It’s crazy to think of Cody’s longevity, he first debuted for WWE during the Ruthless Aggression era and there are plenty of matches of him from then that aren’t even in HD, that’s what you call longevity

One thing that always bugs me with the AEW fanbase is that majority of them use to be New Japan fans and they didn't act as nearly as gate keeperish as they do when it comes to AEW. Cody was probably the most selfless member of the Elite. To be fair some of the angles and storylines he was involved in were a little weird but it seemed like he genuinely wanted to help put over younger and newer talent. The TNT title felt important and because of his matches and fueds with MJF, Sammy Guevara, Malakai Black, Wardlow, Scorpio Sky. and several others like we got some pretty moments and matches. The AEW fans rub me the wrong way and it's strange to say that because these seem like the type of people who are into the same type of pro wrestling that I'm into. IDK I'm happy Cody is doing well and I hope the AEW fans are eating a nice slice of humble pie.

I disagree about the finish of WM39. I think it was the right call. It was a little too soon, and I’m not sure his title run would’ve been that great. Another year for Cody to chase made WM40 mean that much more when it finally happened
I can't deny that him winning at wm40 was beautiful but in the moment fans were justified in thinking Cody was screwed over. How many times have wwe destroyed a superstar's momentum by having them lose when they are white hot. There was a lot of concern.
I haven’t legitimately cared about WWE since probably 2001. I’ve casually kept up on it via RUclips, and saw a few Wresrlemanias at random - but that’s it. When Bray was doing his thing, I’d occasionally check in to see what was going on. I legitimately loved his character and loved when he did The Fiend. Over the past few months of checking in on the product, seeing who is on the roster, the storylines, etc…and I’m absolutely hooked again. They have legitimately made a product that is at its all time peak. A great melding of past and preset, new ideas, attitude, presentation and more. Their old guard is still in a good place to help work with and usher in the new. And the old guard that is there, isn’t like the old guard of yesterday - these are guys that have been through the bad and good. They’ve matured and grown like few older wrestlers ever do. People like Mysterio, Orton, Rock, Cena, R Truth, Punk etc - all of the ability to have great matches and keep the bond between the past and future together.
I went to night 2 mania last year and to see all of the bearded adult men boo hoo crying in front of their small children was priceless. This is why I love the IWC 😂😂😂😂

Just when you think The Rock can't cement himself more in wrestling history he does more in the year of our lord 2024. I think he embodies pro wrestling more than someone like Hulk Hogan. They both have the charisma, in ring work and mic skills, but Rocky plastered himself perfectly in today's pro wrestling scene. One of my goats for sure.

If AEW existed in 2014-2015, the pushback against babyface Roman Reigns would not have been as bad as it was. In linear storytelling it made sense for him to be a babyface after Seth Rollins betrayed The Shield. And if those toxic fans didn't have AEW to distract them now. I don't know if the Tribal Chief would have been received as well as it was. Also I had a floor seat at WM 35, I don't remember hearing any boos for Roman. It couldn't have been that much.
I swear Damien Priest should had cashed in on Cody, there was too much space wasted with Cody thanking every Mother F#ck## that booked him. The hardest part is stacking opponents for him to face.
