I enjoy longer wear test reviews and chit chat while relaxing with my coffee in the morning or cocktail *ahem, tea* in the evening. Shorts kill that vibe and I'm fighting them by not clicking on them. But I will ALWAYS watch your longer content even if it's products I'm not interested in bc it's so satisfying just to watch you 🥰

It's a shame that RUclips is seemingly pushing creators to do more short form. It's pretty clear from all the comments I read from subscribers, the large majority of us prefer long form. It also seems from comments i read that most don't do tiktok. Maybe this is all geared for twenty-something's? As much as I love the makeup reviews,tips, applications etc, you are what brings me back over and over. You're a true gem Tania.

I really enjoy the Elf Halo Glow. I want to try the tarte contour wand. I never tried the CT because there wasn’t a shade for me. I don’t mind shorts but I do appreciate and prefer the long form much better.

I’d rather long form over short form but I think short form for updates on products you’ve been using would make it more cohesive for RUclips. Also agree I feel like short form messes with my attention, luckily I tend to watch long form more than anything.
I am in LOVE with the Givenchy powder! I've got my third jar in my Sephora cart as we speak. On its own with the little sponge/pad it comes with, I don't find it does much. But because I use loose powder foundation... Ladies, I'm telling you!! I shake a bit of the Givenchy in the lid along with a little foundation and shake them together. Pick that up on a fluffier brush and apply. The result is like magic. Givenchy is SO expensive ($72 CN), but it's my one lux product I can't be without and the ONLY one that I'm not interested in finding a dupe for. It's beautiful. And no issues with my mature skin, either. It really is a beautiful product.
@Tania B. Wells ... Yes. I turn the Givenchy over as square as I can to get about the same amount of all the powder colors. Then I take some loose powder foundation and shake that in as well. Just kinda twirl the two together in the Givenchy lid and voila. Oh... I use Nude by Nature foundation. Although I will soon need to find another. NBN has been discontinued at my local drugstore and if I'm ordering online, it will have to be a Sephora brand.

I love using the elf as a “foundation” on my no makeup makeup days. I hate the short videos but I love the longer videos especially on RUclips. When I’m cleaning I like to play the videos not have to keep scrolling to just listen to a few seconds of a video. I just don’t watch the shorts I can’t get into them. I wish each social media platform would just stay in their lane on what they are for. IG for pics, tik tok for shorts and you tube for long videos. That’s just my opinion though.

If I wanted short form content, I would go to TikTok, but since I’m not a teenager with ADD, I prefer RUclips because it’s longer, gird more in depth and much more helpful and informational.
Have you ever tried Laura Mercier under eye brightening powder (loose)? I know you are not into brightening powders but I love that one for setting my concealer. I apply it with a mini beauty blender, wipe away the excess with a brush so it doesn't make me look older. That process keeps most of my mascaras from transferring. I have the same problem with my curly lashes touching everywhere 😊
@@catg6205 Yes! I can’t wear concealer without it or I get immediate creases in my lines. I have dry under eyes and I’m not a fan powders so that is saying a LOT! It’s so finely milled and even though it’s white, it’s not TOO brightening. I think a lot of people confuse it with the regular LM face powder but totally different product 🙌🏼

Oh and I ❤ the Mario foundation, it’s hard for me to find a shade that is matching me right. I have fair to light skin and the first cool undertone is very peachy and then from there it gets too dark so I have to try mixing a few and see if that works. You were lucky you got a dead on match!

You can’t go wrong with either one. the Bk beauty is a bit bigger but it is easier to wash and it applies the foundation on so fast and smooth. The Sonia G is a mix of natural and synthetical hair so washing it takes me a bit longer but it’s still worth the smoothness of it. I think the Sonia G is more expensive as well. If I could only pick one I probably would go for Sonia G for the quality and durability, but BK 101 is almost just as good. I think it depends on what you want from a foundation brush❤️
Thanks Tania! Fun video. For the givenchy loose powder, is there any glow in the finish? I’m looking for a powder (kind of like Westman Atelier) where it’s undetectable, but also takes away a bit of shine for my textured areas. Skin-like, but slightly mattifies. Does that exist? lol
I heard that the Givenchy has some glow but honestly.. I find it more matte than glowy! I LOVE the Kosas Powder so much for that!! It has a slight radiance but smooths and sets your makeup! It’s perfect!!

Getting to know who is reviewing it Is important aswell the devil is in the details and I need to know the real honest T before I spend my hard earned money on these brands.

I have a somewhat controversial question to ask which I’m really interested in your opinion when it comes to talc - because I think you’re quite knowledgeable when it comes to the beauty industry. There’s a lot of powder I’m interested in, including the Givenchy one, but their main ingredients are talc. I thought talc is supposed to be really bad for you?
That is such a good question! Maybe I should make a video on this. I have seen so many different opinions on the harm of talc in cosmetics. The amount of talc and what kind of talc ( non asbestos vs asbestos), where you apply the powders with talc and so much more. For example I never use baby powder on my kids because of the talc, which is known to have cancerous side effect when used in private area, but I am not as concerned in my powder products. It really is an issue that everybody needs to know where they stand and what conclusion they come to, since there are not enough studies to prove one way or another for cosmetic use.

I think it totally worth a video or to mention in one of your videos when you review or share about a product that has talc as a main ingredient. Even now after your explanation I already feel so much better about talc in cosmetics, sometimes on a consumer level, we just get really confused and worried after reading all the mixed opinions and start questioning every single powder products we have… it made me toss my Laura Mercier translucent setting powder for sure after looking up in some website hah. I’m turned off to L’Oréal products and won’t purchase from them now . And maybe other companies are doing it but until they get caught I will still purchase.
Maybe I had the wrong shade, was hard to find fair/light shades but seemed right. I hated it. Just was a bit much (maybe wrong shade) and I think it irritated my skin. I wanted to like the ELF. It actually reminded me of the Clinique Concealer/Foundation with the applicator yet a softer look. Just didn't work for me. As for the CT one I had the smaller size so wasn't that expensive but personally I like it OVER my skin not as a primer/base or alone. I just dab a drop on either side of my face and forehead and it adds just a drop w/o looking too heavy or fake. Elf has 8 shades, the fair/light didn't look right on me... more orange than beige. Disappointed but the small CT will last me a long time how I use it. I tried it as a primer/base and just didn't like it... more a touch me up. Years back I never used anything but the Dior one they discontinued this was is nice (nicer scent) but I can't get the shade right. Thanks!!

I just don't think shorts are as fun as tiktok, like TikTok is the specific app for short videos. When I open RUclips, I want long understandable video. When shorts is done it feels less interactive. I love long complete video that goes deep into the topics that are shown

Boooo. This just honestly annoys the crap out of me. If I wanted to watch short form content I would go on Instagram or TikTok. I watch RUclips because i like to sit down and really get involved with who I'm watching and have more in-depth details and discussions and honestly it's just fun It's relaxing and I enjoy it. So the fact that they are pushing for short form is so annoying. I don't know why everyone is trying to compete with TikTok, I don't think it's fair.
It is very frustrating. When I put a short on youtube it gets so many views in such a short time compared to long for content.. which tells me they are pushing shorts so much more.

I just ordered Mac f&b last week! I’m waiting for it to get here.l but yes I wore the Chantecaille last night and it was beautiful. I do recommend a light physical exfoliation the morning you put make up on in the areas you’re peeling a lot. That’s what I’ve been doing (gently of course) and I noticed everything wears so much better. At least with more hydrating and creamy foundations. 🤍 I hope it works out for you!

I just came across the brand Focallure, and blush SUGAR, YES PLEASE!® FRESH BLUSH SINGLE #C04 LAVENDER. For whatever it’s worth it looks exactly like the Dior/Tarte pink so I ordered it. I really want one of the others but need to slow my spending roll 💸 What I have to tell myself is makeup isn’t going anywhere-new launches happen all the time maybe there’s something even better that I’d like more coming up. Then, if I want a lux brand go ahead and buy it at another time! About the “Shorts”-it encourages further evolution of an attention span = a fly. There’s no time to get to know the influencer, promotes gimmickry, and serves as a commercial for the brand. No wonder RUclips will pay you for it. As an accompaniment to the comprehensive videos, sure., but what your doing is perfect 👍
The YT bigwigs are trying to compete with TicToc by forcing YT'rs to upload the "shorts". This is so ridiculous, YT and TicToc are two completely different platforms, offering two completely different "products". I don't watch TicToc and, as a rule, I don't watch "shorts". Of course, I'll watch yours in support of you, but it's still ridiculous. I've used the elf corrector and have found that if I blend it with my fingers, I achieve a much better coverage than with a brush and definitely with a sponge. I have used lash combs for years. Tweezerman and Sephora brand also have lash combs. I think it really helps the lashes look better.

I am in LOVE with the Givenchy powder! I've got my third jar in my Sephora cart as we speak. On its own with the little sponge/pad it comes with, I don't find it does much. But because I use loose powder foundation... Ladies, I'm telling you!! I shake a bit of the Givenchy in the lid along with a little foundation and shake them together. Pick that up on a fluffier brush and apply. The result is like magic. Givenchy is SO expensive ($72 CN), but it's my one lux product I can't be without and the ONLY one that I'm not interested in finding a dupe for. It's beautiful. And no issues with my mature skin, either. It really is a beautiful product.

@Tania B. Wells ... Yes. I turn the Givenchy over as square as I can to get about the same amount of all the powder colors. Then I take some loose powder foundation and shake that in as well. Just kinda twirl the two together in the Givenchy lid and voila. Oh... I use Nude by Nature foundation. Although I will soon need to find another. NBN has been discontinued at my local drugstore and if I'm ordering online, it will have to be a Sephora brand.

I love using the elf as a “foundation” on my no makeup makeup days. I hate the short videos but I love the longer videos especially on RUclips. When I’m cleaning I like to play the videos not have to keep scrolling to just listen to a few seconds of a video. I just don’t watch the shorts I can’t get into them. I wish each social media platform would just stay in their lane on what they are for. IG for pics, tik tok for shorts and you tube for long videos. That’s just my opinion though.
Same! It would make it so much easier for people to go to one platform for what they want. It would also be so much easier on us creators .. we could focus on only one form of content ..

Have you ever tried Laura Mercier under eye brightening powder (loose)? I know you are not into brightening powders but I love that one for setting my concealer. I apply it with a mini beauty blender, wipe away the excess with a brush so it doesn't make me look older. That process keeps most of my mascaras from transferring. I have the same problem with my curly lashes touching everywhere 😊
This powder is my real HG!! I 🤩have been using it for 5-6 years. Nothing can replace it, yet ✨

It’s so finely milled and even though it’s white, it’s not TOO brightening. I think a lot of people confuse it with the regular LM face powder but totally different product 🙌🏼

I would have to agree too that the viral mascara was planned. I haven't seen her defending herself and that makes me think that possibly she was paid. (just my opinion people don't come for me) Some influencers will do anything for money. That is why I love your honesty on reviews on your channel. 🥰
Oh and I ❤ the Mario foundation, it’s hard for me to find a shade that is matching me right. I have fair to light skin and the first cool undertone is very peachy and then from there it gets too dark so I have to try mixing a few and see if that works. You were lucky you got a dead on match!

Hi Tania! I notice you alternate the BK 101 and Sonia G jumbo base with your videos. Which would you recommend for someone who wants to have a minimal collection? Pls elaborate on their pros and cons. Thanks!
You can’t go wrong with either one. the Bk beauty is a bit bigger but it is easier to wash and it applies the foundation on so fast and smooth. The Sonia G is a mix of natural and synthetical hair so washing it takes me a bit longer but it’s still worth the smoothness of it. I think the Sonia G is more expensive as well. If I could only pick one I probably would go for Sonia G for the quality and durability, but BK 101 is almost just as good. I think it depends on what you want from a foundation brush❤️

I heard that the Givenchy has some glow but honestly.. I find it more matte than glowy! I LOVE the Kosas Powder so much for that!! It has a slight radiance but smooths and sets your makeup! It’s perfect!!

Getting to know who is reviewing it Is important aswell the devil is in the details and I need to know the real honest T before I spend my hard earned money on these brands.

I have a somewhat controversial question to ask which I’m really interested in your opinion when it comes to talc - because I think you’re quite knowledgeable when it comes to the beauty industry. There’s a lot of powder I’m interested in, including the Givenchy one, but their main ingredients are talc. I thought talc is supposed to be really bad for you?
That is such a good question! Maybe I should make a video on this. I have seen so many different opinions on the harm of talc in cosmetics. The amount of talc and what kind of talc ( non asbestos vs asbestos), where you apply the powders with talc and so much more. For example I never use baby powder on my kids because of the talc, which is known to have cancerous side effect when used in private area, but I am not as concerned in my powder products. It really is an issue that everybody needs to know where they stand and what conclusion they come to, since there are not enough studies to prove one way or another for cosmetic use.

I think it totally worth a video or to mention in one of your videos when you review or share about a product that has talc as a main ingredient. Even now after your explanation I already feel so much better about talc in cosmetics, sometimes on a consumer level, we just get really confused and worried after reading all the mixed opinions and start questioning every single powder products we have… it made me toss my Laura Mercier translucent setting powder for sure after looking up in some website hah. But yes, to me, it’s totally worth it to talk about.

Maybe I had the wrong shade, was hard to find fair/light shades but seemed right. I hated it. Just was a bit much (maybe wrong shade) and I think it irritated my skin. I wanted to like the ELF. It actually reminded me of the Clinique Concealer/Foundation with the applicator yet a softer look. Just didn't work for me. As for the CT one I had the smaller size so wasn't that expensive but personally I like it OVER my skin not as a primer/base or alone. I just dab a drop on either side of my face and forehead and it adds just a drop w/o looking too heavy or fake. Elf has 8 shades, the fair/light didn't look right on me... more orange than beige. Disappointed but the small CT will last me a long time how I use it. I tried it as a primer/base and just didn't like it... more a touch me up. Years back I never used anything but the Dior one they discontinued this was is nice (nicer scent) but I can't get the shade right. Thanks!!

I just don't think shorts are as fun as tiktok, like TikTok is the specific app for short videos. When I open RUclips, I want long understandable video. When shorts is done it feels less interactive. I love long complete video that goes deep into the topics that are shown
I don't like short form content... It is a BIG SCAM... If your going to show a product just like hey look at this ...sure short term works ...but when your trying to sell & convince an audience this is why you should buy this then long therm content works because your showing the before-after, time laspe wear test... Boooo. This just honestly annoys the crap out of me. If I wanted to watch short form content I would go on Instagram or TikTok. I watch RUclips because i like to sit down and really get involved with who I'm watching and have more in-depth details and discussions and honestly it's just fun It's relaxing and I enjoy it. So the fact that they are pushing for short form is so annoying. I don't know why everyone is trying to compete with TikTok, I don't think it's fair.
It is very frustrating. When I put a short on youtube it gets so many views in such a short time compared to long for content.. which tells me they are pushing shorts so much more.

The Chantecaille foundation is so so good!! I guess because i use tretinoin my skin hated the Mario one and I was so sad because at initial application it was beautiful but after a couple hours it literally peeled off of me 😭. But with how hydrating the Chantecaille one is, it wears perfect! I can’t wait for your Chantecaille video! ♥️♥️♥️

I just ordered Mac f&b last week! I’m waiting for it to get here.l but yes I wore the Chantecaille last night and it was beautiful. I do recommend a light physical exfoliation the morning you put make up on in the areas you’re peeling a lot. That’s what I’ve been doing (gently of course) and I noticed everything wears so much better. At least with more hydrating and creamy foundations. 🤍 I hope it works out for you!

I just came across the brand Focallure, and blush SUGAR, YES PLEASE!® FRESH BLUSH SINGLE #C04 LAVENDER. For whatever it’s worth it looks exactly like the Dior/Tarte pink so I ordered it. I really want one of the others but need to slow my spending roll 💸 What I have to tell myself is makeup isn’t going anywhere-new launches happen all the time maybe there’s something even better that I’d like more coming up. Then, if I want a lux brand go ahead and buy it at another time! About the “Shorts”-it encourages further evolution of an attention span = a fly. There’s no time to get to know the influencer, promotes gimmickry, and serves as a commercial for the brand. No wonder RUclips will pay you for it. As an accompaniment to the comprehensive videos, sure., but what your doing is perfect 👍
The YT bigwigs are trying to compete with TicToc by forcing YT'rs to upload the "shorts". This is so ridiculous, YT and TicToc are two completely different platforms, offering two completely different "products".
I don't watch TicToc and, as a rule, I don't watch "shorts". Of course, I'll watch yours in support of you, but it's still ridiculous.
I've used the elf corrector and have found that if I blend it with my fingers, I achieve a much better coverage than with a brush and definitely with a sponge. The sponge, literally, makes it disappear!
