This is a FAB cover by Social D It's a PUNK rendition, and is perfectly done If you don't get it, maybe you need to get their OLD albums from the 80's and listen..this is on '1945'
Mike Ness is a punk pioneer that will always be remembered if some people here saw the punks not dead documentry whats said is true Mike Ness and many others are the ones keeping punk alive.
@belajadevotchka Yeah, Mike Ness is a gem as a songwriter. He doesn't necesarily write songs that touches your soul, but what he writes just give you shivers because It touches your own life experience with its Love, hate, ups and downs...
Holy fuck are you guys kidding? Mike ness fucking kills this song!! True....it's not the stones (hence a "cover") they're paying tribute to the stones cuz they're bad ass you should appreciate it for what it's worth, it's way better than some poser punk band like Fall out Boy covering it
Mike Ness has never done any bad cover. They all are very well-chosen and he has somehow given them a sort of second class. ( Ring of fire, Under my thumb, Making believe, Alone & forsaken, Death or glory, Don't think twice ).
you gotta look up some of their newer tracks on the internet i cant name any sorry but then you can search them and find live versions they play them before they release cds
These guys once travelled across North America with nothing but a couple of hundred bucks in savings and a fucking broken down school bus. Now, they're asking "How's everybody doing tonight?" to a stadium crowd. HAPPY FUCKIN HOLIDAYS? Mr. Stalin, tear this fuckin wall down cause there are a whole lotta people that want to rock behind it. And they're not listening to Social Distortion anymore.
yea, cool intro! respect for the baalies (older dudes) who still believe! SD rock, always have...just 'cause it's slower don't mean it does'nt carry INTENT! Rock on!
I just got to give a 5 STAR for the kings of punkrock. Respect the name people: SOCIAL DISTORTION is the name if you just came back from outta space :) P.S:Go back to space guitarguylespaul with your pretentious comment!
ill agree with the first album, i like that album there songs from the other albums i can get into but i feel its the same, maybe not exactly but similar, just gets boring after a while and predicable. Well Johnny cash is the same i like some songs but same thing they sound the same after a while. My opinion
the lead singer kinda has that latino ganger look with the flannel shirt and slicked backed hair. And this song isnt as great as ball and chain and the story of my life songs.
Covers can be better than the originals. Arguably of course. Just look at All Along The Watchtower by Jimi Hendrix as opposed to Bob Dylan's version or Mad World by Gary Jules as opposed to Tears For Fears. But yes this cover is absolute shit. The Stones did it way better and this is just nothing by comparison.
The keyboardist & drummer sure lay the feel to this tune. Absolutely perfect!
I think Mike is feelin' pretty good! Love it.
what a beautiful intro for under my thumb, the best cover for me
My dads favourite by the stones :',) R.I.P I love you Mike Ness for this epic Cover.
I swear this piano piece will haunt me until the end of my days...
Die hand Stones fan here, but really enjoyed Social D's cover. Great band
what an amazing cover...even though its a cover they can still produce a unique feeling to the song.
This is a FAB cover by Social D

Once again, this piano piece will haunt me `til the end of my days.
Mike Ness does some rockabilly, not country!!! All the Social D albums are good. I just wish theyd come out with another one, its been a while
Mike Ness is a punk pioneer that will always be remembered if some people here saw the punks not dead documentry whats said is true Mike Ness and many others are the ones keeping punk alive.
the liner notes for this song are so awesome something like 'sometimes theonly thing you can salvage from hearbreak is control"
@belajadevotchka

@XVMSSS02 He grew up in sounthern California where there is a heavy latino gang culture. I would think that is why he is dressed that way,
Mike Ness has never done any bad cover.
They all are very well-chosen and he has somehow given them a sort of second class. ( Ring of fire, Under my thumb, Making believe, Alone & forsaken, Death or glory, Don't think twice ).
This cover is nothing less that i've expected...Fucking awesome!
That would be kick ass!! dam! mike does look like hes feelin pretty good on this vid

coolest intro ever.
Yippieeeeeeeeee, worlds greatest song !!!
you gotta look up some of their newer tracks on the internet i cant name any sorry but then you can search them and find live versions they play them before they release cds
I love the combination of piano and guitar SD RULES!!!!
Dude If Ya Dont Like It Why Ya Watchin It?
Mike Ness wipes his ball sweat with Fall Out Boy and The Used.

ive listened to alot i didnt say i didnt like them just said most albums you cant tell apart
I think Mike tries to get that look down at times because he grew up in Southern California where there is a heavy latino gang culture.
how can I hear some of their new stuff?
with a name like troutbum,Ill click on that.g going for walleye today.
also only band that comes out with albums which sound exactly the same as the last one
happy fn holidays
What ever happened to Social D? Used to be so good...
its originally a stones song. u thought that maybe the stones were covering social distortion?
no other band can do a better cover than social distortion not period but under my thumb good vid.
excellent video
very good quality :
all i have to say is that whoever gave ev7001216 a thumbs down can't know very much about good music...blind faith school these cats.
Did someone get stabbed in the crowd during the song?
@POOPEN16 YOU TELL EM POOPEN16!
@BlackChapelDeluxe i say neat like it never went outta style.
Its a cover and thats what it is.
@jakesmalldon Ball sweat? Why wipe it at all, just let it roll baby roll.
didnt say i didnt like them, just cant tell albums apart, also this is just a rolling stones cover.
cool, thanks!!
@sjconker64 I do not agree at all. Under my thumb might be Ness best cover. IMO
what do you mean what ever happened to them..? they are wicked as fuck still
this is a good cover check out the ministry cover too its pretty good
i thought you use your pinky and intex with your middle finger, why a thumb? XO
all they do is add a little distorion to the song to provide for the sheep.
thisgoesouta
lmao
yea, cool intro! respect for the baalies (older dudes) who still believe! SD rock, always have...just 'cause it's slower don't mean it does'nt carry INTENT! Rock on!

Did you write that just for the sake of writing anything?
Here try this,
NOBODY GIVES A FUCK WHAT YOU THINK!
have a nice day you waste of oxygen.
@rjplamf61 thanks!
I understand people liking this but I like the stones version better
yeah right.. smoke another one. You obviously haven't listened to much SD.
@betterthanbooks mike ness. mike ness does
@cameljockey96h true....
the lead singer kinda has that latino ganger look with the flannel shirt and slicked backed hair.
And this song isnt as great as ball and chain and the story of my life songs.
Um, they went country. That's what happened. Mommy's Little Monster and the later released Mainliner are the only good albums.
Covers can be better than the originals. Arguably of course. Just look at All Along The Watchtower by Jimi Hendrix as opposed to Bob Dylan's version or Mad World by Gary Jules as opposed to Tears For Fears.
But yes this cover is absolute shit. The Stones did it way better and this is just nothing by comparison.
mmmmm...don't like it. got to say the stones' version is much better
i don't like it. rolling stones does it better because it's their song.
opinions opinions, haters gon hate. idc.
I love the stones & SD but hate your comment 😎
im not hating, but i dont like it...
Are you serious the butchered this song its a fucking terrible cover.
Social Distortion = Fail
