Isn't that something. God has put it on my heart over the last couple of days to share something about God telling Saul not to kick against the goad and I made a long facebook post about it this morning. Imagine my surprise when I come to Porch Time for my lunch hour and see your title! Love y'all oodles. God is amazing and I'm ready for spring!

I met a lovely beautiful girl, and I did ask god If we could be a couple and I felt he said quietly no!!! When I asked why I clearly heard "Because I want you to be happy." Blew me away. Patiently, happily I rest on that.

I remember my dad coming home with those little brown bags of seed. He would plow with a tiller. The kind you walk behind. I can still smell the soil….fresh …,earthy. I loved it.
He poked the holes with the end of the rake and we plopped the seed in, another covered them up.
Those were simpler times.
I've been chastised many times from the Lord for not being obedient, but it didn't take me long to repent. Like Proverbs 13:15 says Good understanding giveth favor, but the way of transgressors is hard. Since my husband passed away, I've really had to depend on God for my strength. Thank you for another good porch time. Blessings to you both.

For me I sometimes will get super excited or wrapped up in an idea that I will forget to take it to the Lord. Then when I remember to I hesitate or even procrastinate because I'm like a little kid who is afraid to ask. The answer might be, NO! Nobody likes to be told no when they have got their heart set on something. Thank you, Danny, for the reminder. I've got to go pray on something and read my Bible.
I know only too well what you mean from my own experience. But, I have learned that He delights in blessing us with GOOD things, and He knows far better than we do what is long term good for us. Little kids may want a diet of sweets, but they would destroy their health if they were allowed it.
Right! I wanted to sell my place and move to a bigger place in the Ozarks , I went to the Lord and asked him if this is what he wants because his will not my own, the Lord told me no stay where I put you, of course that broke my heart so I prayed and thanked the Lord for his wisdom, he knows all, now I am waiting on a pacemaker so my wanting a lot more land and building my own home and having more than just chickens and a lot bigger garden isn’t for me at this time, my garden is big enough, my freezer is full of chicken meat and lake just a mile away, how great the Lord is I praise him daily for my humble place as it is perfect and beautiful and I am blessed.
I feel the same way, I’ve been praying .. I have plenty here where I am and am very thankful to the Lord for it…but not much community here..I’ma 65 year old woman that has damaged lungs and just can’t do everything by myself anymore . Sometimes I need help ..I have beds and a high tunnel, finally and still grow my own food ..I’ve been here 32 years and i have so many supplies , equipment ,tools , stuff ,that im overwhelmed & just don’t know how to even pack for a move , so i can sell my place and buy a place where there is community. So Im still praying that He will show me the way , if its His Will…
I need to keep praying and go to my Bible more..

Mornin Danny... Amen to THIS. I had God wake me up at 1:30am one day last week...He just said my name while I was in deep sleep...and I woke up...and not just woke up, but when I woke up I was COMPLETELY awake & alert as if I had not been sleeping.

This happens to me several times each week and has been for a few years now.
Sometime between 2am.-3:30am, I wake up rested, with eyes wide open, and I just lay there in silence and overwhelming peace, and just KNOW everything is fine.
It is powerful.
When that happens you say, here I am Lord, and ask what He would have you do. Sometimes He also wants to share something with you.😊❤🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

I had to research "The Pricks".
The phrase “kicking against the pricks” comes from a Greek proverb that was also used in Latin literature. It refers to the practice of farmers using a goad to steer oxen, and the oxen kicking back at the goad. The more the ox kicked, the more the goad would stab into its flesh.
Explanation
The phrase is a metaphor for futile resistance.
It implies that resisting Jesus is a losing battle.
It suggests that those who resist Jesus are only hurting themselves.
The phrase appears in the Bible in Acts 9:5, where Jesus says to Saul, “It is hard for thee to kick against the pricks”.
Biblical context
In the Bible, Jesus uses the phrase to force Saul to move in God's direction.
Saul's resistance to Jesus was a losing battle, and he eventually came to believe in Jesus.

I preseved a few brown paper bags from back then. The texure changed to thinner paper to thinner plastic.
When my husband died cancer i told God that my husband didn't want to die. I was angry. I stormed out my house one day and a voice stopped me in my tracks and said Jesus didn't want die either. I knew it was God. I then began to understand and felt bad for being angry i was only thinking of myself. Hes been gone 7 years and i still get chills thinking about it. God knows whats best. That’s all he gave me and then Sunday when I was in church worshiping, I saw the ocean and I saw myself standing in the middle of the ocean and toward the end of the service and into Monday morning the Lord showed me he said when the water is rise and the troubles come ,,,I’m going to raise a standard. I’m going to raise a standard.
Be sensitive to what the Lord is doing look around you you may see things now that you’ve never seen before be sensitive. He is waiting and willing to speak with us if we just listen.

There is one store that sells plants, some from Bonny and some they grow, but they still keep their extra seeds in glass Mason jars and sell them by the ounce. It is one of maybe 2 such stores in SC. Greenville drove it's last feed and seed out of business almost 10 years ago and the "feed and seed" stores we have now are only for large, corporate farms.

Just a tip if you store organic fertilizer some of it attracts mice. I had a few bags not used and stored in a wooden chest. It attracted mice and made a big smelly mess in my garden shed. Our local feed store still sells seed by the scoop for 50 cents a scoop. But the onion starts, and seed potatoes are very pricy.
This is true about organic fertilizer.
@TXJan0057 I found a hole in one of my bags from a mouse. I ended up putting the fertilizer in a bucket with a lid to keep the mice out of it.

Danny I can remember watching you about four years ago,I don’t know how long you’ve had this channel but I’ve been away for a couple of years I’ve been through some dark times I lost my wife of 38 years will be four years day after tomorrow and I just couldn’t get my head back in the game,I used to love being in the woods and I just didn’t care I turned to alcohol and was drinking a gallon of whiskey a week for about 18 months and one day met a great Christian woman that also lost her husband I fell in love again gave up the booze and found Jesus Christ it’s been a year so or and I’m not looking back,sorry to ramble but my point is sir I’m watching your channel again and keep up the great videos love how you and the Mrs live and farm God bless you my friend in Christ name🙏❤️

In November 2011 I dreamed of my Dad preaching at a small gathering. (He had been an old time preacher and had passed on in 1991). He preached a warning that times of trial would come and go, but not to concern about those days until something terrible happened in Beirut Lebanon. That then tribulation times would be upon us. On Aug 4 2020 that horrible explosion at the ammunition storage facility rocked Beirut and well a lot has happened since 2020.

The rabbis say that the angels visit the earth at that time of the morning. Many times Christ prayed in the third watch.

Well almost got taken out again. God -1 point
life trying to kill me -0 points.
I almost got flattened by an 18-wheeler because I'm over tired. I almost overshot my Lane on 75 and almost got into their Lane when they were close and about to pass me but I felt this horrible dread in my spirit to stay where I was and then nearly miss getting whacked by an 18-wheeler.
I never would have seen it coming. I didn't know it was there I just believe the feeling that I had.
