Mike - I have tears of delight, gratitude and admiration for your courage and resilience in my eyes!!! Keep on going strong- you make all of us smile and remember that today’s society and life’s curveballs are a mere reflection of the Universe’s humor ‘just to keep it interesting and prove yet again WE GOT THIS’. Keep on going and playing music- it inspires!!! You are an inspiration!!!
Been listening to this guy for 36 years. One of his better performances in the last several years. This song brings back memories from 34 years ago. Good times, bad times and Mike's music was there. Thanks Mike and Social-D.
@LadyKestrel23 He is doing so well . And he loves us for all the support. That's who he is ,and why we love him so much. Of all the videos I have of him on this channel over the years, this one means the most to me ,and I'm so glad I did it for us all to see . He talked about how some of us may have lost our old dogs. My dog died a week after this show . And I ran with him for many years while listening to Social Distortion. I cried through this whole show ,and he saw me and kept standing right in front of me playing. That's who Mike Ness is.
Thank you so much. I really appreciate that . Of all the musicians I have done videos of ,he's always been my favorite. And it's been since before covid. He was a sight for some sore eyes. I just love him ❤️.
Wow❤great singing voice. I Always loved this guys music and he influenced me, my life and my music in my younger days. Also love his both solo records so f***ing much😅 Saw Social Distortion two times in Berlin years ago. Thanx for filming & Greetings from Berlin/Germany
This is just such a great recording! Mike we got your back man. You in your way raised us up when we were down. The least we can do is give it back what you gave us.
I was 15 when I heard this song for the first time! There was a chanel called the video jukebox you called put in your number for your song! The wait was worth it to, because I got to be exposed to lots of different music styles. That's how I got exposed to S.C , after that , I made a few calls and put in the number and waited. Who ever exposed me to this great song. Thank you very much! At almost 50 this song brings a tear to my eye.
Punk Rock Legend !!! I hope your health's good Mike and i dream of you one day touring in France, i'll be there and show you my Social D Tattoo 😀 Long life Social Distortion, Long life Mike Ness, Punk's not dead, Punk will never die !!!!
@Misfit710 Well, that's because his fans don't have a big history of flipping him off with both middle fingers during a show. He's not a puppet. He deserves respect.
Saw them live in San francisco ( cant remember what year , im sure i was drunk ) ) Warfield sometime in the 90's and at Slims also in San francisco . Great shows and im happy i got to see these icons
He almost looks sick here. One of my all time favorite bands. Never wanna meet Mike Ness in person, but I definitely hope we get a few more rock n roll albums out of him.
I remember being in rehab and the cook used to crank music when we were coming in for lunch, I heard him playing this song, one day I was so fkn down and out in the head I asked him if he could play this for me and I'd help wash some dishes.. he said get your ass in here!!
@thepennsylvanian9280 Nice story. Thank you for sharing that. Social Distortion has been there for so many of us during the darkest times. I love hearing those stories.
Secretly he is probably a little more thankful to God but maybe not, who knows. Still ticking and my pal older brother’s beat him up back in the day but we were big fans, saw all their pawned gear from time to time in the Fullerton pawn shops, they had live concert photos above the for sale sacrificed Gibson SG. or whatever was on the chopping block. Man I miss the 80’s good natured personal rebellion.
@plantlove5257 I actually lost my 13 year German Pointer 7 days after he said that. For years, I ran with that dog listening to Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell. I balled my eyes out for a big part of the show like a baby after he said that , and Mike kept standing in front of me, playing like he was trying to comfort me.
to understand this song and this stories, you have to be born in the 20th century. life was different then. thanks MIKE
In fact this song has been in my head daily for the last 1.5years - on auto repeat. Thanks for the music SD and MN!!!
Lol my friend told me this was the story of my life too back in the late 90s. I think it represented a lot of us ❤
It sure was. You made your own fun and you made your own trouble. Social D. sure captures and puts into words what many of us from then can relate to.
80's, life, heartache, hard times, good times, we still survived.
