The Pinion MGU drive looks awesome I would love to get that setup. Not worried about a little extra noise in certain gears. At the end of the day it's a performance electric drivetrain, a little noise in certain gears not something I'm sensitive to.

what do you call long days on a MTB ? even for a heavy guy like me 220lbs/100kgs of mostly fat I just did a 54miles/87km 4107ft/1252m ride on a muscular mtb fully suspended fox factory and found no problem with "pumping"on locked there's very little slack lik a thumb width at worse if you inflate shocks and forks properly for yourself and set the rebound to slow for ascents and fast on descents frankly all I do is in inflate it to whatever fox says then bunny hop at low speed on springiest rebound mode and see how far the o-ring goes and inflate deflate until it almost but not quite bottoms out, after that ride which was mostly on hard terrain I did another 4845ft ascent this time half on dirt even ascending a downhill trail (didn't know it was one unlisted local made) I do inflate my tires more than downhill people as I do cross-country this helps a lot too on long days oh yeah I wouldn't have said that before I moved to FOX float, fox float is a half slack half stiff setting they have that kind of makes up for the pumping with you being less jolted up and down every small bump and you can just pedal almost like on flat ground game changer for me who often rides on off trail grass or forest trails I'm never going back

Glad you cleared up the noise issue. My Scott eStrike whines like a cheap whore in the lower gears, so I don’t think a bit of noise in the first four gears with the Pinion are going to be a deal breaker.

So I understand that’s what the accompanying price sheet seems to suggest, but apparently they cheekily added a „FROM“ to that price tag - meaning that one COULD get one for 5999 but with selecting components LIKE ON THE DISPLAY it comes to 9789!

The bicycle industry is so messed up when it comes to the understanding the active SI Metric System. They say weight = gram/kilogram, spoke tension = kilogram-force and torque Newton-Meter which is the only correct units in the bunch. Torque = force or weight multiplied by distance. If weight is kilogram then torque should be kilogram-meter but it is not. Kilogram is a unit of mass not weight, force, tension or thrust!
