Dogs is Floyd's magnum opus. One of the greatest songs ever recorded in any genre.
Maybe for you, but it's all opinion. It's too much of their wallowing in fucked cynicism. This is the era when they lost the joy and experimental creativity of their earlier works.

It's impossible to pick a best PF song but Dogs has to be near the top and this particular recording is my favourite. Absolutely brilliant. Thanks for the reaction.

Also not sure if you knew that guitarist is not only left handed, he's literally playing upside-down... in other words he didn't re-string it left handed, just turns it over and plays upside down. Crazy.

Good live version. Felt like a well done cover to me. I’ve heard the original and seen Pink in concert so many times that nothing beats Gilmore in this and all their songs.
DBII is such an unusual guitarist. He plays left handed, on a right handed guitar, strung like a RH’d player, meaning high E is on top. Works for him though. He’s great.

When I first listened to this, the moment I heard the sound of dogs barking this became one of my favorite pieces of music. It's just amazing.
Dogs without Gilmour is like pancakes without syrup.

What a great show to have seen from the audience. You're lucky. Where PF is concerned you take what you get since the power house of those four men will never be again, but Waters does it up so good.
Doyle Bramhall II is an amazing guitarist. His father played drums for SRV. It blows me away to watch him play being that his strings are upside down.
His sound is of the gilmour mold. Just love it

Thanks for doing this song. I saw this show in Milwaukee having never heard Pink Floyd or Roger Waters and this song is what made me a Pink Floyd fan. It is still my favorite song to this day. Great reaction and as a father of 5, I can really appreciate how special of a gift it was for your son to play that for you.
Clearly, I remember, attending this concert in Dubai back on 17th April 2001. I was with my newlywed wife, and the experience was like a pilgrimage. Thank you very much for uploading this.

PF was always my first choice for a great tripping experience. My first Floyd experience was hearing Echoes right after snorting a 4 way hit of Orange Barrel in Atlanta, circa 1971. I cannot tell you in words what that was like but I’ve been painting it for more than 35 years. Incredible! 🥰💕

Amaranthe (pronounced AM-uh-ranth) is a Swedish symphonic metal band. They are a guilty pleasure of mine and their songs are all very catchy and awesome. The songs I suggested above give a good rundown for what the band is about. I also suggested those three songs specifically because they feature all of the band members, current and past. The first song on the list, "Hunger", features the original lineup of members and comes from their self-titled debut album, released in 2011. The second song on the list, "Trinity", features a different harsh male vocalist than the previous song and comes from their third album, Massive Addictive, released in 2014. The final song on the list, "365", features a different clean male vocalist than the previous two songs and comes from their most recent album, Helix, released in 2018. I've seen them live and even got Elize's attention by pretending to propose to her from the front row, so she came down and let me sing along with her and got selfies with the whole band lol. They are amazing live, and just all around fun people.
Left handed guitar player is Doyle Bramhall ll (The second) and his wife at the time was Susannah Melvoin who is main backup vocalist (twin sister of Wendy, Prince’s guitar player). He is a rippin’ guitarist with a few albums of his own.
The voices in PF work so well with the contrast, But there are song themes which suit Roger´s voice and songs which suit David´s voice better, But for me the change between thier voices was a real plus in thier material together, As far as I know both tried out on the songs and they chose the voice which they found worked better..
Mel should hear the full Animals album!

I love them all in different ways,but Animals is my favourite Floyd album.
So many layers,so much intricate musicianship,and this version of Dogs (or DAWGS,as my New Yorker friend calls it) from Waters is excellent.
Great stuff from the twin guitars,faithful to the original.

agreed. Kel dislikes RW voice big time. I'm not in love with it but it fits the style. I'm a Floydian through and through at the end and beginning of every day NO MATTER WHAT. I saw PACOHH in 1984 with Clapton. Amazing. Rich

If you don't do Roger Waters solo albums, you are missing a great experience of masterpieces.

I saw the In the Flesh tour at Nassau Coliseum in Sept of 2017. Absolutely killer. It was the 4th time seeing solo Roger. All the show were awesome.

Gilmour's got the better voice and obviously being the lead guitarist is the better guitar player but at the end of the day after Syd Barrett's head left the planet and his body left the band nearly all the songwriting was done by Waters and he was nearly a one man army with the bands lyrics, one only has to look at the album's credits to discover this. After Barrett left, Waters became the creative force of the band who devised the concepts of their subsequent albums and played a full part in their album's production until he left. Look at all of Floyd's biggest albums and they are all Waters conceived, written and devised and after he left the band the later album's still sold well but they weren't as great as the earlier albums..

This particular song is starts acoustic but at the second half you'll have a "supernatural" experience. Promise!

YUGE Floyd Fan here, and also love to see all the other reactors spreading the PF music - best concert ever for me: 1977 Animals / Wish You Were Here tour, was simply amazing. Since then, not so big on Waters as a person, but recently learned to appreciate The Wall album (after all of these years). This song (Dogs) came off, to me, as a so-so cover of the original, even though the musicians seem to be pretty good. Unless I could see Gilmore perform, the next best thing is Brit Floyd, saw them twice last year, and have tickets for August of this year - here's them doing Dogs ruclips.net/video/HYySRcY9JDQ/видео.html Check out their tour dates, may be coming to a city near you!

No mention of Doyle Bramhall II's guitar strung upside down...
I was looking for that. first time seeing him. At first I thought it was just a right hand guitar flipped but then I noticed the pick guard and knobs and realized it was a left hand guitar but then I noticed his finger position relative to the pitch and confirmed it was strung in reverse. Oddly enough he picks with a lot of up strokes and bends the strings by pulling down on them (although that's also a fretboard space limitation to execute whole and 1.5 step bends without running out of space) - either way, it's "atypical" but at the same time he can reproduce very well similar phrasing to the original. cool.
Wasnt he recently busted for getting caught not really singing but playing to a track?... was big news when it happened, pretty sure it was him, i just let him slide cuz i figured, he's old, fuck it, let him slide...lol
