This concert was performed at the site of the just torn down Berlin Wall. Roger is doing what he always does in his solo shows, which is adapt his Pink Floyd music and concepts to whatever is going on in the world at the time. It always seems to work. You should have seen what he did with "Animals" and the last US administration a few years back. It was scathing... had people walking out of the arenas especially in the South. Just part of the man's genius and confirmation of the timelessness and universal truths of the music.

Guest artists; Snowy White, Rick Danko, Levon Helm and Garth Hudson of The Band, The Hooters, Van Morrison, Sinéad O'Connor, Cyndi Lauper, Marianne Faithfull, Scorpions, Joni Mitchell, Paul Carrack, Thomas Dolby and Bryan Adams, along with actors Albert Finney, Jerry Hall, Tim Curry, and Ute Lemper.

Roger invited many great musicians and friends from all over the world for The Wall live in Berlin.
Yes Cindy Lauper, Brian Adams and Sinead O Conner all played their part and sang.
The party piece was Van Morrison who sang Comfortably Numb, perhaps the best version for me.
This Van Morrison version also featured in the Leonardo Di Caprio’s Departed.

this song is not the original ending song from the wall. it comes from roger's second solo album radio kaos. it is about how the live aid concert in 1985 showed that "on saturday night all those kids in the sun wrested technologies sword from the hands of the warlords". roger felt this song was a more fitting conclusion to the berlin show given the recent tearing down of the berlin wall. the original ending song from the wall is called "outside the wall". it suggests that even though someone may construct a wall to protect themselves from the world, the people outside the wall have it just as bad in trying to help you with your problems. "after all it's not easy, banging your heart against some mad bugger's wall".

Unlike all the other songs in this concert, which were from Pink Floyd's the Wall album, The Tide is Turning is from Roger waters solo album Radio KIOS. Performing along side Roger Waters were Bryan Adams, Cyndi Lauper, Joni Mitchell, Van Morrison, Sinead O'Connor, the Scorpions, Thomas Dolby, Paul Carrack from Mike and the Mechanics and Squeeze, and with actors Albert Finney, Jerry Hall, Tim Curry and Ute Lemper.

as i say folks from the same concert "roger waters 1990 berlin" check out "hey you" with paul carrack,"is there anybody out there/nobody home" that's my song as i've always had a "strong urge to fly" and "another brick in the wall pt3/goodbye cruel world" that is a showstopper for roger's theatrics, the power and build up with the orchestra then right back down to 2 notes in goodbye(the last brick).just jawdropping musicianship.loving your pink floyd journey and keep it coming.for other epic songs check genesis "in the cage medley/afterglow 1984 hq audio" thats the best version on youtube, just unbelievable and when that surge of power amidst the plume of pink smoke kicks in afterglow oh my word, also suppers ready a 23 minute long masterpiece with genesis at their prime and check out 10 cc "feel the benefit" as the outro is classic, have a good day folks

I was 20 years old when my friends and i went to the concert, we had just finished school, so it was the last event for our group and it was very emotional for us and i remember standing on this field and you see in every direction people until the horizon and everybody was happy to be there and beeing a part of this event. Just beeing there was the thing, from the concert i saw nearly nothing, the Stage was so far away. For Germany these years 1989 - 1990 were such a crazy Time, nobody thought the the Berlin Wall could fall, the border between East and West Germany was crazy, you could be shot if you went 1 step to far to the border. I thought the Germans would be forever grateful to Roger, but this year me and my friends whent to Roger again and guess what, Mainstream Media and some Politicians tryed to cancel his concerts. It´s such a shame, but his fans and i stand behind him. I was on 2 concerts in Köln and München and they where great, what a show and can you believe it, the fist Song was "comfortably numb" and the last Song was "2 Suns in the Sunset" WOW @@rockytopted6337

@@martinkolb1399 I think that was the way the song list ended with the last tour...the "This is Not a Drill" tour. He played a different version of Comfortably Numb to open the show for sure. Thinking Two Suns in the Sunset ended the show too. I learned to play Two Suns on guitar a few years ago. Never imagined I'd get to see it live by any member of PF. Roger delivered the goods though. RIP to Sinead. She had a beautiful and complicated soul. She seems sad and not quite into this performance for whatever reason, but from this same show you should watch her singing "Mother". Like Nothing Compares To U, the subject matter was deeply personal to her. Anyway, I just copied this from the Wiki article, but some of the artists here are: Snowy White, Rick Danko, Levon Helm and Garth Hudson of The Band, The Hooters, Van Morrison, Sinéad O'Connor, Cyndi Lauper, Marianne Faithfull, Scorpions, Joni Mitchell, Paul Carrack, Thomas Dolby and Bryan Adams, along with actors Albert Finney, Jerry Hall, Tim Curry and Ute Lemper. This could be a good jumping off point to explore the music of some of those artists you may not be familiar with.
