30 years of construction so far under my belt. I have seen about every kind of carpentry skills done on homes. Your cabin is top notch. Thanks for sharing your dreams and knowledge with us. Bless and Happy Homesteading!
That is a cabin anyone would be proud of. I'm surprised anybody would question your work, seeing how you spent a big chunk of your life building homes.
You defiantly a man of many talents Mr. Danny the cabin looks amazing. I love the wood box idea. This is defiantly a treasured masterpiece of your talents that you have created!
Morning Y'all , I think it looks amazing, you are inspiring to me, I pull my on my boots a little different, with the intent to do things better, thank you Danny !
Beautiful cabin. A cabin I would love to have. I would love for you to build one for me. Off- grid living is the way to go. Thanks for showing your cabin and don’t let the negativity bother you because you know what you was doing. I know Miss Wanda love it. Thanks again for showing your cabin.
Great ideas all around the cabin and a wonderful example of living off grid in the South. Well done Danny and Wanda. We are so thankful for you two. Take Care.
Your cabin is an inspiration to us I love the woodwork we use vinyl siding for outside it's more adorable and affordable and less maintenance thank you for sharing God bless will praying for you to have a blessed Thanksgiving and we are very thankful for having you as a friend on RUclips here ❤️🙏
Love the cabin! You and Mrs. Wanda have put a lot of time and love into it and everything looks great! Hope you and your family have a Happy Thanksgiving!
Awesome job and exactly how I want my home/cabin designed for comfort snd safety. Yes, keep the critters out! Please have a Happy and blessed Thanksgiving!
Thanks for tour. Especially interesting was the electrical boxes. That is a very nice cabin. Happy Thanksgiving to you and Miss Wanda and your subscribers🦃🦃❤️
Thank you for the tour. It looks impeccably done. And it will serve you well. Happy Thanksgiving. I am very thankful to be healthy and with my small immediate family. Bless you both.
The 2 inch vent you had was just fine other than being a dry vent. A vent can't lay flat at the same level as the drain unless there is water washing over it(wet vent), or you are venting a floor drain. The cabin looks awesome!
I highly recommend the JoMax product (I get mine at Home Depot or via Amazon). You mix the JoMax concentrate with bleach and water and it made my house's siding and trim look brand new again. There is something in it that seems to dissolve spider webs or at least make them turn loose of where they are connected. It is a real time saver.
We are now living in our third Log Cabin that we have built personally ourselves. 30 years ago the CWF was an entirely different product and it did great in Leakesville Mississippi's humidity. However 10 years ago when we built our house in Lucedale Mississippi the CWF Formula had changed considerably and was no longer as good to prevent mildew and discoloration. Likewise we used it once and went with a different product we have now been in our Log Cabin 10 years in Lucedale and a product that we have chose is the Cabot stain and sealer for outside. For the last five years it is worked very well.
@@DeepSouthHomestead I can't find ones like you have. I live in a mobile so have to vent the skirting like you did on the cabin. All I can find are vents like are in the floor vents of the heating system in the house. They leak air so in the winter it gets very cold under the house and that makes the house cold too. Yours look like they wouldn't' leak so much.
Hi guys! Love how things are coming along at the cabin. When you get ready to do the logs again add a mildewcide to what you use. Some stains come with it already but most do not. Should be able to have it added where ever you buy your product. Happy Thanksgiving and God bless you.
I have never seen anyone use larger than 2 inch vent pipe. My hope has one and every home around here has 2 inch vent. Anyway, great video. Have a great Thanksgiving.
re do the exterior vent pipe put in a j and reduce it back to 2 inch old technology and thinking to run them past the roof line then paint to match siding oh and thanks cool cabin
People that talk about plumbing should be plumbers. I forget now where it was but builders built a subdivision where all the houses had 1 half inch sewer vent in the plumbing system to prove that it was sufficiant to vent a sewer system. It worked just fine . The purpose was to cut cost to the homeowner. You see how far that went.
I'm sure glad you mentioned the problem with LED lights using a regular generator. Could you maybe get a pure sine inverter and install it between the generator and the cabin rather than buy a new generator? We just bought a dual fuel generator.

Things look great and seem to work well for y'all. Did yall put something solid behind the lattice? Just wondering. We just picked up a 100 lb propane tank at tractor supply yesterday they have them on special for 99.00. Ours at the retreat was stolen about 6 months ago. We haven't needed it since because no heat needed but getting one to replace was good. If someone wants to break in nothing can stop them. Make your place as nice as you want and enjoy. When our place was robbed we had someone staying 800 feet from our barn where they were able to break in and steal our 4 wheeler our propane tank and various large tools. It happens it was our first burglary in about 20 years and our first ever at that location. Bitter pill but not going to make us quit living the way we choose.
@@DeepSouthHomestead yes I can see that but I have seen people put something solid such as the black insulation board or something of that nature behind the lattice and put the lattice on top for looks just wondering if ya'll did it that way.
I don't understand anyone who thinks that being off grid is shabby or bad to do. With a little forethought it can all be done beautifully and will save your bacon one day. I'm slowly( much slower than y'all) getting my systems up and running. I chose to do my water system first then on to my power. I got my new metal roof this month so i can now set up the water catchment system for my animals and gardens. Then i will be setting up solar for my animals. I have rabbits so they require fans over half of the year and will be using lights for my quail in the winter to keep egg production up. Hopefully in the next few years i will be able to put in a full solar array to run my house. Until then i just keep on keeping on the same way I've been doing. One foot in front of the other is how you get things done , right?? Thank you for all your videos and how to's. Have a blessed Thanksgiving and many more to come
I thought we weren't "allowed" to have solar in MS (actually go off grid) unless it was tied into the power company? If we can, PLEASE tell me where so I can stop looking in TN and stay closer to home.
What are the dimensions of your cabin? Our current home has some major structural issues that are not able to be resolved and we will be tearing down and rebuilding. We want to stay small, our current home is less than 1000 sqft, for a few reasons so im just curious how large the cabin is from the videos of the kitchen it looks like it is a nice size.
If I order a kit from growers solutions at the specific amount or above when applying y'alls code does that add the irrigation and shipping automatically or does one have to add? It was a little vague the information you gave for the Friday sell.
