As a dry skin type, I totally understand what you are talking about when it comes to the feelings of gel moisturizers etc. I also tried the Mario foundation - I thought the color match was awesome, but I wasn't impressed by it whatsoever - I thought it emphasized texture, and I didn't find it particularly flattering, even with dry skin.
I love how you show your makeup in natural light as well. Thank you for all you do.

I haven't personally tested this Marios foundation, but, I've seen mature skin influencers on Tiktok and Insta that are not happy with the results once on their skin. They complain that it separates, specially if you're in the oilier side and that it doesn't cover all your face . Thank you so much for doing the video. You're absolutely gorgeous!
I have oily skin and I have been loving the makeup by Mario foundation! It does dry down and last all day, I do have oil peek through. I really like the natural glow the foundation gives.

that lip combo is EVERYTHING!
I like the foundation. I'm combo/oily and it works for me. It's not my absolute favourite but it's good. My faves are usually matte but it's nice for days I want a bit of a glow.
Hi Risa - I love testing hot new makeup videos! I really like and have the new Nars palette but I haven’t tried that middle shade. I used my fingers a lot for the shimmers and didn’t have fallout. I looove the Too Faced blushes and have 3 shades- they are so good, long wearing, love the scent and pigmented. If I get the Mario foundation I’ll only get a sample to try. Thanks!! ❤

After the oily skin reviews I've seen, I'm happy to say this foundation was an easy pass for me. I can look like a disco ball all by myself, thanks anyway Mario.

I am dry skinned but passed anyways. I have the IT Cosmetics foundation with skincare in it and it has mica in it also. I also have the L’Oréal true match super blendable and the new illuminating foundation from Revlon, all of which I think are close enough dupes that I need to at least use them up before I shell out $42 for this one! I can wait, that’s for sure.

Hi Risa. The MAC concealer looks so much better! I gotta try that! You look amazing, as always. The brows look so natural, yet perfect! Another product going onto my wish list.
It's so funny because 20 minutes before your video I watched 2 other videos with the Haus Labs powder and the women said how much they love the packaging. I only mention it because we re all so different! I am indifferent to that type of packaging.

I was planning to purchase the makeup by Mario and watched Angie which is mature in age as me. She was not a fan and I did not purchase bought Dior instead. After listening to you I am really glad I did not purchase. Live you and trust you so much. Thank you and keep them coming and your honest opinion.

I would love for you to do a video of your skin care and makeup products that are your “empties”. What would be your go to every day products and your evening out makeup products. The MBM foundation was the worst foundation I tried in 2022…or possibly ever. 😬 When I saw myself in my car mirror it terrified me. 😂 I tried the new Revlon Illuminance Skin Care foundation and it was everything I wanted the MBM to be. Since it’s 1/2 the price (less actually and you can use a coupon) of the MBM that’s a win for my wallet.
Yes! I love that Revlon one! It’s stunning! I’m so happy with it I’m completely fine not getting the MBM one. ☺️It’s the best one I’ve tried so far this year!

Like you, I gave the MBM foundation more than one chance, changing up primers, no primer, and method to apply. I also tried 2 shades. I have normal mature skin with a small dry patch here and there. It just didn't give me the finished look that I love and not the right shade. The coverage and longevity wasn't what I expected either. So disappointed. That blush was beautiful. Must add to cart!

I am so glad u were honest about the Mario foundation! U are the 1st person that I've heard that doesn't like it. And I trust your opinions and recommendations so I will not be purchasing even tho my skin is more dry. I think I will stick to buying the Haus Labs! Haven't heard anything bad about that!

You mentioned root cover up so I wanted to see if you have seen or tried Tart Dab and Go root cover up. It is a stick and it works unbelievably well. It has also lasted me a super long time. I think it was about $26.00, but like I said, it lasts a really long time.

…?…why though? If you’re 18, I guess I understand. But all women need makeup. Even if it’s just a face cream. Or do you just let the skin on your face dry up and shrivel? And what about using some spf cream? I use one that’s tinted to lessen redness and to ward off the devastation of sun exposure. Do you moisturize your lips? Or you go around with crusty lips, crusty feet, hairy armpits and hairy legs? 😆I don’t know how anyone can go without at least those few basic things for years. Fine, I won’t judge. Maybe you’re transitioning into a man.
@@notsonice7633 no. I use what I have. I wear SPF 50 daily. I have a v nice skincare routine. And you must be pretty unhappy to leave unpleasant messages for no reason.
I just got the Too Face blushes in Tequila Sunset and Head in the Clouds and I am in love! I would’ve purchased more, but I just bought two Gucci blushes and I am done lol. But the Too Faced are beautiful and blurring, heavenly! My HG in the winter is the Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue, but I don’t think I’d bother trying the concealer. Thanks for the review and video!!

When applying a root touch up powder I take a comb and lay the non tooth side on my part to ensure no powder gets on my actual part! Thanks for the video - very informative as always

I ran out of the CT contour wand and it’s out of stock everywhere. I’m super excited to try the Tarte version and the Benefit brow wax. I know you hate the foundation, but I feel like even if you put straight up mud on your face, you would still look stunning.

I have similar issues regarding skin texture (though mine is much more obvious than yours) and avoid highlighters altogether. I have oily skin also and always have trouble completely covering underlying redness. It’s so frustrating. Now, I’ve got the age induced undereye bags and undereye concealer seems to highlight them even more, regardless of the technique I use to apply. I love your videos and we have similar coloring in general. I never get tired of watching makeup techniques and product reviews.

I so totally agree about the Makeup By Mario with people with oily skin. I have mild oily skin & absolutely hated it. I tried it 3 times with different primers & setting powders & still a huge fail for me. It was blotchy & broke up so bad. I returned it immediately. It was one of the worst foundations I have tried in the past 12 months. I thought maybe it was just not for me but many people who reviewed this felt the same. Love you reviews & honestly. Haus Labs is fantastic.

I love these colours, specially the Dior Gloss in pink, and the blush. I could wish you showed us when you applied mascara and lashes, i think some of us need help to see how we should take on fake lashes. I love it everytime you show that! I thought about getting the Nars eyeshadow palette but I'm so glad I didn't because glitter fallout is a BIG no-no for me. I wish Nars wouldn't put so many shimmer or glitter shadows in one palette. I don't mind them but I prefer more matte shades and just a few shimmer/glitter shades in a palette. Thanks for the amazing review Risa!

I returned my MBM foundation because as you say, it’s not hugely blurring on my 56 year old combo skin. The combo of CT light wonder and Nars light reflecting gives the same finish, and both of those individually improve the look of my skin.

You look beautiful. Thank you for the review. Saves me money . I have dry skin . Don’t think that foundation will work for me at all. Omg! I need those corner lashes , do tell .
Your root touch up/scalp cover is super red looking. It takes lots of trial and error to get a spray or powder that is the right color. I've spent a fortune trying them to find the color that disappears as is non detectable especially in bright light or worse, over head light. The way it is applied is also important. You have to put your part back for it to be natural. Good opportunity for a video tryout idea!

Ok… that max concealer looks BEAUTIFUL under your eyes. I never wear concealer, I’ve tried then stopped but I hate the dark circles. I’m 34. I just bought a new one but I’ve gotta powder- oily skin. I use DOTS but it just either looks dusty or just not right. 😩

Hi Risa, I tried this foundation and returned it right back to Sephora. I am not too oily...just my t-zone but this foundation enhanced pores, broke down and faded within a few hours. A huge pass for me. I will stick with Dior and Haus Labs...gosh even the new Revlon is 100 times better.

I’ve heard two people say that the CT highlighter doesn’t emphasize texture as much as the Rare Beauty ones. I’d love to see a comparison and hear your thoughts.
