing in heaven with Carrie.
["Fun fact, Debbie Reynolds was taught by Fred Astaire himself to dance!"]
Actually, it was Gene Kelly who mainly taught her, while she was shooting the movie. However, she did meet Astaire, who managed to pep her up, when she was feeling blue about her dancing skills.
I love this dance routine, Debbie is so adorable. Those facial expressions.... :) R.I.P sweetheart, and your beloved daughter :'( xx
Even now, when driving, as soon as I arrive I say (sing) "Here we are! Sunset and Camden!!" :)
That was fantastic. The choreography, precision, steps, wonderful.
Always been my favourite musical sequence from the film.
"well...if it isn't Ethel Barrymore!" seriously one of my favorite lines in this movie....Ahh!! to be alive during the era of all the great musicals, that would have been AMAZING!
I like "I make more money a year than Calvin Coolidge! Both of 'em!"
"Now that I know where you live, I'd like to see your home."
From Stalker to Boss in just ATITTUDE
I hope she is dancing and singing through the Heavens right now. Maybe her daughter will help to save the earth from the dark force...rip, Debbie and Carrie.
RIP you legend
Cool
This song is so addicting to me. I keep listening to it a million times😂😂😂😂😂. And the dance moves was just....👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌perfect

She is so talented that You don't believe it. There is no tricks of camera. She danced so well. OMG. 😂😂😂😂❤❤❤
. . . And no Red Bull 🧃🚫. Incredibly energetic routine! 🥵.
👏.
I live in a slice of cake!! its the sweetest place ever!
I have seen this at least 50 times since 1974, and just like that, it now makes me cry. Goodbye sweet Debbie!
"Now that I know where you live. . ." *points to the cake* "I'd like to see you home."
LOL ^_^ But really, I love this scene, makes me smile the whole time
"Now don't go! Now that I know where you love, I'd like to see your home." :-D Classic Gene Kelly. Gotta love it.
Why can't they make amazing musicals like this anymore
Love this song and the dance moves, esp after they say "its the cat's meow".
Just as cute as can be. She just made this moving "come alive." What a talent.
Just Fab!! Luv the dance routine
I love this song!!!!!
I just love this performance so much!
So good 😍
During the holiday season a few years ago this song was on our store's holiday CD and I about DIED when I heard it. Everytime it would come on the staff would run to the stockroom to find me and bring me to the floor so I could hear it. Those minute-and-a-half snippets always made my work day that much brighter.
After watching this scene for the first time... Debbie Reynolds is now my favorite:)
I love this movie! And this is one of my favorite scenes (there are many. This movie is full of wonderful scenes). Just lovely. 18 yr old Debbie was born to do this! RIP Debbie.
Fantastic
We so shall miss you Debbie. RIPNever shall there ever be one asgreat as you...
such an awesome scene
gene kelly is gorgeos, and there's just something about him that's very charming
"-Cosmo,call me a cab!
- Ok, you're a cab."
looool xD
This was the premiere party for Don Lockwood's latest film. How could Kathy Seldon not know this and be surprised when she sees him just before her performance?
elsa55 she probably didn't even know she probably has to many shows and just blocks out information such as that
She was in the cake, how could she know anything!?
OMG this is like my favorite song from my favorite musical - SO ADORABLE!!! :)
Hello Dear
How are you doing today?
I wish entertainment was still like this.... pure talent...
I fully agree, I miss musicals like this 👌🏾
this is the sweetest thing i've ever seen!
Hello Dear
How are you doing today?
I like it! So kind movies ^_^
That type of movies are for people who felt in love%))
I absolutely ADORE this film... Gene Kelly ...AMAZING... Debbie Reynolds... GORGEOUS and not forgetting Donald O'Connor too ...BRILLIANT.. always always cheers me up...
And now I have another reason for loving this film..
Michael Buble sings this very song... Very slowly but I recognized it... And love him and the film even more..
*grins and listens again* .. :0)X
loved this when I was a child, love it still when I'm 18 :P thank god my parents had great taste in movie classics! :D
One of the best, liveliest films ever--better than you expect it to be. If you've seen it already, you know! If you haven't, rent it now!
This number? LOL!
Hello Dear
How are you doing today?
i wish time's were still like this the clothes the make up the dancing , everything back then was so amazing! now today's generation is fucked up :/ i hate it if i had a time machine i would want to go back in time!
Ah yes, because times like this were totally amazing with all of the segregation, mass racism, the Cold War, and lack of advanced technology. You're right, it DOES sound much better!
Baconboy2015 yeah that's right so amazing because back in them days we didn't get immigrants taking over our fucking country! yeah amazing isn't it
Skyrim Victoria If that's your attempt at saying how the 50s was better, then that's just sad. Am I saying today's day and age is amazing? No, I'm not. Just stop romanticizing the good parts of the past by comparing them to the bad parts of the present.
Baconboy2015 well that's not all i mean come on today we have chavs and really sick people around the fashion is crap the music is crap , back then chav wasn't even herd of i rather live back in that day then today period!
Skyrim Victoria Oh, so the music back in the 50s was much better? Stop listening to the popular garbage and stop generalizing all music today based on that. So you're telling me that today is far worse than back then, when in the 50s there was far more domestic violence, no Civil Rights, Jim Crow Laws, Polio, The Korean War, McCarthyism, no air condition, and no federal highways? Oh but wait, Singin' in the Rain fully depicts life as it was in 1950, huh?
BEAUTIFUL
I love it 🥰
I love the old movies like this🤗
Okay..sexiest/cutest bit in the movie: at :45 the smile he has as she's dancing away....ahhh I love Gene!
L o v e. . L o v e. . Love those costumes...and the whole dance number!❤️❤️❤️🎶🎶🎵
"Now that I know where you live..." that part always cracks me up!!
Hello Rebecca
How are you doing today?
I recently had the pleasure of seeing this film on the big screen ♥ Absolutely breath taking! It's the cat's meow ;-)
aww they are so adorable!!
Was there ever a more delightful 1.5 minutes in the history of film?
rest in peace Debbie, we'll always remember an dream of you
“Now that I know where you live I’d like to see you home.” This movie was so funny!
Hello Amanda
How are you doing today?
I love this movie so much...
Rest in Peace, Debbie.
ha just watched this today. Its awesome.
Bien belle prestation. Merci.
So sweet!! Love this dance
Pure Gold and an All Time Classic.
Give 'Debbie' a Oscar{Please}, she still is the Very best and my Favorate.
Debbie Reynolds looks so pretty! *.*
i love her!
When I watched this movie as a kid, I thought all the songs were original. I only recently learned that they were basically all lifted from other musicals to cut costs. But really, it's amazing how a bunch of recycled songs could come together to create such a coherant musical, I would have always assumed they were composed specifically for it!
RIP Debbie, this show was everything to me with its fun songs and beautiful dance sequences.
I was thinking the same thing lolol
Gene Kelly: Funny and B-E-A-UTIFUL GOLLY!!!! (yes....."Golly")
Totally agree with you halfbloodprincess!!! I've been watching this movie since i was in 5th grade (i'm 33 now) and that endearing look he gives her....wow! i love it! I've always liked his smile. Gene Kelly and Cary Grant are stars I wish I could've met in real life..
I thin this movie is one of the alltime classics! This song is so cute!
This film will never cease to be a classic! I grew up watching this and movies of this genre and was tap dancing at age 5! My daughter took to loving this happy dancing, too, and did, as Debbie does in this scene! It's the "Cat's Meow!"
god this is some much fun to sing to!!!!xx
First time I saw this movie I was a kid so I didn't pay much attention to it now that I am older I have watched it and have loved it really. I don't no why but I like classic movies a lot. I give this movie thumbs up.
Love the Charleston bit. =)
This song is SO cute, and I love this movie. Definitely one of my favorites.
Hello Dear
How are you doing today?
That man had the most amazing smile! I tingle right down to my toes just thinking about it :)
new star in the sky tonight--thanks Debbie for the memories--
lolz
I remember getting that song stuck in my head =D
I never did knew the lyrics, but I had that stuck in my head for a month =D
I'm a 14 year old girl, and I remember this song since I was 10 =D
My goodness Gene Kelly is a dreamboat!
Hello Jelly
How are you doing today?
This is one of my favorite musicals,, right next to high society
Abigail Tucker
Thank you! Well said!!!!
A time as men and women respected each others instead of dissing each other. A lady was a lady not like today a ...... and men were allowed to be gentle men .. man i wish those old school things would be more appreciated in today's world.
I love this film! Bloody brilliant, been watching since I was 5 years old. :D
I love all of them! I never noticed Debbie's double-jointed arms - sweet!
saw this movie when i was little and this song has been in my head ever since.
I'm dreaming of Debbie Reynolds.
These films are classics and I'm so pleased my film studies course had this as one of the films we were studying :)
Excellent film
Really!! It's the funniest in the movie! "well~If it isn't Ethel Barrymore!" hahahaha!!
The joke about her living in the cake cracks me up every time I watch this...
Debbie is Soooo cute! She.s still around (saw her a cuppla years as Grace Adler's Mom in "Will and Grace". She even hummed a bar of "Good Morning" outside the appartment door before her entry!)
I love this movie i just bought it yesterday and i watched it 5 times today ^ ^
ugh i can't stop watching this...it's just so catchy!
The ingredients to a happy smile and contented feeling..
1. Play 'the above'...
2.. Grin stoopidly whilst trying to sing along...
3. Share with everyone, who needs a laugh...
Result HAPPINESS... :0)x
That line at the end, "Now that I know where you live..." always cracks me up, without fail.
Honestly the cutest thing.
I love this scene! Thanks!
Hello Michelle
How are you doing today?
i love that movie!!!!its mii fav!!!!!!!
RIP Debbie
Only got round to watching this film last night, think my mates at college thought i was rather strange when i borrowed the film from the library! Most enjoayble film ever! :)
Rest in Peace, Debbie...
When Debbie had her casino in Vegas (years ago), my wife and I went to her show that she performed in. I looked around and discovered that I was the youngest person there. She ran clips from her movies, but also seemed to fondly remember this one. I had the opportunity to meet her after the show, but was a little too shy at the time.
First Carrie Fisher.....and now Debbie Reynolds within a day. This has been a suck year considering the amount of celebrity deaths we had. They were a part of our childhood and we shall never forget them.
R.I.P, Debbie.
***** .....and thank you Powerdriller Power for making a comment that has nothing to do with politics and make you look like a complete and total schmuck....well done,...well done, indeed.
J'en ai juste 16, et je l'adore aussi :D
Il est juste super, et il me donne une de ces pêches !!!
