Brent Harrold Liles (September 7, 1963 -- January 18, 2007) was the bassist for Social Distortion from 1981 - 1984 and later was the bassist for Agent Orange from 1985 - 1992. He left Social Distortion on New Year's Eve 1984, with the band's drummer Derek O'Brien. The two would once again be bandmates from 1989 to the early 1990s with Agent Orange.
Ive seen them live in my hometown of Providence R.I. It Was One Of The Best Shows Ive Ever Seen. I Just Saw Alice In Chains Last Night And There Up On That List As Well.
How can you compare who is better they are all great bands that have been around forever. You might as well throw in Descendents, GBH, Adicts and such all have great sound and songs and have out lived the wrath of time and still going!
Social D did a show in Toronto @ The Bridge, 88 era w/ Gang Green. Mike Ness tells the crowd that punk rock is dead. Singer of Gang Green comes out and slugs him and tries to beat the snot outta of him. Now that's punk!
Probably an arena show or something where the place has bolted down seats. I woulda been fuckin tearing those things out and moshing anyways. But here in Chicago they don't like property destruction. ;)
social distortion was the ONLY GOOD BAND OF THE '80s the 80s lacked culture music and nothing in it was good the only other good band from the 80s was nirvana but they started in 89

One of the all time great albums
SD is "full frontal rock and roll." This band rides you hard and puts you away wet. Gotta love it.
one of the most classic punk songs ever
REAL songwriter, massivly underated band
I love Social D
There are only a very few bands that I will make the effort to see multiple times. SD is one of those bands. This song is one of the reasons why.
This song made me punk rocker instantly. Mommy's Little Monster and Another State of Mind.

I was starting high school when this song came out. Fuck I'm old!
I think you're thinking of the mainstream, the underground scene, especially early 80s hardcore, and skater punk was the best.

Green Day is overrated...
You'd tried to make it all dramatic. Sorry, just thought that was funny how you wrote it.
