To me Ness is the ultimate street poet, every song hits you right in the chest. He is a good example of how you can be tough as nails and still have a heart full of emotion.

I grew up in Orange County California were Mike Ness is from and went through the punk rock scene and a lot of similar things he went through. It a beautiful thing to see the change and growth of Mike Ness over the years and you can see in there music as well. There change helped me change and be better man as well. Thanks Mike..

Casbah as their original recording studio located in Fullerton, CA. It was in a unit of a non-descript industrial building near the Fullerton airport and right next to the railroad tracks. When the band took breaks from recording, they often took walks along the railroad tracks, which possibly explains why Mike has numerous references to railroad tracks in his writing. Today and electrical contractor occupies the Casbah unit.

I’ve had my leather jacket since I was 14 when I was in 9th grade and I’m 24 now. I’ve done a lot of crazy shit while wearing it such as going into mosh pits, taking pictures with famous rockstars/rappers and so many other things that involve the rock and roll lifestyle. I’m honestly surprised that it still fits and is in mostly good shape.

When everyone has gone away due to mistakes made over and over this song hits hard. I just woke up alone with 5 beers left in the fridge from a 15 pack bought yesterday. I dont enjoy the flavor anymore, but im sure as hell gonna choke them down so that i dont have to feel the pain of living. If it wasnt for music like this i wouldnt have much to hold onto anymore. But im a fighter, and i know that the pain will fade, but until then im learning slowly to not ever take anything for granted ever again.

I'm your worn in leather jacket
I'm the volume in your fucked up teenage band
A pack of smokes and a six pack
I'm the dreams you had walking down the railroad tracks
    you and me
I'm your first taste of romance
I'm your first broken heart on a Saturday night
Guys like us ain't got no chance
But I'm the thing that keeps you and me alive
    But not forever
So take me down the road
    Take me to the show
    It's something to believe in
    That no one else knows
But don't take me for granted
I'm the blood on your guitar
I'm that wave you caught back in 1975
I'm as strong as a thousand armies
I'm as soft as the pedal on a long stem rose
    I am love
So take me down the road
    Take me to the show
    It's something to believe in
    That no one else knows
But don't take me for granted
I'm with you when you're born
You can take me when you die
    With all the reasons why
But don't take me for granted
So take me down the road
    Take me to the show
    It's something to believe in
    That no one else knows
But don't take me for granted
I'm with you when you're born
You can take me when you die
    With all the reasons why
But don't take me for granted

Hang in there man, don't give up on yourself. Had the same thing happen to a friend of mine. Never used, but I've known plenty who have. Its hell. Punk is all about the power we each have within us, and fighting against whatever holds us down, no matter how hard it may be. If there is any advice I could give you, it would be this: Realize the one thing you want in life, more than anything else. Reach for it with everything you have. Never stop reaching, and never look back.

I'm the blood on your guitar
I'm that wave you caught back in 1975
I'm as strong as a thousand armies
I'm as soft as a petal on a long-stemmed rose
    I am love

When I hear this song reminds me of a couple different family friends. One of them was five years older than me who was murdered 10 years ago on July 23, 2014. He used to ride bikes, play basketball, play video games, and just hang out with my childhood best friend, my best friend’s siblings and I. He was practically the life of the party wherever he went. The other family friend is my best friends Grandpa, who passed away in late February. He was like an unofficial grandpa for my younger sister and I since we knew him since I became best friends with his oldest grandson. My family used to go visit him a lot because he didn’t get out too much since he had medical issues from smoking cigarettes for so many years. He would always get us stuff for the holidays and our birthdays. He was a really down to earth Vietnam veteran who enjoyed getting out into his small garden, raising pigeons and playing solitaire. R.I.P Chris Adams and Joseph Scott. May your memories continue to live on through everyone who was part of our group of friends.

Social D was an absolutely flawless band live, no other performance has really compared as far as I was concerned. Mike's wrist was actually broken for the show, but they performed way beyond my expectations none-the-less.

I'm late to the party but I'm glad to be here alive still, even though I have a desease killing me slowly.. No attempt at attention just needed to get it out of my head... No family all dead now and brother dying too of the same thing as me.. Son drinking far too much and a sociopath whom I love keeps hurting me but lol I keep going at 59 and I keep on giving until all my money is gone.. So nomore talking me for granted..

My father died almost 2 years ago. When he died, my best friend put every recorded social D song on my computer, telling me their music always helped him through hard times. One of my most vivid memories was finishing my dad's last bottle of booze, sobbing uncontrollably, and listening to this song. 2 years later it brings a smile to my face and reminds me of all the good times I had with my dad. Bravo social d.
