I live in northern Japan, and the snow here gets ridiculous. There's a overlander here that has his Delica kitted out nice. The guy even put a snow plow on it. It's crazy seeing him plow through the mountains on his way to camp.
I learned a couple things from this video... 1. Don't wheel alone. 2. Have a full size spare. 3. (The most important!) Bring a cast iron pan with you!!! Haha! Always happy when you upload a new video. Looking forward to the next!
What really stood out to me on this video is how everyone stayed positive in the face enormous challenges. It is THE thing that makes the difference when in the midst of an epic. Solid group of guys.
If I had to get stuck somewhere, Nate would definitely be on my top 5 list of dudes to have in the group! Lots of struggle, but what the heck, that's what you're out there for, the adventure!
I have been in the back country hundreds of times and the time with A little adversity are always the most memorable and fun ( although that might be upon reflection). This was a great vid and im sure a great time
As the temperature drops so does the air pressure in your tires. Great video Ed 👍. Thanks for going through all of that to make it. It actually looks like a lot of fun though 😀.
thanks for sharing, these kinds of challenging trips are good to test resolve and determination while at the same time having fun in a beautiful environment. That dudes van is f'n rad!
I would suggest getting a big snow scrapper/brush combo from a truck stop and beat the frost/ice off your tent before closing it. Hope you dried out your tent when you got home.
Nice SIG Sauer brotha! I EDC a Glock 43x mos with a Johny Glock flat face trigger (the best trigger I've use) a Holosun 507k 2X a TRL7 Sub streamlight a Magwell some goon tape. I love this setup because it's so light that I forget I'm carrying and it's extremely reliable with no malfunction after a few thousand rds. Keep up the great content!
I'm impressed with with the duty cycle of the diesel heater and your Jackery. Gives me high hopes on doing something similar with my truck/trailer/tents.
Currently watching the video on my tv, Had to get on my phone to comment. Good video so far ed. snow is no joke. Especially when you run into ice on the hills.
WOW spoiled with all that heating gear! I did a winter night camp where a buddy of mine thought a Tee Pee would work in -35c (-31F) with a fire being the only heat source, which totally sucked as it all went up and through the top. We made it out alright in our arctic sleeping bags, though I've had better nights with better set ups. Nice off roading and recovery though! That diesel heater is tempting. Sweet Ram as well, I really like the tent!
To drive in deep snow , in eastern Canada we drive on narrower tires and no less than 32psi snow is not like mud or sand and with narrower tirés you do not float and you do not cut True à large track and the traction is better
You are in my neck of the woods! Its gorgeous out here. At least you didn't run into a Grizzly, they are all asleep right now. But, they can make trips a whole new level of exciting.
Great one ED. back in the 70's in Northern Ohio we would take off our "Monster Mudder's" off and put on our narrow snow tires (we could still use studs)---- but the tires you guy's use are for the best of both worlds-- keep up the great work!
Love this episode Edward! You released this video right after I got back from a snow trip of my own. I’m going to have to pick up one of those diesel heaters! One thing I’ve learned from snow wheeling a few days ago is that I’m convinced I’m just going to chain up right at the start in deep snow. I have these auto ratcheting chains that are easy to put on, about 3 minutes on / off. I’m 15 minutes into your episode, so not sure if you will use chains on this video, but I highly recommend them. Take care Edward! Hope to get the chance to hang again one day!
Man I love your videos! I just found them today , and I’ve already hooked ! I own a 2020 ram 1500 classic and been in some awesome places in BC Canada !
❤sweet! Mitsubishi looks mint! I almost went for an endeavour! Hitting the east coast in a day or two. Hope I can make it out before it becomes impassible. LOVE my beaver dam trail in winter.
Y’all just need to weld a woodburning fire stove on a old metal hood sled and just pull it behind you, so when you get stuck, you can stay warm and keep the fire burning as you’re going down the trail lol
I know that bridge! I live in CDA. Been watching your channel for a long time! Would love to meet up sometime! Just bought my Tundra because of your content and have been backcountry camping ever since!
Great video..I work for O'Reillys,I drive big rigs for them..If I was with you he could have gotten a big discount on the parts he would need..Be safe out on your adventures my friend
Ed, we all go alone sometimes and it is not ideal and this weekend I found that out in the Cherokee National forest doing a section of the Smoky Mountain 1000. No cell service so I had no weather radar or forcast (which changed after I went in and I had no idea) and things got interesting on day 2. A high wind warning was issued for the high elevation areas which I picked up on NWS radio in Chattanooga. I was out there and committed to finishing the section however, I got caught out in a wind driven storm on top of a ridge. It got so dark I had to turn on my light bar to see. It scared me but I am home and it made me think hard about what happened. No, I didn't finish the section but I will in the spring.
I'm from the panhandle in Sandpoint ID where I learned about wheeling from my dad. Snow wheeling has always been a part of my life and was wondering where you guys were playing at?
How is the vinyl tube off the diesel heater? Some people mentioned melting and bad smell from the hose? A tip for you the exhaust should be always angled down unless you have a drain hole drilled into tube. Many people forget water build up
Wow! What an adventure. I hope to learn from you and others about handling such snowy situations. I go deer and elk hunting in the mountains of eastern Oregon and run into mud or snow situations on occasion (though, not that deep of snow - yet!). Keep up with the great videos. Don From Oregon.
Oregon native myself….the one thing I have learned from watching Nate is that wheel spin is not your friend in the snow. I always just hit it hard when I was younger. After following Nate, Edward and the rest of the gang I started trying to crawl through the powder and it’s amazing how much farther you can go with a little patience and finesse.
I am really wanting to get a ram now over the tundra or a tacoma when I am back in the states. Love the tacoma but with a family of 5 it would be tight.
Such a good episode! Thanks for showing the things you do inside the tent to make it as comfortable as possible. I'm new to snow wheeling/camping but I look forward to learning a lot in these. Do you have a recommendation on diesel heaters/sleeping bags?
So glad we made this trip happen my friend 🙌 and snow season just got started 😁
It was the perfect way to kick off our snow wheeling season 🙌
I was out hunting in that same weather here in N Idaho. glad y'all made it!
How is the Icon suspension? Is it good for high speed and rough offroading ?
I live in northern Japan, and the snow here gets ridiculous. There's a overlander here that has his Delica kitted out nice. The guy even put a snow plow on it. It's crazy seeing him plow through the mountains on his way to camp.
I believe in the capability of the Delica after seeing it perform this weekend!
I didn't read your comment about the snow plow my bad.
Good thing it's slow at work, I get to watch this while on the clock lol
I would definitely call this a win!
Lucky! 👊
I learned a couple things from this video... 1. Don't wheel alone. 2. Have a full size spare. 3. (The most important!) Bring a cast iron pan with you!!! Haha!
Always happy when you upload a new video. Looking forward to the next!
🤣🤣🤣
The same size spare too.
What really stood out to me on this video is how everyone stayed positive in the face enormous challenges. It is THE thing that makes the difference when in the midst of an epic. Solid group of guys.
That was cool; the good, bad, and the ugly. Thanks for sharing.
Totally digging the Mitsubishi van!!!!! What an awesome build!
Hello from Estonia. Everything is so familiar, because when winter comes we know that unexpected things happen.
That looked like a tough and exhausting couple of days, but you got some fantastic footage out of it!
It was definitely physically demanding, but totally worth it. Also helps that I was in good company 🙌🙏
Great Adventure! With Good Friends!
Love The Video! Beautiful Snow!
Glad to see everyone made it out safely. Seems like short wheelbase and a light rig makes a difference in the snow.
Yeah that Delica did really well in the snow
I like this, a good humbling experience is needed every once in a while to show us we arent invincible and it looked fun!
A frying pan recovery! Love it!
If I had to get stuck somewhere, Nate would definitely be on my top 5 list of dudes to have in the group! Lots of struggle, but what the heck, that's what you're out there for, the adventure!
Absolutely!
What awesome memories you made with some good friends, besides who doesn't like to go out and play in the snow
I have been in the back country hundreds of times and the time with A little adversity are always the most memorable and fun ( although that might be upon reflection). This was a great vid and im sure a great time
That looks COLD. The "crunchy tent" in the morning 🤯
Fully entertained! Loved the frying pan trick.
It was a last minute improvisation 😆
Edward, thanks for showing in detail your tent set up. Those tips help a lot. Safe travels!
As the temperature drops so does the air pressure in your tires. Great video Ed 👍. Thanks for going through all of that to make it. It actually looks like a lot of fun though 😀.
very true! Definitely something to consider when initially airing down
Finally got to watch this one! Dang! What an awesome trip! Ones like those bring the group closer together - through the difficulty! 👊🏼
Breath taking scenery from the drone ..good video guys
God bless you and show you the right path
Love the pan idea as a Jack base
The things you go through to entertain us!!! Thanks 🤙
Tryin! 👊
This footage is gold !
thanks for sharing, these kinds of challenging trips are good to test resolve and determination while at the same time having fun in a beautiful environment. That dudes van is f'n rad!
I love that you got the diesel heater! Definitely makes the world of a difference!
huge difference!! Consider me i n the diesel heater bandwagon now
I would suggest getting a big snow scrapper/brush combo from a truck stop and beat the frost/ice off your tent before closing it.
Hope you dried out your tent when you got home.
definitely dried it out at home. There was a big puddle of water as a result initially, lol
There's something to be said for being well prepared, stoked to get into some snow this season. Well done fellas!
I would not have the patience to constantly stop and unstuck myself out of these snow drifts. Props to you guys!
Cool trail, looked challenging! But fun!
Nice SIG Sauer brotha! I EDC a Glock 43x mos with a Johny Glock flat face trigger (the best trigger I've use) a Holosun 507k 2X a TRL7 Sub streamlight a Magwell some goon tape. Switching over my carry to g19 soon for the winter. Good ol’ Glock reliability 👍
Don’t know why I waited so long to sub. You’ve been everywhere in my feeds the last year+. Great story telling!
thank you, and welcome to the channel!
Looked like a great trip filled with some challenges!
Cast Iron frying pan and diesel heater for the win!!!! Awesome video
Fantastic video! Thanks so much for sharing.
Great video! If you wrap the heater hose to insulate it your heater will be a lot more efficient. Keep up the adventures.
Thanks for the tip! 👊
for the hose an insulated sock helps it maintain heat as it travels to you
loving that solar octane Tundra. sweet!!
it's bad ass!
You got more snow than we did up here in Canada. Be safe out there!
WOW! that's serious stuff! you guys rock! and again the quality of your video is awsome. thank you and take care! Bonne journée!
I saw that Tundra just yesterday in Seattle! Can't miss it with the orange paint and the Icon badging.
Great video! Looks like a lot of fun, and a few headaches haha. Glad I found your channel. Safe travels!
I'm impressed with with the duty cycle of the diesel heater and your Jackery. Gives me high hopes on doing something similar with my truck/trailer/tents.
Dude, it performs really well 👌
Currently watching the video on my tv, Had to get on my phone to comment. Good video so far ed. snow is no joke. Especially when you run into ice on the hills.
Absolutely. Can’t be too careful out there, that’s for aure
Great video snow is always challenging and dangerous you guys did a great job
that is the use of a cast iron pan I have seen!!! nice!
WOW spoiled with all that heating gear! I did a winter night camp where a buddy of mine thought a Tee Pee would work in -35c (-31F) with a fire being the only heat source, which totally sucked as it all went up and through the top. Sweet Ram as well, I really like the tent!
I love your videos man, extremely high quality, fun and inspiring
Awesome content…. You are so right in everything you say… made the best of it no matter what
To drive in deep snow , in eastern Canada we drive on narrower tires and no less than 32psi snow is not like mud or sand and with narrower tirés you do not float and you do not cut True à large track and the traction is better

I’ve really enjoyed the channel recently

Awesome video ! Looked like a real lot of work but fun. You guys handled it well !
Man I love your videos!
I just found them today , and I’ve already hooked ! I own a 2020 ram 1500 classic and been in some awesome places in BC Canada !
That’s crazy Brother
Idk what videoing bug you’ve caught but man lately your videos have been absolutely amazing! The Lord definitely watched over you all out there!
Thank you! 🙏
Wow that’s a crazy weekend! I just bought a RAM too, hoping to build it out slowly!
congrats on the purchase!
Heck yeah buddy!
It was different not watching everyone eating their camp dinner. It's kind of nice for a change. Did the skillet and bottle jack work? I liked that.
❤sweet! Mitsubishi looks mint! I almost went for an endeavour! Hitting the east coast in a day or two. Hope I can make it out before it becomes impassible. LOVE my beaver dam trail in winter.
Very nice !!!!!😮
Rachel straps and air are a great way to seat a tire back on its bead if you don't have ether
also, loving the delica. Love the D4 and D5 here in Japan
Amazing video! Keep it up man! You’ve earned my subscription 🛻

I appreciate it my friend! 🙏
that taco with would have been unstoppable with chains
Shin…show the actual camp and cook, no matter how lame. The process and set up…the cook, the exhaustion…not, drive to camp, I’m in bed, BOOM! Morning!
Quality content.

Glad to hear you made it back safely Jeff. Definitely knowing when to call it and safely get home is crucial 🙏
Radical!!!!
Out of Sandpoint, snow gets very deep. Air down.....or chain up. Heavy chains.
Good job
I have those exact wheels on my Jeep. Guess I will keep them at or over 10!
Great video but more night footage would be perfect! great setup!
I see that protection you got there... 💪🔫 awesome snow wheeling and camping dude. I'm right over in Washington.
Whatever flips your switches. Happy holidays!
I’ve seen a couple of your videos. Just subscribed..!!
I'm from the panhandle in Sandpoint ID where I learned about wheeling from my dad. Snow wheeling has always been a part of my life and was wondering where you guys were playing at?
Yay!!
How is the vinyl tube off the diesel heater? Some people mentioned melting and bad smell from the hose? A tip for you the exhaust should be always angled down unless you have a drain hole drilled into tube. Many people forget water build up
No bad smell so far. I bought a separate tube and it seems to hold up. Didn’t know that about the exhaust!
chains narrower tires if they dont make them for your 10 or 12 wides another crazy thing some 2x4 and chainlink fenceing
i was hoping you guys would pull out the wicked snow chains
Did anyone think about adding a snow plow to the rigs, that would be wicked
Cool video. Looks like your RAM is treating you as well or better than the past Tundra.
Wow! What an adventure. I hope to learn from you and others about handling such snowy situations. I go deer and elk hunting in the mountains of eastern Oregon and run into mud or snow situations on occasion (though, not that deep of snow - yet!). Keep up with the great videos. Don From Oregon.

Thanks Don! I’m still learning myself every time I go out
100%
tire chains #pummmmm. Amazing by the way...
I said it at Mate's place, and I'll say it here: at 23, I'm all about this. 43 and beyond, screw all this work! 😄
I have just a few short years left !
I am really wanting to get a ram now over the tundra or a tacoma when I am back in the states. Love the tacoma but with a family of 5 it would be tight.
Any of you use winter tires at all? Not all season or all weather of road, but real winter rated tires?
Looks fun!
How do you like wedge style tent over ikamper skycamp?
Do you find any particular style better in cold snowy weather?
Such a good episode! Thanks for showing the things you do inside the tent to make it as comfortable as possible. I'm new to snow wheeling/camping but I look forward to learning a lot in these. Do you have a recommendation on diesel heaters/sleeping bags?
Tire chains
Hi Ed,
Which diesel heater are you using and can you share purchase details?
How much does you equipment change come winter. Like do you need to add more recovery type tools to your kit?
Delica is the best!!!
What rigs tires worked the best in these conditions?
