I wish people would explain how important your footing and where you take off from is key. I have been able to dunk since a freshman at 5’11 however very inconsistently only just now 5 years later am I finding out that the reason was because I would always take off to close to the rim, taking off just a few feet from the rim allows you to be able to see what your doing and have much more air time this leads to more control with the ball and being able to see the rim and what you need to do to put it in when dunking.

Calve raises and working on your calves works. My leaping ability improved drastically weekly working on my calves. I went from not being able to dunk on a elementary school 8ft hoop to dunking on a 10ft hoop in less than 6 months in high school at 5'10. It got to a point that i would jump so high my heart would start pounding with fear because it took to long to come down lol true story.

La Águila Feet close together then up on tip toes and then down. It burns immediately lol I would do a couple hundred reps in the morning and before bed or before i hooped. Thats all i did was calve raises. They can be done with weights at the gym too on the leg press.

Love the videos my man. I have been working on dunking for roughly 3 years now. I started when I was 15 and I was somewhere between 5'9 or 5'10. My vertical had to of been like 24 inches. I'm now 6'0 and my vertical is around 40 inches or so. I increased my vertical strictly just by jumping nonstop and the occasional workouts at school. I have small hands so dunking with one hand is close to nearly impossible. However, watching your vids pushes me to increase my vertical to where I can dunk with two hands. Thank you for the inspiration.

With progressive overload which means adding more weight week by week. It effected my stretching and jumping amazingly .After 2 - 2.5 months i can jump 6-10 cm higher now.

I used to like jumping off one leg, I used to be obsessed with jumping over things like the hood of a car. Then I started getting better at jumping off two feet from one step and thats the highest I have jumped. Jumping off one leg also puts more strain on the knee's at least from my experience. I think its more important to get the two leg jump perfected for actual game play, to block or jump shots, or pinning someones layup against the backboard. Off two feet I used to get half my forearm above the rim, im 5'11(6') on a good day.
