The Newly Designed Devinci E-Troy - Dissected Series

Completely redesigned from the ground up, the Bosch-equipped Devinci E-Troy sees a number of changes from its predecessor. Even though the last generation E-Troy was very young, when Devinci decided to build their all mountain eBike with a Bosch Performance Line CX drive unit, they took that as reason enough to start from scratch. “We are very aware at how fast the eMTB space is evolving,” said Devinci’s marketing manager Bastien Major. “Acknowledging how fast things are evolving, we decided rather than just updating the motor mounts in the frame, we should take the opportunity to bring production back to Canada and redesign the frame to offer a ride that is more in line with the Devinci MTB DNA,” Major continued. The warranty is amazing!! I have the first iteration etroy, had an issue with it taking a charge. The just sent me a new bike minus the battery.
Also have a specalized turbo levo carbon and find myself riding the davinci half the time. Great company!

Bought the 2022 Deore 12s about 2 months ago. Super happy with how improved the new EP8 is compared to the 2018 version I had on a Commencal. The Bosch motor is obviously a great option too. Nice to see Devinci onshoring the production of this bike too. Hope to add an eSpartan to the bike collection soon.

Just upgraded to this one from the 2023. I think their sentiments are spot on. The 2023 was super confidence inspiring and stable with the full 29 wheels and long chain stays. I’d been away from the sport for a while so I found that helped me take on new trails and challenges than I used to do on my old trail bike.
This new one feels much more lively and playful, really digging the mullet wheel setup as well. I was able to bring my Magura MT7s over to the new bike so braking hasn’t been an issue. Suspension is suuuuper supple. 170mm fork feels right at home on the North Shore.
Even though both motors are 85nm the Bosch is much more punchy than the Shimano and feels a lot faster on the climbs. Loving the new E-Troy so far!

I really wish you guys would talk about motor/bottom bracket protection on E bikes. As someone that rides a Kenevo on very rocky/ log covered trails, this matters . please cover bash protection on e bikes.

I get that they had to spec it with the 630 batt because the bike is already heavy enough, but it’s a range game and 630 is too small these days.

@@TheLoamWolf It is not a dislike. I just prefer full 29er (and large capacity batteries 750WH+). It feels like the majority of the e-bikes coming out are mullet as of late.
