@CEWIIH I already have played Doom 2016. It’s the reason I love the Doom series so much and why I got all the Doom games. I loved it, but I couldn’t keep playing it like Doom eternal. Doom eternal is better in my opinion. But your not wrong, it’s a great game.
If you want a fast paced FPS campaign game . This is as good as it gets. I’m enjoying this as much as I enjoyed playing doom 2 for the first time in the 90’s . Yeah there’s a lot to think about in combat, (especially on the harder settings) but switching to your flamer, grenade launcher, chainsaw, gun mods, grenade types etc , while hordes of demons attack in every direction just adds to the poetry ( when you get it right). It’s a game you won’t fall asleep while playing .
This game is simply a masterpiece. While it requires a lot of you as a player, it also rewards your efforts. Its punishing combat makes you feel incredibly powerful once you get the rhythm of the battle dance down. The same goes for the story. If you put the time into reading and watching what the game gives you, you'll be rewarded with a well-crafted and at times fan-servicey (in the best way) story. Even the level design and platforming will keep you engaged. If you want a low effort shooter to blast through, look elsewhere. If you want a single player challenge that respects your intelligence and time, you can do no better than Doom Eternal.
Complainers just don’t like the challenge, they would rather aim and shoot until everything is dead having put in zero effort. I don’t think being the doomslayer should be that easy, you should have to work for it.
Will Bourner V I half agree, you should be able to just mow down enemies, but not 'all' enemies. The Slayer is a power fantasy, one that I believe was better realised in Doom 2016, however, from a gameplay pov, Eternal is far more engaging as an experience and overall, a better game.
For anyone on the fence, think of this game like a brutal game of chess. During the very first mission, I realized I would need to use my brain at the same caliber that you use your weapons or you'll get tore up. It is leaps and bounds more difficult than Doom '16, but once you pass the learning curve, Ripping and Tearing never felt so satisfying.
Chess is a good deal more complex, but also considerably slower. I think it would be a bit too generous to call it a Brutal form of chess. I'm currently about halfway through the game, past the first marauder encounter. Personally, I think the game moves way too fast for how hard it hits, (at least on Ultraviolence which is what Im playing on.) I'll see if my opinion on that changes once im done but I felt much the same way about Doom 2016
It was really hard wasn't it! I think it really helped having played doom 2016 first because that slowly gets you into it! While eternal is just nuts from the get go! And it literally just keeps topping itself right to the very end! Feel sorry for anyone who played this without doing the first one hahahah in for one hell of a shock!
Sooo...its no longer Doom then basically..? I think of it more as the devs being lazy while trying to find something new to do with the franchise, so giving us parkour and limited ammo and pretending that makes a shooter somehow intellectual..

This comment is so dumb. There's a 4 year time difference between these reviews, and it was reviewed by different people. By your logic, if Doom Eternal was almost exactly like Doom 2016 with minimal improvements, it should still get a 8/10. That's obviously not how it works. A sequel has to build on its predecessor to have a similar or greater impact.
Idk why but, I feel like IGNS game reviews have been a lot more realistic than what gamespot has been giving out latley. Just opinion though and I am a someone still doesn't like IGN very much.
Ian McClure It's always down to the individual reviewing it. The guy who reviewed Doom Eternal on IGN is an old school shooter fan, so he loves Doom, but doesn't have much patience for puzzle platforming etc.

this game is really good man, DEFINETELY RECOMMEND. i reached the "hayden" misssion, wont spoil anything but, this game has THE BEST combat! I Literally got addicted to it.
i wish the game was that good to reclaim its throne but halo infinite this year will most likely take it quickly with new graphics engine actual next gen graphics and gameplay will most likely look insane

Doom is about fast paced brutal action and fun, limited ammo and parkour drains alot of the fun and what makes Doom, Doom, out of it for me. It's still a decent game but not the 2nd coming of Christ that alot of the bandwagon hoppers are saying it is. :)
Platforming is great as it gives some downtime and makes the maps more interesting. And it proves first person platforming can be very good. This game, while challenging as Hell ( pun intended) , is also a 10 for me. Reading the story only makes you hate your enemies more and it's quite fascinating.
This is the next FPS god, I hope that this momentum is not lost due to some other foolish mistake made due to stupidity or greed. That's my prayer, Amen

What we are watching is probably one of the most unfair reviews of the last 10 years. You cant get mutch better than this with an FPS game. So whats the point of that 8 score? I hyped up Nioh 2 ....but I also said Doom eternal would score better because it Revolutionized the fps genre which call of duty hasn't don't in over a decade...but they will gladly take ideas from Apex and Titan Fall 2 though? Yeah Doom eternal only an 8 like Nioh 2 is baffling.
Doom Eternal is awesome, my only gripe is I was hoping to go into a game where I could turn off my brain and blast away demons... due to the new system of having to maintain ammo always on short supply, armor, and health... I find myself concentrating really hard to be the most successful.
@@lowbudgetproductions1237 there's a lot of codex but only specific codex for the story/history behind it's lore. Yeah, I'll give you that it's not super direct but those story codex really help connect the lore of what happened before Doom 2016 to Doom Eternal.

Filling the campaign with cutscenes would have made people complain since it wouldn't be "Doom". And having a very simplistic story that doesn't require extra info logs wouldn't be worth including at all. At least those codex entries come with nice art.
The true experience is in the higher difficulty. Was getting wrecked my first couple of hours but by the last mission I felt like a complete unstoppable force. Especially when fighting multiple of enemies that were “boss” enemies from previous levels.
I played the first few levels on nightmare difficulty.... And I soon realized I need to knock it down a notch until I get all my abilities and weapons unlocked ... Even though this game is punishing its rewarding at the same time.But yeah this game is badass.. I hope after I finish the campaign I can enjoy multiplayer the same way 🧐
Unlike DOOM 2016, there is a huge learning curve to this game, after you get a few more missions in, youll be much more successful as your strategy starts to build. Unfortunately I do not think you'll like multiplayer as much since it's kinda shallow and repetitive.
Same here. You can't approach the game like 2016. My combat loop was usually Double Barrel, Gauss Cannon, Rocket Launcher and Glory Kill. I'd rarely use the Chainsaw or BFG cause I wanted my skills to get out of sticky situations. Eternal is rearranged to make you use everything to your advantage, or you're f***ed.

I'm trying to buy this game, but my PS4 keeps overheating while playing Doom 2016. I've tried searching solutions for the overheating problem, and I cleaned my PS4 inside-out. It usually overheated within 5 minutes, and it only lasted a little bit longer. Idk what to do anymore, and I'm not sure if I will get to experience this game...
It occured to me during playing this and seeing the UAC initials - yet again - made me realize the real evil isn't Hell and the demons - they're just the after effect - but its the Union Aeropace Corporation. Sure, in the first Doom they MIGHT be forgiven for not knowing that teleportation would open a portal to Hell, but every game afterwards had them doing it on damn purpose! Half surprised Doomguy hasn't turned that arsenal and that thousand yard stare on them yet.
Really great review (except the story take, the game does explain everything in a very clear manner, however, this story is 100% for those of us who read every codex in Doom 2016). After finishing the game on Hurt Me Plenty, I must say, the statement made by the devs about Doom Eternal's combat arenas feeling like chess; is spot on. This is a very difficult game at times and you guys nailed some of the biggest reasons why. I found myself getting stuck more than once on bits of the environment and then being body blocked by two mancubi (very not fun) or running around an arena for ages trying to find fodder only for them to jump off a ledge because they thought that's where I was going. All of this being said, Eternal is arguably the best FPS game of the last decade.
It’s definitely more tactical than 2016 doom. You almost have to deal with the little demons before fighting big guys or they’ll swarm you. But if you take out all the little demons without paying attention you’ll lose out of chain sawing them for more ammo. So pretty much I try and do as much damage as possible to the bigger bosses/enemies, then when I’m low ammo I’ll chainsaw a smaller demon to get full again then go back to chip away at the bigger demons.
Josh Bilow-Morin Always moving is key. In fact, unless I instantly start shooting, I always make a point to explore the arena before I begin fighting back. Once I know I can run laps smoothly in the space, I am more comfortable with the fight as a whole.
I just found it to be such a different game than 2016 and not in an enjoyable way. I didn't want doom fallout edition. The weak point system is simply annoying, the platforming is just poor. You never have ammo, and switching guns every 3 seconds just feels bad. Doom 2016 is a far better single player experience.

This is how all game's should be released & by that i mean completed & working on launch... This is also the perfect example of a well thought out follow up as it's a game that just keeps giving & guess what you didn't need to buy all manner of multiple DLC's to get this sort of enjoyment as it's in the game from the get go... I think I was only one of a select few that was glad that this game was delayed as I knew this meant ID along with Bethesda were going to make sure that you the gamer's got a Triple A Game in the best possible playable condition it could ever be on its launch date & I'll reiterate that this game is packed with content to find that doesn't need to be unlocked or had by paying more money for it... Sure there are more extra gaming content coming later for this game out but Doom Eternal will keep you busy for long periods of time as like its updated take of Doom 2016 its packed with weapons/items to unlock & secrets to find & to add icing on the cake its twice as long as Doom 2016... If any of today's Game's Developer's are reading these comments then take note as this is how to make & then present your game's... They've tweaked the gameplay enough to keep you moving & thinking on what you should use weapon wise rather than just give you all these weapons with plenty of ammo all over the place... For a Campaign based game it really is jammed packed & this has reminded me of how game's used to be at launch & not those other game's were you get 3/4's or half of the game & then you need to buy the rest via DLC'S & Loot Boxes... This game represents & shows you that if done correctly then a game's developer can actually exceed what fans were expecting & in this current climate of current gen console game's not many game's have been full to the brim with in game content & the developer's really thought it through on how to make this game better than Doom 2016... I'm not saying these comments with it being regards to an FPS Game, No, I'm saying this as to regards every genre of game's you can play... As it was only one console generation back that we got game's that had enough content with said game's to make you feel that your money was well spent but nearer the mid to end of the last gen console's game's developer's fast saw a huge market for selling DLC'S to Gamers & "Whose Fault Was That" You the gamer's as you showed them that there was a huge untapped market there & though I'm not one to stop game's developer's receiving some extra cash but it got to the point of being farcical, but it really took off when this current gen of console's came out that they started drip feeding gamer's gaming content... I could go on about that fiasco but I won't & i'll leave on a high by saying look at Doom Eternal/like Doom 2016/Horizon Zero Dawn & Killzone just to name a few that delivered on a promise to give gamer's great value for money game's that didn't need extra DLC because the game's themselves were brimming full of content & this is how all game's should be developed, were you buy a game that makes you feel Whao I really got my money's worth & it was so good I will buy the extra DLC that's out later as I enjoyed the game so much I want more but instead gamer's have fanned the flames of game's developer's who have forgotten what a full game is & will palm you off with a game that's not got much content " & this is the doozy " Its bug ridden on launch & what do we get told when this happens, well they use their " Get Out Of Jail Card " for year's by saying " We'll fix it with update patches " This game & there are other game's out there that put certain game's developer's shame & this is why we love those game's even more because the developer's have made good on their word & delivered a game we will be talking about year's later down the line & no doubt when it's the next gen console's & saying how great those game's were... Lets just hope that when the Next Gen Console's arrive that Game's Developer's have gotten the message by now that mediocre to crap game's isn't going to cut it anymore & gamer's won't buy their product because its severely lacking in game content & doesn't play well at launch... I'll finish by saying " Come on Game's Developer's remind us why we feel in love with gaming in the first place & deliver on the goods that will keep us gaming for many more years to come " But IF NOT I sense gamer's will say a lot sooner that enough is enough & will down pads & walk away but for now let's just enjoy the fact that when we do get a great game that this reminds us why we love playing them so much & though I only mentioned a few game's that have done this in this current gen, I remember a time when every game delivered on the the gaming content... Anyone help me, know if I use a cheat to replay a mission,... Can I turn it off when I get to the side mission in the level?? Because you can't use cheats for that.... Or do I have to play the whole level without cheats??
You can go to mission select, choose what mission and press the cheat option corresponding to whatever the button is and you can take a cheat into a mission and you can only deactivate it after the mission is over and yes you can play the mission again with cheats
@@hexcripplingdepression7112I just went through mission 2 again with a cheat on, I couldn't do the mission to get the embrien key ☹️ they should have fast travel from the start of the mission.... The cheats should cut off after you complete a mission, I never knew they didn't..... Even in the campaign the purple key wasn't there for me in the gore nest... Never thought it would effect the campaign
Great review. I agree, all the moving parts to keep track of during combat can feel a tad bit in conflict with the spirit of Doom, but it still works well for what it is.
Its much closer to Doom 2016 than you make out in my opinion. Like its predecessor, it starts out forcing you to think and act intelligently, but once you get to midgame the upgrades turns it into a fast paced "mindless" shooter (which is IMHO a good thing given that its DOOM) - at least on any dificulty below nightmare. By the time you get enough upgrades on ammo, health and armor and have most of the guns, most of the strategy goes out of the window and it becomes muscle memory again. You have to manage resources less and less because each chainsaw gives you enough ammo across your guns to keep going for quite a while. Higher health and armour pool means you can make more mistakes and even tank some of the heavier demons.
Mr. Creasy it is that good but if ur not a shooter player you will probably find this game very frustrating. Idk what the game is like on the easiest setting but that would be ur only chance at enjoying it. It’s very fast paced and doesn’t want players being still.
First doom game I’ve ever played I hated it at first but now I love it , it is challenging but rewarding , great game! My only advice is go all out as fast as possible 🤣
8 days is nowhere near close enough to master the multiplayer mode. Very soon, there will be players becoming so extremely efficient in their respective roles that the players will soon be crying to the devs to balance the multiplayer and this will be occurring multiple times into the future until the games multiplayer eventually flattens out.
If you really want to get into Doom, you can always play Doom 1, Doom 2, Doom 64 and then Doom 2016 and then Eternal if you like chronology of games. If not, then start with Doom 2016 because Doom Eternal plays right after it.
This is why people say IF IT AINT BROKE DONT FIX IT Doom 2016 was damn near perfect, they fucked Doom up with Doom Eternal 😒 Doom 2016 was so good and then they ruined it, too chaotic too much platforming sound is lesser quality than D2016 and i can keep going. 😪

@Fraxwell it is a special type of fps and one of the first ever to gain widespread popularity back in the early 90s . Similar to how Sonic and Mario are to the platforming genre. So it is kinda like them for it's respective genre.

also they ignored the amazing techincal work, that game runs really well even on a old machine.
They hold the 10 for last of us and cyberpunk. Also 9 for ghost of Tsushima and ff7. This game seems fun, maybe an 8.5 but not higher in my opinion

Personally a 9/10 for me and I’ve only played the campaign. If you liked Doom 2016 you’ll absolutely love this.

Doom is about fast paced brutal action and fun, limited ammo and parkour drains alot of the fun and what makes Doom, Doom, out of it for me. It's still a decent game but not the 2nd coming of Christ that alot of the bandwagon hoppers are saying it is. :)

Platforming is great as it gives some downtime and makes the maps more interesting. And it proves first person platforming can be very good. This game, while challenging as Hell ( pun intended) , is also a 10 for me. Reading the story only makes you hate your enemies more and it's quite fascinating.

I hyped up Nioh 2 ....but I also said Doom eternal would score better because it Revolutionized the fps genre which call of duty hasn't don't in over a decade...but they will gladly take ideas from Apex and Titan Fall 2 though? Yeah Doom eternal only an 8 like Nioh 2 is baffling.

Doom Eternal is awesome, my only gripe is I was hoping to go into a game where I could turn off my brain and blast away demons... due to the new system of having to maintain ammo always on short supply, armor, and health... I find myself concentrating really hard to be the most successful.

@@lowbudgetproductions1237 there's a lot of codex but only specific codex for the story/history behind it's lore. Yeah, I'll give you that it's not super direct but those story codex really help connect the lore of what happened before Doom 2016 to Doom Eternal.

Filling the campaign with cutscenes would have made people complain since it wouldn't be "Doom". And having a very simplistic story that doesn't require extra info logs wouldn't be worth including at all. At least those codex entries come with nice art.

The true experience is in the higher difficulty. Was getting wrecked my first couple of hours but by the last mission I felt like a complete unstoppable force. Especially when fighting multiple of enemies that were “boss” enemies from previous levels.

I played the first few levels on nightmare difficulty.... And I soon realized I need to knock it down a notch until I get all my abilities and weapons unlocked ... Even though this game is punishing its rewarding at the same time.But yeah this game is badass.. I hope after I finish the campaign I can enjoy multiplayer the same way 🧐
Unlike DOOM 2016, there is a huge learning curve to this game, after you get a few more missions in, youll be much more successful as your strategy starts to build. Unfortunately I do not think you'll like multiplayer as much since it's kinda shallow and repetitive.
Same here. You can't approach the game like 2016. My combat loop was usually Double Barrel, Gauss Cannon, Rocket Launcher and Glory Kill.
I'd rarely use the Chainsaw or BFG cause I wanted my skills to get out of sticky situations.
Eternal is rearranged to make you use everything to your advantage, or you're f***ed.

Absolutely. It's probably one of the smartest/most sophisticated pure shooters I've ever played.
I'm trying to buy this game, but my PS4 keeps overheating while playing Doom 2016. I've tried searching solutions for the overheating problem, and I cleaned my PS4 inside-out. It usually overheated within 5 minutes, and it only lasted a little bit longer. Idk what to do anymore, and I'm not sure if I will get to experience this game...

It occured to me during playing this and seeing the UAC initials - yet again - made me realize the real evil isn't Hell and the demons - they're just the after effect - but its the Union Aeropace Corporation. Sure, in the first Doom they MIGHT be forgiven for not knowing that teleportation would open a portal to Hell, but every game afterwards had them doing it on damn purpose! Half surprised Doomguy hasn't turned that arsenal and that thousand yard stare on them yet.

Really great review (except the story take, the game does explain everything in a very clear manner, however, this story is 100% for those of us who read every codex in Doom 2016).
After finishing the game on Hurt Me Plenty, I must say, the statement made by the devs about Doom Eternal's combat arenas feeling like chess; is spot on. This is a very difficult game at times and you guys nailed some of the biggest reasons why.
I found myself getting stuck more than once on bits of the environment and then being body blocked by two mancubi (very not fun)
or running around an arena for ages trying to find fodder only for them to jump off a ledge because they thought that's where I was going.
All of this being said, Eternal is arguably the best FPS game of the last decade.
It’s definitely more tactical than 2016 doom. You almost have to deal with the little demons before fighting big guys or they’ll swarm you. But if you take out all the little demons without paying attention you’ll lose out of chain sawing them for more ammo. So pretty much I try and do as much damage as possible to the bigger bosses/enemies, then when I’m low ammo I’ll chainsaw a smaller demon to get full again then go back to chip away at the bigger demons.
Josh Bilow-Morin Always moving is key. In fact, unless I instantly start shooting, I always make a point to explore the arena before I begin fighting back. Once I know I can run laps smoothly in the space, I am more comfortable with the fight as a whole.
I just found it to be such a different game than 2016 and not in an enjoyable way. I didn't want doom fallout edition. The weak point system is simply annoying, the platforming is just poor. You never have ammo, and switching guns every 3 seconds just feels bad. Doom 2016 is a far better single player experience.

Doom 3 slowed the pace down and people hated it. Now they give us limited ammo and platforming. The next game will force you to reload your guns and fire the corresponding ammo type at the enemy, a la Wolfenstein Youngblood lol

This is how all game's should be released & by that i mean completed & working on launch...
This is also the perfect example of a well thought out follow up as it's a game that just keeps giving & guess what you didn't need to buy all manner of multiple DLC's to get this sort of enjoyment as it's in the game from the get go...
I think I was only one of a select few that was glad that this game was delayed as I knew this meant ID along with Bethesda were going to make sure that you the gamer's got a Triple A Game in the best possible playable condition it could ever be on its launch date & I'll reiterate that this game is packed with content to find that doesn't need to be unlocked or had by paying more money for it...
Sure there are more extra gaming content coming later for this game out but Doom Eternal will keep you busy for long periods of time as like its updated take of Doom 2016 its packed with weapons/items to unlock & secrets to find & to add icing on the cake its twice as long as Doom 2016...
If any of today's Game's Developer's are reading these comments then take note as this is how to make & then present your game's...
They've tweaked the gameplay enough to keep you moving & thinking on what you should use weapon wise rather than just give you all these weapons with plenty of ammo all over the place...
For a Campaign based game it really is jammed packed & this has reminded me of how game's used to be at launch & not those other game's were you get 3/4's or half of the game & then you need to buy the rest via DLC'S & Loot Boxes...
This game represents & shows you that if done correctly then a game's developer can actually exceed what fans were expecting & in this current climate of current gen console game's not many game's have been full to the brim with in game content & the developer's really thought it through on how to make this game better than Doom 2016...
I'm not saying these comments with it being regards to an FPS Game, No, I'm saying this as to regards every genre of game's you can play... As it was only one console generation back that we got game's that had enough content with said game's to make you feel that your money was well spent but nearer the mid to end of the last gen console's game's developer's fast saw a huge market for selling DLC'S to Gamers & "Whose Fault Was That"
You the gamer's as you showed them that there was a huge untapped market there & though I'm not one to stop game's developer's receiving some extra cash but it got to the point of being farcical, but it really took off when this current gen of console's came out that they started drip feeding gamer's gaming content...
I could go on about that fiasco but I won't & i'll leave on a high by saying look at Doom Eternal/like Doom 2016/Horizon Zero Dawn & Killzone just to name a few that delivered on a promise to give gamer's great value for money game's that didn't need extra DLC because the game's themselves were brimming full of content & this is how all game's should be developed, were you buy a game that makes you feel Whao I really got my money's worth & it was so good I will buy the extra DLC that's out later as I enjoyed the game so much I want more but instead gamer's have fanned the flames of game's developer's who have forgotten what a full game is & will palm you off with a game that's not got much content " & this is the doozy " Its bug ridden on launch & what do we get told when this happens, well they use their
" Get Out Of Jail Card " for year's by saying " We'll fix it with update patches "
This game & there are other game's out there that put certain game's developer's shame & this is why we love those game's even more because the developer's have made good on their word & delivered a game we will be talking about year's later down the line & no doubt when it's the next gen console's & saying how great those game's were...
Lets just hope that when the Next Gen Console's arrive that Game's Developer's have gotten the message by now that mediocre to crap game's isn't going to cut it anymore & gamer's won't buy their product because its severely lacking in game content & doesn't play well at launch...
I'll finish by saying " Come on Game's Developer's remind us why we feel in love with gaming in the first place & deliver on the goods that will keep us gaming for many more years to come " But IF NOT I sense gamer's will say a lot sooner that enough is enough & will down pads & walk away but for now let's just enjoy the fact that when we do get a great game that this reminds us why we love playing them so much & though I only mentioned a few game's that have done this in this current gen, I remember a time when every game delivered on the the gaming content...
I'm not saying you have to have liked the genre the game was in but at least it was well developed & had the gamer's best interest at heart & not these half finished game's that have become all to familiar to the point it's become the norm...
I only got round to buying Doom Eternal 3 days ago & I'm up to the stage where I've unlocked the classic Double Barrel Shotgun & boy are these levels so much bigger than Doom 2016...

Anyone help me, know if I use a cheat to replay a mission,... Can I turn it off when I get to the side mission in the level?? Because you can't use cheats for that.... Or do I have to play the whole level without cheats??
You can go to mission select, choose what mission and press the cheat option corresponding to whatever the button is and you can take a cheat into a mission and you can only deactivate it after the mission is over and yes you can play the mission again with cheats
@@hexcripplingdepression7112I just went through mission 2 again with a cheat on, I couldn't do the mission to get the embrien key ☹️ they should have fast travel from the start of the mission.... The cheats should cut off after you complete a mission, I never knew they didn't..... Even in the campaign the purple key wasn't there for me in the gore nest... Never thought it would effect the campaign

Its much closer to Doom 2016 than you make out in my opinion. Like its predecessor, it starts out forcing you to think and act intelligently, but once you get to midgame the upgrades turns it into a fast paced "mindless" shooter (which is IMHO a good thing given that its DOOM) - at least on any dificulty below nightmare. By the time you get enough upgrades on ammo, health and armor and have most of the guns, most of the strategy goes out of the window and it becomes muscle memory again. You have to manage resources less and less because each chainsaw gives you enough ammo across your guns to keep going for quite a while. Higher health and armour pool means you can make more mistakes and even tank some of the heavier demons.
I think sometimes people take reviews of video games too seriously. Like they’re meant to be fun not necessarily criticized

Mr. Creasy it is that good but if ur not a shooter player you will probably find this game very frustrating. Idk what the game is like on the easiest setting but that would be ur only chance at enjoying it. It’s very fast paced and doesn’t want players being still.

8 days is nowhere near close enough to master the multiplayer mode. Very soon, there will be players becoming so extremely efficient in their respective roles that the players will soon be crying to the devs to balance the multiplayer and this will be occurring multiple times into the future until the games multiplayer eventually flattens out.
1:05 Doom 2016 glory kills never gave you armor and ammo, only health. So this is not a new thing in Eternal.

If you really want to get into Doom, you can always play Doom 1, Doom 2, Doom 64 and then Doom 2016 and then Eternal if you like chronology of games.
If not, then start with Doom 2016 because Doom Eternal plays right after it.

@Fraxwell it is a special type of fps and one of the first ever to gain widespread popularity back in the early 90s . Similar to how Sonic and Mario are to the platforming genre. So it is kinda like them for it's respective genre.
