This is my issue with AEW. I try and try but for some reason, I can't get as invested in them as I do with WWE. I watch most of their shows and keep up on whatever is going on with the top-tier programs that may be going on. This video is a perfect example of what I feel. When he said the AEW Tag Titles were vacated my mind went blank. I couldn't remember who the Champs were and why the titles were vacated. We are a few weeks removed from Stings' last match and I completely forgot that Sting & Darby were the Champs going in and going out that night. I like AEW and want them to stick around for the long haul as their existence only makes the entire wrestling world better for us.

17 belts which actually belong to him, if we total the partnerships with NJPW & AAA as well, we also have the IWGP World Title, IWGP Tag Titles, STRONG Openweight Title (which one of his guys holds, but to be fair Kingston is the only guy from AEW I want to see anywhere near a NJPW title), STRONG Women's Title (which one of his girls was the inaugural champion), as well as the AAA Mega Championship, so we're looking at 22 belts total, with 17 of them being sanctioned by AEW. Granted, NJPW also have a lot of belts as well, but the way they utilize them is quite clever, where they actually have hard weight divisions, split between Heavyweight, Jr. Heavyweight & Openweight titles. A lack of this kind of structure in AEW basically means any bastard can challenge for any title, no matter how unrealistic it is that they even stand a chance in the match. Tony needs to realize his company isn't based out of Japan, and instead on a weekly American audience, who are just as stupid as he is, and therefore be a little less heavy on the championships, especially when he doesn't know how to structure them properly. Or alternatively, he needs to introduce a hard brand split between Dynamite & Collision, so that more talent have the opportunity to shine, with the titles also evenly distributed between the two shows, with the exception of the World, Tag & Women's World Titles, which are defended across both shows.

One thing the creator did make a mistake on us saying that ROH is an upstart company. NOTE: Yes, RoH is not a company that outside the wrestling community anybody would really know... Yes, RoH feels new and different in a bad way under TK. But, an upstart no RoH has been a wrestling main stay for a few decades now.
I would say 4-6 titles is sufficient World, Tag and Mid-card for the men, World and maybe Tag for the women plus you could have a niche title like a counterweight or hardcore title. If Tony treats RoH as a separate entity then the basic 4 for them, World, Tag, Mid-card and Woman's.
I always thought the trios titles were unnecessary. Trios can be comprised of a strong tag team holding the tag titles and a strong singles champ that's allied with the tag team champions. The pure title is unnecessary... but I could let the occasional pure rules match slide as part of an Angle. Like a Kurt Angle whooping ass type angle.
Even if Will osprey ends up winning a title, Tony has done such a great job at handing out participation trophies that its diminished any perceived value it should have
The way I see it that ROH brand is hardly gotten any exposure since TK bought it from Sinclair Broadcast. And the Continental Classic tournament where the tournament champion defends 3 titles together, that didn;t happen. So the solution, give New Japan back their Strong Openweight Title, and merge all the ROH titles into the AEW counterparts.
17?!!!! Jeeez I didn't realise it was that many! The only belts that mean anything there are AEW world, TNT and TBS title. AEW title has been booked seriously and well protected. TNT title had Cody and Brodie Lee make it a big deal. TBS title. Let's face it, Jade made this the more important of the two women's belts easy.
Probably wouldn't seem as bad if certain titles were only on Collision and some only on Dynamite. Even then, they need to get rid of some. Even 8 titles per brand/show is a bit overboard.
Despite my love for the Pure Championship, I like the gimmick and I like grappling done right, it is undeniable that there are WAAAAAAY too many belts in AEW. The Trios championships are good in promotions where FACTIONS are actually a thing; those are the prizes who indicates who's ahead in the faction warfare. Instead AEW treats them like Tag Team titles 2.5 where specific teams vie for it while actual factions, who feud with each other, don't give a crap about them. I am 100% sure someone who has Tony's ear knows about this but doesn't say a thing, that shows. he's surrounded by a bunch of yesmen (or that he doesn't listen to advices).
I remember buying wrestling action figures as a kid and pretend the landing on my stairwell was a giant wrestling ring for them and that’s how I amused myself. Just plastic figures, a stairwell and my imagination to have fun lol Tony just has his daddy buy him a wrestling promotion and gives him a blank check to buy as many human action figures as he wants to keep himself amused.
The problem is the a lot of these titles just show up everywhere. They do not feel special when they show up. If Gunther shows up to SMACKDOWN you go “OMG” or vice versa with Logan Paul US title. But the only ones I can think of in AEW is the TBS and TNT and they are Show Specific.

Last summer I got back into wrestler after not following it for a very long time. Heard there was a new company called AEW. I was so confused when I first watched due to all the belts. There was 18 belts if you add the "Real" AEW world title than. I actually think they should keep a trios belt when they finish the Acclaims feud but definitely need to be unified.
I don't think the Pure Championship is bad, but it's not for AEW because they don't really have the kind of wrestlers it's made for. Zack Sabre Jr, Charlie Dempsey, Josh Alexander would be great for Pure title, except they work in better promotions. If anything, that title should have been won by Hook
I think the problem, and it's just my opinion, is a lot of talent on the AEW roster hold or either held the ROH title. He needs to put talent that he knows he won't use much and that are not getting alot of T.V. time in ROH have them build that brand up, look at Athena she was in AEW idk what happened but she is in ROH and doing imo her best work there have ROH talent and have AEW talent they can wrestle on each show but have a set roster and not have most of ROH titles being held by AEW stars also try to get ROH a T.V. deal to again be its own brand.
Athena is so much fun to watch. I wish she was on a show I actually enjoyed.

The belts I can't get behind are the trios belts, Continental, and ROH titles. Get rid of all of those and you're in a good range. If you want maybe a set of secondary tags like the old US tags, but that's about it. Please put ROH out of it's misery.

Well they do have 2 companies going and 4 shows. If he actually properly booked matches this could be a great thing, but the booking is either so focused on a set of guys or not focused on enough ppl. He has a bunch of talent I feel like it should be more going on over there

One thing the creator did make a mistake on us saying that ROH is an upstart company. NOTE: Yes, RoH is not a company that outside the wrestling community anybody would really know... Yes, RoH feels new and different in a bad way under TK. But, an upstart no RoH has been a wrestling main stay for a few decades now.
I would say 4-6 titles is sufficient World, Tag and Mid-card for the men, World and maybe Tag for the women plus you could have a niche title like a counterweight or hardcore title. If Tony treats RoH as a separate entity then the basic 4 for them, World, Tag, Mid-card and Woman's.
Even WWE's Belt are Simple by Comparison.
I always thought the trios titles were unnecessary. Trios can be comprised of a strong tag team holding the tag titles and a strong singles champ that's allied with the tag team champions. The pure title is unnecessary... but I could let the occasional pure rules match slide as part of an Angle. Like a Kurt Angle whooping ass type angle.

The way I see it that ROH brand is hardly gotten any exposure since TK bought it from Sinclair Broadcast. And the Continental Classic tournament where the tournament champion defends 3 titles together, that didn;t happen. So the solution, give New Japan back their Strong Openweight Title, and merge all the ROH titles into the AEW counterparts.

Despite my love for the Pure Championship, I like the gimmick and I like grappling done right, it is undeniable that there are WAAAAAAY too many belts in AEW.
The Trios championships are good in promotions where FACTIONS are actually a thing; those are the prizes who indicates who's ahead in the faction warfare. Instead AEW treats them like Tag Team titles 2.5 where specific teams vie for it while actual factions, who feud with each other, don't give a crap about them. I am 100% sure someone who has Tony's ear knows about this but doesn't say a thing, that shows. he's surrounded by a bunch of yesmen (or that he doesn't listen to advices).
I remember buying wrestling action figures as a kid and pretend the landing on my stairwell was a giant wrestling ring for them and that’s how I amused myself. Just plastic figures, a stairwell and my imagination to have fun lol
Tony just has his daddy buy him a wrestling promotion and gives him a blank check to buy as many human action figures as he wants to keep himself amused.
The problem is the a lot of these titles just show up everywhere. They do not feel special when they show up. If Gunther shows up to SMACKDOWN you go “OMG” or vice versa with Logan Paul US title. But the only ones I can think of in AEW is the TBS and TNT and they are Show Specific.

Last summer I got back into wrestler after not following it for a very long time. Heard there was a new company called AEW. I was so confused when I first watched due to all the belts. There was 18 belts if you add the "Real" AEW world title than.
I actually think they should keep a trios belt when they finish the Acclaims feud but definitely need to be unified.
I don't think the Pure Championship is bad, but it's not for AEW because they don't really have the kind of wrestlers it's made for. Zack Sabre Jr, Charlie Dempsey, Josh Alexander would be great for Pure title, except they work in better promotions. If anything, that title should have been won by Hook
I think the problem, and it's just my opinion, is a lot of talent on the AEW roster hold or either held the ROH title. He needs to put talent that he knows he won't use much and that are not getting alot of T.V. time in ROH have them build that brand up, look at Athena she was in AEW idk what happened but she is in ROH and doing imo her best work there have ROH talent and have AEW talent they can wrestle on each show but have a set roster and not have most of ROH titles being held by AEW stars also try to get ROH a T.V. deal to again be its own brand.
ROH should be the NXT of AEW as simple as that.

Just have World and Tag Belts for men, women, and little guys (Cruiserweights/Jr. Heavyweight). And I guess you can have 6 man. That's all they need.

The belts I can't get behind are the trios belts, Continental, and ROH titles. Get rid of all of those and you're in a good range. If you want maybe a set of secondary tags like the old US tags, but that's about it. Please put ROH out of it's misery.
