Agreed!! I'm drier in the winter so if I wore matte /powders I'd be a flakes mess. I get my light foundation in dewy formula and darker in matte lol always have and always will. It seems so backwards to wear creams and tints .... like they are heavier and feel hot.

I almost had a panic attack. I had my calendar set but got slammed at work so at 2pm EST I was like oh no! I was worried the brush would be sold out... I missed the first one last year but I'm happy to say I got it! THANK YOU!! Fellow NH native here! I’ve always felt like summer is not the time for all the creams. I would rather use them in the cooler months. Also so happy you shared that SPF because I have seen it on other channels and never could find it due to it not being linked. I feel like I have always struggled to find one that works well under my makeup and doesn’t sting my eyes. They ALL freaking sting my eyes! You’re the best!
THANK YOU for shouting out powders for summer! I do not like to layer cream products over sunscreen either! Everything is so sticky and slippery (we have 85-90% humidity here) that powders are a must. I get budge proof makeup by doing a layer of setting spray between each step and only using powders-lightly!-on top of the sunscreen/skin prep. Also congratulations on your brush launch!! ❤
Yup. Creamy sunscreens make me sweat a lot more. Its confusing what's better, serum sunscreens or the spray ones that can be sprayed over the makeup like a setting spray.

ive watched and enjoyed SO many youtube makeup artists ever since my early teens but honestly you are the the only makeup artist i send to people who want to learn how to do makeup in general, im goth but im a firm believer if you understand the actual techniques you can apply it to any style, that and understanding colour theory you're good to go.
Finally someone besides me said it, lol! Why would you want creams/liquids in the warmer months? That’s when I wear mostly powders. The winter/cooler months is when I break the creams out. And I have dry skin.

Hi! Wow I have never been here so early. I've asked this before but I'm going to keep asking! Have you ever done an eye look with just lighter colors (lots of white, shimmers) for highlighting? Rather than using lots of dark for pushing things back, using lots of light colors to bring things forward looks less dirty on my hooded eyelids. Would love to see your version of it! I've seen it in a lot of Korean makeup looks. Also thank you for everything you have taught me! I recently did my sister-in-law's makeup for a photo shoot and it looked amazing! Sooo I 100% agree that creams are sooo much better for winter. I work for a beauty manufacturer and July/august is traditionally when fall/winter products are launched! So it seems like they are launching for summer but it’s just prepping for the next season. Like how fashion week for fall/winter is in like June!
Loved this Alex 😊 This is my go to makeup all year long, not so perfect though and maybe I need to switch to powers because I'm new to doing make up and I don't like the feeling of having something on my face. I choose cream products because I have dry skin and even acne prone, but maybe doing a combination of creams and powders would feel better and lighter on my skin. I wish I could do this technique but I have so much rosacea and redness in my face that contour, bronzer, and blush don’t show up unless I even out my skin tone first. I’ve learned to accept that my makeup is probably going to melt off my face 😆

As a person with oily skin the powders contain the oil and sweat a little bit 😁 I think it's different depending on the type of skin!
I have dry skin so I prefer creams even in the summer!! But use both for best results :)

I wish I could do this technique but I have so much rosacea and redness in my face that contour, bronzer, and blush don’t show up unless I even out my skin tone first. I’ve learned to accept that my makeup is probably going to melt off my face 😆
