    As an owner of two old houses I’m seriously considering to buy a scaffolding at Harbor Freight. And I believe it will make this job significantly easier

      How did it go? I have an older home with a scary dormer windows situation on the 2nd floor. Scaffolding might be part of the solution.😀

      I did this for a house with shake siding with layers of pealing paint and it worked great.

      Titan is better though! Haha I know, same company. Just more pro made tools..😅 seriously though, I use a Titan 6800 to paint the sewers for up to 16hrs a day non stop and that hydraulic rig is OP! 3 years of use and I've only replaced motor mounts and a belt... that's with the rig running while in the back of a moving truck including off-road.

    I only buy caulk guns with the cutter and the pokey thing, so nice! That looks like a great spraying system and it (and you) did a beautiful job.

      Most European chaulk guns don't have them. Although they are pretty nice and don't even need that much pressure. And I have an knife with me al the time

    About 5 years ago I painted a foundation a darker color that the siding on the house. It looked great, everyone loved it. Got complements from neighbors and such. The new owners of the house have kept it. Still the same paint that I put on.

    Is there a teacher pole you can attach a scrapper to , to scrap fascia board that’s 20 dr or so high?
    Or does one have to get on a ladder to scrap that?

      Ladder is really the only way to go to get up close and make sure it was prepped right. I get it though, I have a 3 story house that was 28~36ft tall all around with no helper. It was... fun..

    Great job! If were to have that sidings, Id probably pass out just thinking about sanding and properly prime it for repainting lol. I think you’re better off replacing the sidings because a lot of your wood are warped.

      @@BYOTools just my experience with paint on wood clapboard. It will start peeling and fading within 4 to 5 years and you will have to sand it back and repaint. Nothing about your job in particular, it's just how paint on wood is.

    Is the old stuff lead paint? Are there special considerations that need to be taken besides the respirator and plastic lining on the ground? I have an old house that I’m planning on repainting.

    With the concrete siding trim at the base why not continue the timber cladding all the way down? Or popcorn cement stucco and painted.

    I’m embarking on the exact journey with my 1950s house. One question, do I only prime the sanded down areas? I noticed where your old paint was bonded you did not prime. Thanks in advance.

    I wonder if you can do most of this same project with a brick house. I have been wanting to paint our house for some time now but always get nervous. Not the best painter. But the spray gun looks fairly easy and the tape job didn’t look horrible.

      Anyone can do this one. Just remember that the prep takes TIME to do correctly. Luckily though if your house is brick then you could actually spray the primer on vs rolling it. keep that in mind.

    Was this timely or what? I have an exterior wall to paint. Nesting birds made a bit of a mess, which I have cleaned up. Next comes prep and then the painting.

    I used POR-15 on my Jeeps floor boards. You have to clean up as much as you can and then put it on and it'll suffocate any rust that is left.

    What type paint is best for exterior without much expense ? -south side of house is completely exposed to sun all year. Cause I may repaint in few yrs time for color change.

    How long did it take you to paint eat the house and was the total sq footage? Did you need more than 1 pad for the paint eater?

    Looks great! I’m not gonna lie when you put out the paver walkway video I was thinking to myself he needs to do something about that siding before worrying about pavers! Lol looks awesome! What area of Washington are you in? I am coast guard and lived in Westport for 3 years. We are from California but may retire in the Olympia area!

      I have T111 on my toolshed. And, yes, it needs more work than the rest of the exterior, which is brick.

      Primer is a pain to clean out of an airless sprayer. Almost as bad as oil-based paint

    Looks great and that white trim paint looks amazing. I'm in the process of painting my house and I could've used that paint eater for my peeling paint, I used my handy dandy butter knife though. It did the trick lol

    Check your local building codes before sanding exterior paint. I'm pretty sure many places require you to uses a vacuum system to collect paint dust, not just throwing down plastic like you were painting an interior.

    If a house is in this condition when you spray paint you really should back brush and or roll to push the paint and seal all the cracks that caused all the damage in the first place.
