I don't think Doom 3 is in a alternate universe I think the person that we play as in Doom 3 is not the original Doom Slayer he's someone else the Doom Slayer is currently in hell at the moment and this stuff is currently going on at mars at least that's just what I think

Doom eternal links them all up to make them canon. ID software even confirmed that. They even made a mini campaign for doom 64 to link it up to doom 2016. (It's a campaign in doom 64 called the lost levels), although I feel it poorly connects. But it does.

Yeah dude the new game is fantastic! The lore, the graphics, the music! ‼️My biggest problem is that they don't allow splitscreen. I know it's a cash grab thing but if they had a splitscreen dlc I would pay for it!! Part of the fun of games like these is like being able to split screen like the halo games. And now almost all games are just getting rid of split screen. I know call of duty is not maintaining their split screen they don't prioritize it, because they want your friends to buy the game and not play at your house. But like come on just have a dlc! I feel really bad for like kids growing up in this generation. Most games aren't split screen anymore and there's less and less Splitscreen games coming out every single year. Some of the best memories from my childhood are split screening with my siblings or with friends after school. They really need to bring it back.

There is so much lore behind this and the pages you get through the game the gives you a small part of sentinel history tells so much more, closing the gap between original doom to doom 2016, essentially making it all cannon.doom 64 is the more appropriate doom 3 because it tells about him going missing in hell tying everything together in a really tight knot.

The jury is not “out” on if DOOM 2016 is a sequel to DOOM 64. It is. After Doomguy chooses to remain in Hell to battle the demons for all eternity. That’s what Doomguy did. And via the Slayer Testaments, we know what he did during that time period. Time has no meaning in Hell, so the deeper and farther he went into Hell during his Eternal Crusade meant that he would eventually stumble upon battles that occurred millions of years ago in our reality, but were just occurring whilst he was in Hell. That was how Doomguy discovered the Night Sentinels, and Argent D’Nur. There’s literally old Sentinel/Argentia icons of Doomguy with the Night Sentinels battling demons in ancient times on Mars’ Argent D’Nur. It was pretty well established even in DOOM 2016 that it was a sequel to DOOM 64. Addendum: This was also the reason why DOOM 64 was packaged with DOOM: Eternal.
Skeleton oh my god you finally made it click for me. I couldn’t wrap my head around how there was room for all this Sentinel stuff if the end of Doom 64 lead to Doomguy eventually being entombed in Hell and brought back in Doom 2016. Timey-wimey saves the day again!
My headcannon and probably for alot of other people is that the Doom Slayer is the Original Marine from the first games, he came from a different reality and ended up crossing from one reality into the Doom 2016 and Eternal because the UAC found him and brought him into that reality with there portal experiments.
I love how a series known for a lot of gore and violence has the main character slaughter thousands of demons because *they killed his pet rabbit called D a i s y*
he even break the cycle of life with his anger. meaning he cant forget what happen in this life after moving on in the next world, which lead to hell themself decide to lock him away but not kill him because if he die and rebirth, he will comeback definitely
2:18 actually it's possible to survive that encounter and kill all enemies. Most of the damage comes from enemies, but the game also takes away health so they can transition to soh faster. Picking up the supercharge in the beginning will let you do that easier.

I think there must be some kind of retcon. It's insane to believe that the slayer has already stopped a hell invasion of earth and NOT A SINGLE PERSON remembers it. To set my mind at rest I'm just telling myself it's some amalgamation of Doom 1 with 64's ending.

Either... 1) it's the same earth, but has already recovered from the invasion 120 years ago that Doomguy had stopped. UAC's teleportation game is pretty strong already, suggesting they've had it for a while and it's no longer experimental. But now there's an energy crisis on earth, and they find the Well via the fissure on mars, and begin to exploit it. They're accustomed to demonic threats already, so they were able to handle this pretty well ...until Olivia betrayed them and threw everything back into chaos. The demons apparently couldn't do this on their own, suggesting the UAC had to have learned from their past mistakes and learned how to prevent invasions this time, necessitating getting an inside man. or... 2) it's a different earth, in a different dimension, and Doomguy is just upset seeing an alternate version of his people making the same mistakes.
Gotta love when 80s/90s movies/games have settings about 30 years into the future when the grim reality is that we still are nowhere close to being as advanced as the years are predicted in the classic media. Nobody knows for sure when we'll be able to colonize Mars.

mustve watched 5 of these recap videos and yours is by far the most informative. going into each games events and speculation on the timeline. My understanding is that its the same doom guy and he spends 100s of years in hell doing everything we see in previous games and is only finally freed at the beginning of Doom 2016.
My theory is that 2016 Doom Guy is the OG doom guy who stayed in hell to kick ass. But the earth in doom 2016 is an alternate earth since hell seems to be a gateway to the multiverse
You'd be right, but, among other things, the Plasma Rifle in Doom 4 (or 2016, as you plebians call it for some reason; like, seriously, whatever happened to the other 2013? And now that I think about it, whatever happened to other 63 Dooms between Final Doom and Doom 64?) is described as being based on an early 21st-Century design, and you know what else is based in the early 21st-Century with an early 21st-Century Plasma Rifle design? OG Doom.
Before Doom 3 happened, Doomguy was still in hell after his decision to stay there after 64. From there he somehow ended up in the Sentinel's realm where he was adopted into their ranks and given his newfound strength and agility by the Seraphim. Somewhere during this period, he lead a counter-offensive against the demons in a martian city. You can actually see the stone tablets where this battle is depicted during the latter portion of Doom 3 along with the Praetor suit. You guys probably shoulda made this after Eternal came out. Video was great up until the Doom 3 portion.
I'm pretty sure how the timelines link up is that there is one hell, invading many earths, doomguy stays in hell, becomes doom slayer, gets pulled out of hell by hayden on a different earth than the one he came from
Actually, Eternal shows what actually happened. After the new final chapter in Doom 64, Doom Guy was found by the Night Sentinels, barely alive after his years of fighting the demons solo.
...man, the Doom timeline basically has Doomguy at the age range of being either a Millennial or Gen Z... and somehow, everything makes sense; the love for his pet rabbit, the anger at the system, the love for Animal Crossing, and the goofy, irreverent behavior towards everything. Doomguy is basically a living, breathing shitpost.
Doomguy: When I recieved that rabbit, it signified something. That this world was not as corrupt as I believed; that I was not just another piece of fodder like my comrades before me. It gave me a chance to grieve my losses and pain unalone... and your demons took that from me... STOLE that from me.... KILLED THAT FROM ME! Makyr Khan: Oh God Doomguy: So you can either hand over your demons, their worthless lives to be fodder to my ripping and tearing, or you can DIE, SCREAMING ALONGSIDE THEM!!!
So now that Doom Eternal is out this is what we learn: The Doom Slayer IS Doomguy! After Doom 64 he spends some time in hell until crashing on Sentinel Prime, homeworld of the Agrenta in a parallel universe at some unknown point in the past. After spending some time training under this warrior culture hell invades for the first time in this universe and Doomguy gladly joins the fray. When the invasion gets out of hand one of the makyers, the gods of the Argenta, spirits Doomguy away and places him in the divinity machine, making him a demigod capable of killing titans. Thus the legend of the Slayer is born! After several years of fighting hell the night sentinels learn their own leaders and people have gained unlimited power from hell and have made deals to sell out other worlds to get more elixir, better known as Argent Energy. Betrayed and cut off the sentinels fight to the last man, leaving only the Slayer alone once again in hell. An eternity passes with hell constantly beaten by the now Doom Slayer until a trap finally seals him away. UAC agents led by doctor Hayden exploring hell and learning of Argent Energy, stumble upon the Slayer's resting place and bring him back to Mars. One more betrayal later, hell invades Mars and the Doom Slayer is free to kill demons once more.
Let me correct you just a bit: 1. Sentinels made him a warrior-slave. 2.A head knight only broke the tradition of only allowing people of Argent (thats the dimension) to become knights because the slayer had countless battles won. 3.He was led to the Divinity machine by a makyr. Makyr are not gods, but a "collective countiousness of individuals" lead by a Khan, which is lead by "Father" (god). Current Khan ruled as long as she did because Father went missing. 4. The Slayer became an idol after the hell's invasion at Argent capital, where he slain a Titan. 5.As seen in the third/forth mission, he wasn't the only one who aurvived.

Doom 2016 fits quite well into the OG Doom timeline since in the game, it is stated that Doomguy's tomb was indeed found in Hell, and then brought into a UAC facility (who are, as always, messing around with Hell Portals again)

Doom 2016 happened slightly before doom eternal. The slayer stayed in hell while Hayden tried to defeat the invasion on earth. Hayden failed, but the slayer installs the fortress of doom from the argenta and brings back Vega to once again fight the forces of hell and find Hayden.

Time has no meaning in Hell, so the deeper and farther he went into Hell during his Eternal Crusade meant that he would eventually stumble upon battles that occurred millions of years ago in our reality, but were just occurring whilst he was in Hell. That was how Doomguy discovered the Night Sentinels, and Argent D’Nur. There’s literally old Sentinel/Argentia icons of Doomguy with the Night Sentinels battling demons in ancient times on Mars’ Argent D’Nur. It was pretty well established even in DOOM 2016 that it was a sequel to DOOM 64.
Addendum: This was also the reason why DOOM 64 was packaged with DOOM: Eternal.

My headcannon and probably for alot of other people is that the Doom Slayer is the Original Marine from the first games, he came from a different reality and ended up crossing from one reality into the Doom 2016 and Eternal because the UAC found him and brought him into that reality with there portal experiments.

2:18 actually it's possible to survive that encounter and kill all enemies. Most of the damage comes from enemies, but the game also takes away health so they can transition to soh faster. Picking up the supercharge in the beginning will let you do that easier.

They're accustomed to demonic threats already, so they were able to handle this pretty well ...until Olivia betrayed them and threw everything back into chaos. The demons apparently couldn't do this on their own, suggesting the UAC had to have learned from their past mistakes and learned how to prevent invasions this time, necessitating getting an inside man.

Inter-dimension fun, pretty easy to consider. I like to consider Hell the inter-dimensional Nexus of it all. Hell is just that thirsty to dominate humanity, so thirty they tried 3 different dimensions of Sol.
mustve watched 5 of these recap videos and yours is by far the most informative. going into each games events and speculation on the timeline. My understanding is that its the same doom guy and he spends 100s of years in hell doing everything we see in previous games and is only finally freed at the beginning of Doom 2016.
My theory is that 2016 Doom Guy is the OG doom guy who stayed in hell to kick ass. But the earth in doom 2016 is an alternate earth since hell seems to be a gateway to the multiverse

Before Doom 3 happened, Doomguy was still in hell after his decision to stay there after 64. From there he somehow ended up in the Sentinel's realm where he was adopted into their ranks and given his newfound strength and agility by the Seraphim. Somewhere during this period, he lead a counter-offensive against the demons in a martian city. You can actually see the stone tablets where this battle is depicted during the latter portion of Doom 3 along with the Praetor suit.
You guys probably shoulda made this after Eternal came out. Video was great up until the Doom 3 portion.

So now that Doom Eternal is out this is what we learn:
The Doom Slayer IS Doomguy! After Doom 64 he spends some time in hell until crashing on Sentinel Prime, homeworld of the Agrenta in a parallel universe at some unknown point in the past. After spending some time training under this warrior culture hell invades for the first time in this universe and Doomguy gladly joins the fray. When the invasion gets out of hand one of the makyers, the gods of the Argenta, spirits Doomguy away and places him in the divinity machine, making him a demigod capable of killing titans. Thus the legend of the Slayer is born! After several years of fighting hell the night sentinels learn their own leaders and people have gained unlimited power from hell and have made deals to sell out other worlds to get more elixir, better known as Argent Energy. Betrayed and cut off the sentinels fight to the last man, leaving only the Slayer alone once again in hell. An eternity passes with hell constantly beaten by the now Doom Slayer until a trap finally seals him away. UAC agents led by doctor Hayden exploring hell and learning of Argent Energy, stumble upon the Slayer's resting place and bring him back to Mars. One more betrayal later, hell invades Mars and the Doom Slayer is free to kill demons once more.
Let me correct you just a bit:
1. Sentinels made him a warrior-slave.
2.A head knight only broke the tradition of only allowing people of Argent (thats the dimension) to become knights because the slayer had countless battles won.
3.He was led to the Divinity machine by a makyr. Makyr are not gods, but a "collective countiousness of individuals" lead by a Khan, which is lead by "Father" (god). Current Khan ruled as long as she did because Father went missing.
4. The Slayer became an idol after the hell's invasion at Argent capital, where he slain a Titan.
5.As seen in the third/forth mission, he wasn't the only one who aurvived.
Also to note: Vega is "The Father" and Samuel Hayden is "Samur Makyr", the one who gave Doomguy his powers.

Doom 2016 fits quite well into the OG Doom timeline since in the game, it is stated that Doomguy's tomb was indeed found in Hell, and then brought into a UAC facility (who are, as always, messing around with Hell Portals again)

Doom 2016 happened slightly before doom eternal. The slayer stayed in hell while Hayden tried to defeat the invasion on earth. Hayden failed, but the slayer installs the fortress of doom from the argenta and brings back Vega to once again fight the forces of hell and find Hayden.
