I use aloe vera gel and rosewater with glycerin. Inexpensive.
For anyone interested in a less expensive duo for double moisturizing, I use Neutrogena Hydro boost water gel, then top it with FAB Ultra repair cream. I have dry skin and these have changed my life. ❤
Holy cow. I was literally looking to see if anyone asked for an alternative so I could recommend the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel too. I don't use it daily (still pricey for me) but always before makeup. I use E.L.F. Holy Hydration for my dry areas but I think what works best for that depends on individual needs. If my skin is really dry I use Vanicream but only the tiniest amount. All products above are available fragrance free.
Hydro Boost is really hyped and heavily marketed but it's so perfect under makeup.
HYDRO BOOST IS AMAZING I do confess I don’t like the water version it’s too wet for me I prefer the night concentrate. Neutrogena is recommended by my dermatologist and I have taken roaccutane on and off for years and neutrogena products have never made my face burn despite being super sensitive from the accuatane. Their daily face normal and with spf are great too.
Little late the the party, but Walmart has a house brand of the hyrdroboost for half the price
The Neutrogena hydro boost gel and eye contour are great, very affordable and wear very well under makeup. They have an OK serum too but I agree, a richer moisturizer on top is way better
Anyone else who knows they can’t do this amazing short pixi hair a little jealous of the fact that she can pile on all the dew without having hair stick to her face!? 🤩 amazing work. I love watching and listening to you make it up.

Of all the make-ups I've seen you do i love you the most when you do the natural make-ups. To me, there is nothing more beautiful than the natural kind of make-up that just makes one's traits pop. I am still wondering how the make-up holds using so much moisture beforehand but I will one day try to replicate it entirely. And no, i don't have an oily skin, rather a mix, oily on the forehead and maybe nose and regular on the rest of my face.

I still use my Lime Crime liner on a rare occasion and it makes me sad every time. It is/was truly the BEST lip liner shade to have ever existed! 😢 I’m trying to savor the bit that I have left.

I use Differin for my breakouts. I have horrifically dry skin and it scars something awful. I would use Differin over Benzoyl Peroxide any day, but that just my experience. Maybe you've tried it and it doesn't work well. It's good if you can put it over moisturized skin to keep it from drying out more. 😊

Tatcha dDewy…I don’t spend big bucks often yet at almost age 60 that is the ultimate and the others seem like …why bother?! So the $ is absolutely worth it I’ve bought many others and they feel great at first then…nothing. Thx for sharing, love the details!
Your Skin is absolutely gorgeous!! However, I think with as much as you use glow items on your face, and the way you oiled by the end of the tutorial, I think a shimmer Eyeshadow on your lid only would make a huge difference & tone down the look of oil 😊

I think the Laneige water bank moisturizer might be a dupe for the Tatcha water cream 🤔 I’ve never had the tatcha water cream but it looks very similar in the container lol. I’ve been loving it for daytime, I have somewhat sensitive, acne-prone combination skin.
Alex, thank you for teaching us - very often, while knowing the deets on the new stuff is great, the knowledge that we can put to use the most is the technical aspects of application and you consistently teach us the who/what/where/why -
So, with that in mind, I could really use ideas on ways I can touch up mid to late afternoon if my under eyes are looking dry and creasy or the marionette lines are looking the same -
What can I dab on or spray or manifest over, on top of product the add hydrated coverage and smoothing?

In wintertime, with the heating on, I need a rich primer in certain areas. I discovered glycerine, which is used as a humectant in skincare. It works perfectly and does not cost a lot… and a drop goes a long way.

Hey Alexandra, I really love your videos! You have the best tips. I would LOVE a video in which you teach us how to do make-up but without foundation. I do not use it because it covers my freckles and, actually, I do not like to use too much make-up. I do use concealer, but I am not sure if I am using it correctly. Like, do I need a primer? Do I need powder? Tips on how to do a go-to make-up with fewer products maybe? How to take advantage of the things you DO use? THANK YOUUU
Oooohhhhh! Great idea--- I agree!!! I basically stopped wearing foundation when I hit my early 30s as I no longer was confident it blended and looked natural, and have really only been doing "spot/area" concealing & color correcting. (& Probably not doing it well...)

I highly recommend the Alba zit stickers for your pimples. Come home, clean your face/moisturize as soon as you can and pop those suckers on. They are my FAVORITE. They're a colloidal patch with tea tree and salicylic. Sleep over night with them on.

Love the channel. I had aome amazing tips from here, but who thr heck has 2 hours time to dedicate to make up. So i have ot all truncated down to 20mon at most. But then again, i nearly don't use powder nor foundation. Just hell load of a skin care and primer is ever. But invaluable tips for eyeshadow and blush application. Thank you so much!
Penn Smith, here on RUclips, mentioned Vitamin K for around the eyes. I started using the Naturium Vitamin K Liposome Serum 5%. This feels very silky and has been really good for my rosacea, taking down the redness. The skin around my eyes has been more hydrated and imo a little lighter. Its definitely worth the try.
