Do you recommend this job to military spouse as well? I’m interested in being realtor but worried that if it’s not good for military spouse since we may have to move every few years!
I'm a military spouse, and YES ABSOLUTELY.
Where do you get prospects to make all the calls when you don't know many people? I'm new to this RS world and I don't know how to start with out working for others.
1. start with every single contact in your cellphone. see if they need to buy or sell this year.
2. after you've exhausted that list, make a list of every please you go to every single week. let everyone you talk to every week know you're an agent. ask for their business.
3. after you've exhausted THAT, host 8 open houses a week.
at that point you'll be drowning in people to call, all without having paying for a single lead.

I’m a doctoral student with a part-time job, but would love to also do this part time. Do you think it’s reasonable if I have a few days a week where I could do showings?
YES. at a minimum you could be a referral-only agent. You don't have to be the one showing properties and negotiating. you can be the one collecting referral checks after connecting buyers/sellers to other real estate agents that sell full time.
Or if you wanted to be in the trenches, you can absolutely do that too. We start with a "warm pool play" which involves telling everyone in your sphere that you're an agent. We give you the scripts of what to say. The hardest part that many agents struggle with is FINDING business.If you join us, we tell you exactly how to find your own business so you never have to be reliant on anyone else for your business.

You said you reach out to 700 people every month. Are these all from your phone contact? What if I exhaust my phone contact list in less than a month? What should I do after?
Do you reach out to strangers? I had made 100 cold calls every day, and have 3-5 conversations every day for 5 months. But no business was generated.
Then I stopped doing that. Finally one friend reached out to me to help her. Then 2 years have passed, she was the only used me. Of course, in my circle I have other people buy or sell, but they all used their agent from before. Everyone knows a ton of agents.
I just don't know how to make a living on real estate.
First I’d ask, for how many months did you make 100 cold calls a day?
If your volume is up, say you dialed 100 numbers every day for 9+ months, and you generated no business, then the variable that needs adjusting is skill/ content of the phone call. How did a typical phone call go for you?
Once you have improved your skill, then ask yourself: is this list quality? Am I targeting the right people?
Dials are a 1:1 method of lead gen. Do you have a “1:many” method you can work simultaneously?
